Show off your Stuff
My new setup is finally complete. Got to take her for a test drive the other day and it was just as good as I had hoped. My DC735 + Zillion SV TW and DX704 + Shimano Exsence DC setups have both been demoted from my top rod combos and replaced with this guy. There will always be a special place in my heart for the DC735 (probably one of the best overall jig rods I've used), but this new one takes the cake. I got some HedgeHog Kattobi spool bearings on their way too for this guy. Already put new bearings in the handles when I changed them out.

Need help finding a hydraulic pedestal and butt/lean seat!
As I said in the title, I need the stick and the seat. My current seats have the 3/4" black plastic insert that has the 2 tabs at the bottom to lock in to the mount on my Stinger 175. So the hydraulic one needs to have the same deal on it. The butt seat... I just want something that isn't going to fall apart and has the concave back to lean the small of my back against. I'm 6'0 so I don't know which size to get for the hydraulic cylinder, most I've seen go to around 29-30" max, think that will be enough? I've looked around for a lot of this stuff and most things have mixed reviews. Just looking for some guidance in the right direction. Thanks

Shimano Curado 70/71 - Is It Worth It?
I've used the 201 and 71, neither are better or even as good as the Chronarch Ci4... but thats why it costs another $70. At the moment, besides my DC reels and my 2016 Stradic Ci4s, the Chronarchs are the only Non-DC Shimano reel I will use. Can be found on ebay for $220-230 now, but I would still pay $270 for them if I had to. If I had to buy a sub-$200 reel, I would skip over the Curados and get a Daiwa Tatula Type R or the new CT Type R, in my experience they are better than the new curados (that is just my opinion) and they can be picked up for $140 on ebay.

Dobyns Champion Extreme Question
It wouldn't be often I would use a 1/2 oz on it, I would just use my 734 / 735 probably, especially if I'm casting and dragging. But if I had to use it on the 7 footer it would just be to pitch skip up under the deep end of a dock. I have a bunch a couple rods and reels to sell, if I can get all of them sold I could probably get both rods but will have to see. I should just say screw it and buy another 734 anyways, lol, thats been my favorite rod so far. I could always get the 705, use it for jigs and close quarters frog rod if I had to.

Dobyns Champion Extreme Question
I'm the same way... and with them being x-fast now I'm thinking the 703 would be perfect. Its rare that I would throw a 1/2 oz on it, mostly 1/4-3/8 stuff, but if I need the sensitivity I'll do it. Otherwise Ill just throw it on the DC734. I have a 7'3 Helios Heavy too I use for fishing heavy grass and mats, if I get a 704 I'm going to end up with a whole arsenal of Heavy rods lol. I know the 735C is a MH/XF but it acts more like a beef stick than anything else. What would fix my problem is if I just had the money to buy both, lol. If I did have the money I actually would probably get the 703 and a 744 instead.

Dobyns Champion Extreme Question
Ok, thx for the info. Currently I'm using a DC735, DC734 as my main go to rods, I have others but those seem to always be in my hands. But I'm looking to pickup a good rod for target fishing 1/4 to 1/2 finesse jigs, 1/8-1/2 TX rigs and skipping the occasional senko for the most part. I usually lean to a softer action over anything else and now since the newer rods are more accurate maybe I will just got with a DX703. Its a hard decision between the 703 and 704.

Dobyns Champion Extreme Question
I'm looking at picking up a DX, will be a 7 footer for skipping / target fishing. Most of my experience is in the Champion line. I know the Champion 703 and 704 are fast action rods, and like most Dobyns rods seems softer than their actual rating. But from what I've read the DX 703 and 704 are X-fast tapers and what I am wondering is do they fish more like a "standard" med/Hvy or Heavy rods, or do they still seem a little softer than other brands just like the Champion line?

What weight size for Neko rigs?
Ok 1/16 gives me a good place to start, thx guys. I need to get a little scale out and weight the nails I've been using to see what they were too. If it is close I'll just stick with those. Being able to use hardware nails and get a 100 for a couple bucks is nice. I try to use my Yamamoto senkos specifically weightless, for wacky I use BPS sticks, and for Neko I seem to have better luck with trick worms and Kut tails. The Kut tail Yamamotos have a much better action / fail under the water as a Neko rig from what I've seen.

What weight size for Neko rigs?
For the longest time I've used a box of small nails from the hardware store for my Neko rigs and they have worked very well. What weight do you guys typically find to work for overall use? I want to try to get some actual nail sinkers made for this technique and don't know where to start... I primarily either use a 6" trick worm or a Yamamoto Kut tail worm when I'm Neko riggin.

DC Reels?
Just fyi, the Exsence DC is absolutely amazing. The Exsence is where they finally started fixing the issue with DC reels not being able to reliable cast lures lighter than 3/8oz without a crap ton of headaches. Even though it is meant for PE line, I throw 3/16oz shakey heads on 12lb InvizX with baby beavers and skip 1/4 finesse jigs all day and never have any issues with the DC. If you put 30lb braid on it to the #1 or #2 PE setting, the cast distance is ridiculous. The Exsence also pitches very well which some of the other DC reels didn't like to do. If you aren't going to spend the $ on the Antares or the 2015 Met DC, then go Exsence. You can even buy 2 for the price of one Antares, lol. I also prefer the Core style body... Easily the best combo I have is that Exsence DC on a DC734c. Even my Zillions don't hold a candle to that reel.

