  1. thanks for the help, i will try the bigger worms out. don't have a depth finder though. i also don't have a trolling motor... is that kind of necessary for this kind of fishing? i have no idea what its going to be like i have never fished it, any more feed back would help. thanks.
  2. going fishing tomorrow in the everglades off I-75... never fished it before, any suggestions?
  3. you should try cleaning the carb. thats a common problem for any older engine. if that doesn't do it (probably will) then compression check it.
  4. a black/blue chatterbait works best for me at night, spinnerbaits and all the stuff everyone elses said works great too.
  5. jigs n rattle traps for me
  6. yea i saw that on bill dance to, i probably woulda got one but i didnt see any at bass pro.

chatterbait, all the lakes i fish are like that and nothing has the vibration of a chatterbait, also an all black jitterbug is good for some topwater fun.

i used to have a pair of $4 wal mart pliers and the cut braid with ease, better than my brothers $20 rapalas, pliers are pliers, get whatever is reasonably priced.
  10. rapala has too many good lures to have only one favorite, the dts, x raps, shad raps, rattlin, and husky jerks are my favorites

any one try em yet, i saw them at bass pro but i dont see it on rapalas website yet.
  12. i have this happen alot on jitterbugs, after they miss it just let it set a few seconds then just twitch it a little and it usualy gets hit again.
  13. their casting rods seem under rated to me, and their spinning seem over rated, my med spinning is a tad hevier than my mh casting setup both made by all star.
  14. i use a split ring on poppers as well. you can get the same results with a loop knot but i dont like the knot strength on a loop, especialy on braid.
  15. dodgeguy pretty much said it all i have braid and do not have any problems with tip wrap if you think thats a big issue.
  16. i got a few of their 5 inch swim baits, they work well for the price, the key is to fish them super slow imo. their smaller swimbaits dont work for me at all though
  17. i dont see why some of them are so expensive, i like rapalas paint patterns better, and imported dont mean crap to me. i guess if they work its worth the money. i wouldnt buy one exept for the live sammys because that lure has something the competition doesnt.
  18. i like the zoom horney tods best for frogs, if you hook em right they will stay weedless through just about anything. and i like the splashing action the two tails make.
  19. 95% and you need a new one?! i think thats a little unneccisary. i dont realy see the point of sharpening a hook, there not that expensive to replace.
  20. i think shimano has good high end stuff, but there overpriced and there cheaper stuff is junk.
  21. the longest lasting and also some of the smoothest reels are penn imo, but for baitcasters i like pfleuger. and this is a bass fishing forum so pflueger got my vote.
  22. i clinch knot on braid is alot weaker than a palomar, so im with everyone else, try the palomar knot, the knot is probly where its breaking
  23. the only cranks i use are shallow my favorites are bomber modle a, manns -1, and the shad rap for jerks the husky jerk is my fav next is x rap the husky jerk in baby bass has been producing good for me lately
  24. any plastics you rip you can probly use as a trailer, and wallmart spinerbaits work pretty darn good for $1
  25. 4 lbs is the bigest iv caught on topwater, but then again the bigest i have caught is only 5 lbs. i dont see a huge difference with size on topwater
