Strong winds on Okeechobee
I was wondering the same thing with the FLW tournament starting tomorrow and the recent tragedy. Going down wind might be a smooth run in the AM, but "Victory at Sea" coming back, I wonder if they might be more conservative and postpone it.

Where in Florida should I go for big pond bass?
If you search the site, there is a lot of specific data depending on where you are located. In general, use google maps for your area to locate ponds and start trying them out, almost every body of water holds bass, though I've found the older ponds that are at least 10 years old will have bigger fish. Good luck!

Horsing/Skiing fish to the boat

Daughter is moving to Florida
I lived there for about 10 years until last year. Generally most of PSL is pretty good, it all comes down to budget. There are high end areas, and average area's. Tradition up Gatlin Blvd is the high end zone, while west of the river and north of Port Saint Lucie Blvd might be considered lower average. anywhere south of PSL blvd or west of the turnpike or east of the river is pretty good. You can PM me if they have more specific locations they are considering, I can also give some suggestions for bank fishing bass in that area. You can find guides out of Roland Martin Marina or up near city of Okeechobee around Scott driver ramp. Check Okeechobee fishing HQ or Fastbreak in that area they can probably provide guide info. Ken

Fish get unhooked as you reel them in
My guess is you need a stronger hook set. If you are using a very parabolic or slow action rod, it may not be getting the hook fully penetrated into the fish, so a headshake easily pops the hook loose. Try getting a faster action rod (stiffer graphite type) to use when fishing worms and soft plastics.

Lake O ( east side)
If I remember correctly, the last time water was pumped north into Lake O, it turned into a nasty algae bloom. I hope that doesn't happen again.

Three lure choices
1. rattle trap and or square bill for murky or clear water search bait 2. TR worm or senko with or without weight, can also be used for light pitching 3. Top water hollow frog or swim frog

Lake O ( east side)
I would suggest driving a bit farther and fishing out of Scott Driver or Harney Pond. Find clean water at the outer grass edges or fish the river out of Scott Driver Be careful of the bottom, the lake is really low

Port St Lucie Bass Fishing Help
For local boating maybe south to the palm beach lakes. PSL has a lot of bank fishing options though. Never tried it, but you could go above the locks into fresh water on the St Lucie south fork?

Both FLW or Bass Federation have divisions where Co-Anglers can enter.

Fishing Older "Aged" Reservoirs
I always try to find older bodies of water. Newer ponds or reservoirs may be stocked with fish, but they have had less time to grow, while your older ones may have some real trophy fish in them that have had years to grow.