Daiwa 13 Aegis 2506 or Stradic Ci4+ 2016
The reel I currently have on it is a Pflueger Supreme XT which only weighs 6.3oz (I must say that for the money this reel is quite impressive). Balances extremely well, the Envy7'2Finesse is super light. I ended up ordering the new Shimano Stradic Ci4+ 2500 from TW last night, this reel weights 6.7oz... went to BassPro this weekend and got to hold both the 2016 and 2015 Stradics. Both are very nice, however the new Stradic is noticeably smoother. The Pflueger Supreme XT will be going on my wife's new rod that I'm ordering today, a Dobyns Champ 683SF. A shorter rod will be nice for her and it this setup will be versitile, even though she throws a 1/8oz - 3/16oz shaky head with a 6" watermelon zoom trickworm 95% of the time, lol. Trying to expand her lure usage but she is stuck in her ways after killing it at Kentucky Lake during a spring vacation trip.

Daiwa 13 Aegis 2506 or Stradic Ci4+ 2016
Again, Why don't ppl like the magseal though? Never used a reel with it.

Daiwa 13 Aegis 2506 or Stradic Ci4+ 2016
Will be used for dropshot, 1/8-3/16 shakys, and 1/8oz-ish jerkbaits (on rare occasion)... putting it on my envy7'2 Finesse rod. I do agree Xship would be nice, love it in my Chronarch Ci4. Question though, what is the issue ppl have with the magseal?

Daiwa 13 Aegis 2506 or Stradic Ci4+ 2016
Obviously the reputation of the Stradic is very good. What I'm wondering is if anyone has experience with the Daiwa Aegis and what your thoughts are? (Pretty much no English reviews of this reel that I can really find) Also has anyone gotten out with the new Stradic Ci4+? Is it as good as last years model? (I've very happy they changed the design of the handle to be kind of like the Metanium MGL)

To those who think highend braid doesn't bleed...
I agree that all lose color, however very few actually bleed so much like this to start staining the gear and drip green dye all over the place. I've never had this happen with 832 and I've bought countless spools of it. Of course when I try something new it bites me in the ass... lol. Also, I've never had this happen with PP Slick 8, but I've probably bought less than 10 spools of that.

To those who think highend braid doesn't bleed...
So over the course of only the past couple months, I've seen a lot of people raggin' on people who say their braid bleed really bad... especially on TW reviews. This post is to show it does happen whether you believe it or not as well as serve as kind of a product review. Well here you go, one of the best braid you can buy and what it looks like after 20mins of fishing in my neighborhood pond... this is 40lb SeaguarSmackdown btw... This is a pic of my the line, and the dye, getting all over my Shimano Exsence DC and DC734c. At the pond the pics were taken after 10mins of using the line. The garage pics are when I got back home, but like I said before, the line wasn't used for more than 20mins total. You can see where it even started to discolor my reel seat and the reel body itself, thank god for magic erasers and some scrubbing power. After cleaning this up, I went out and tried the same line in 30lb version on my Daiwa Zillion and DC735c. The line this time was treated with KVD Line&Lure, same thing happened. Don't have pics of that reel though, forgot my phone at the house when I went out. But that is 2 different spools I bought that bled their color like this. The line basically went from looking darker than new Sufix832 to looking like PP Spectra 8, pretty sad... Now I love InvizX and Siege, but as far as the Smackdown I'll be going back to 832.

dobyns jig/carolina rod
I was in the same predicament, so I said the hell with it and bought a 734C and a 735C. Put a Shimano Exsense DC on the 735C and a Daiwa Zillion on the 734... game over. Regardless of what u need, both rods will do it. Definitely pony up for the Champion.

2 DropShot Rods, need help deciding (EDIT: Phenix M1 BROKE!)
TackleWH apparently had a UPS Ground return label already in the box that my Roboworms came in. So I sent it back with that, and hopefully by next week they will refund the money when they get it. I also pulled the trigger on the envyBLK 7'2" ML Finesse rod... ive got envys/omenz/conc Cs/conc As/etc... and they just flat out perform for me. I've caught hundreds of fish over the past 2 years and never has a 13 product fail on me. From here on our I'm not buying stuff to "try something new", I'm just going to stick with old reliable. Oh and Phenix warranty is a pay warranty, think $50+shipping... however with it being a new rod they probably would have just replaced it for shipping cost. However, TackleWH is taking it back so don't have to worry about it now.

2 DropShot Rods, need help deciding (EDIT: Phenix M1 BROKE!)
Well I mainly got the MXF on the M1 because Phenix ratings are supposed to fish lower than whats listed... so it was more of a ML which is what I was looking for There's no way either of us would have known. It had to be damaged before shipping, or a manufacturers defect, but now I just don't know what I'm going to do. I use alot of 13 envy rods so I might just get one of the new finesse rods from them. The envy 7'1 cranking stick is one of my favorite rods I have. But the "finesse versions" of this rod, which there are 2 in the list, have a different style handle and all are 40ton Toray. This is what I was gonna get to begin with but wanted to try something new... we see how that went, LOL.

2 DropShot Rods, need help deciding (EDIT: Phenix M1 BROKE!)
This really sucks... the rod looked really good, but I just don't know if I would be comfortable getting another. Another guy posted a review on TackleWH about his reel seat falling apart and having to send it back. Maybe Phenix screwed that last lot of these rods up or maybe they are just slacking now

2 DropShot Rods, need help deciding (EDIT: Phenix M1 BROKE!)
So check this out guys... got the Phenix M1 Medium/XF. Supposed to be this super awesome, super strong rod... well, it couldn't handle a second cast of a 1/8oz tungsten weight and a 4.5 SK Finesse worm, lol. So ticked at the moment and TackleWH better pay to ship this **** back.
