  1. Innovis? And thanks for taking the time to share.
  2. @A-Jay this is one of the only times I can remember reading your responses and immediately thinking "that's not what I wanted to hear" ??‍♂️ Tis the season I suppose.
  3. Is it worse than usual this year? My credit card got hacked last week, and as soon as my new card arrived my bank card had been compromised. A few weeks earlier my fiancee's bank card (different bank) got hacked. I've had credit cards for 15+ years and this is the first I can remember this happening. Anyway, I would imagine a lot of us buy similar products. I'm not sure where my issues occured as I am typically careful of where I buy from, but I thought this might be a good place to post any known online retailers that should be avoided? Safe shopping!
  4. Pretty sure I stopped there with my dad on our way back to PA from Talladega... Maybe 2013?? If it's the place I'm thinking of they killed all the lights and it simulated what it would be like to be blind. I remember the glass bottom boat and the fish were pale from the lack of natural light. Pretty cool!
  5. Find a Shimano MGL that fits your hand and budget. Not a typical high end buyer but they seem to have this figured out even down into the SLX line.
  6. If this is going to be revisited, I've got a quick question to throw in. Looking at a Crestliner Storm 1700 with a 20HP. Sounds like a lot of people here have boats of similar size. For towing reasons, I'm trying to get an idea of what the total weight of the boat, motor, trailer and gear/fuel might be? Thanks for letting me hijack!
  7. Yes - and a few of the items are "pre-order" so it's really hard to say how many they get, and how many others are ahead of me. Namely the Ott Tiny 4 and Seaguar Basix which I assume will be quite popular while people want to give them a test run.
  8. First time I've had an order come from the GA location. 1 day to get to my local UPS (PA) and would have had it in 2 days total if it wasn't a holiday. Shipped a day later, and should arrive a couple days before the Cali order. Pretty good stuff ?? Backordered items are tentative for 1/31/22 but I knew that going into it.
  9. Can you define "loaded with grass"? Are we talking about bottom composition, floating mats or live vegetation? This time of year, I'm looking for deeper water or cover near deeper water. In particular, anything that will hold heat like wood and rock. As far as baits, you could drop shot and rig your bait weedless instead of nose hooking. Finesse jigs or downsized Texas rigs. Senkos. Small soft plastic swimbaits (3"ish) on a light jighead. I believe there's always a reaction bite (crank, trap, bladed jig, spinnerbait) but I generally have to slow down. Way down. Once you get bit, pick that area apart. I've had plenty of days where I'll fish for hours without a bite, then catch 3 or 4 in a row making the same cast.
  10. I own the 703C, but before I bought it I handled the 705CB on a few occasions. The 703 better fit the gap I was needing to fill (a faster action) so don't read too much into my choice. Anyway, the best way I can describe the 705CB Graphite rod is "all-around treble hook". It'll do the jobs you're asking of it. My advice when Dobyns comes up is call them. As far as product knowledge and helpful customer service is concerned, they won't steer you wrong.
  11. The 734 is a very versatile rod. With a high speed reel, it would be a great buzzbait combo. That being said, it'll work for worms, jigs, bladed jigs, swim jigs, small swimbaits, spinnerbaits. It would probably work for ripping traps in grass, but I probably wouldn't crank with it. Other end of the spectrum I would be hesitant to frog or punch, unless it was my only option. Long story short, it'll do a lot.
  12. Forgot I posted this response... I'd say that was sound advice ?
  13. AFTCO has a few of their more popular items on sale direct from their website. Got an email that sounded exclusive but it looks like it's available to anyone. Anyone have the Reaper hoodie? Is it a good deal at $50?
  14. I got nervous, threw both of my wish lists into the cart and sent it. Guess we will see what I bought when it shows up!
  15. If it makes you feel any better, a lot of us on here live in areas that freeze and we have to wait months to fish open water again.
  16. Maybe not 99% but it's typically a lot. And that accounts for the rest. Think of it as a reaction bite. When it crashes through, they grab it out of instinct. When you shake it under the canopy I assume it looks like a bait fish. Letting it soak in there is not what I would consider efficient.
  17. If you check them with the rod tip and reel down to them until you feel weight you'll confirm they have the bait and get a crisper hook set as you've eliminated any extra slack. The more line you have out the longer this might take. Likewise, if you're pitching or punching it can happen quick in close quarters combat. Do what works for you, but this has been successful for me.
  18. I had another company use the same carrier and when I got it, the tube and rod were broke. It looked to me like they tried to use a conveyor belt to move the tube when it should have been hand carried. In my situation I provided photos and they sent me all the return shipping info. They had another one on the way before I even made it to the Post Office. Hope your experience is similar and this is but a minor bump in the road.
  19. Crazy when you think about it... I can go search "how to fish a 3.8" swimbait in gold flash minnow in 63° water" and probably get at least a dozen results that are applicable. ? But really, this does help. I'll sit and watch someone flip cabbage in Florida for hours and hours while I tie knots just to cut them off and tie them again.
  20. In years prior, the official flyer will say 8am PST the day after Thanksgiving. Sign up for the email notifications to know for sure, and then refresh compulsively for 2 days ahead of time like the rest of us until it's live.
  21. Zoom Speed Worm for bites and Gambler Burner Worm when I'm around better caliber fish.
  22. Typically see an increase in mid October in our lakes that have a fall trout stock. That only lasts a few days before they begin to disappear into the woods.
  23. If they publish one more YouTube video and mention the leaves beginning to change and the great fall bite that's coming, I might lose my mind. I'm like dude, I mulched all my leaves already and we got snow this morning ?
  24. I can usually find pretty good prices on airfare from mid-January until the end of February. Usually by then I've cleaned and organized all my gear changed out hardware on my tackle. All the cabin fever activities, if you will. I go to warmer weather, and hope to bring it back with me.
  25. Well, that's a pretty overwhelming response for the RES. Looks like I'll have to give them another shot. Thanks for all the replies ??
