  1. Agree unless someone were to come close in another boat and start filming you without permission? Where do you draw the line? Generally if someone points a camera at me, I'm going to approach and see what's up, but typically won't mind. I think the part that gets on everybody's nerves is the anonymity of the operator.
  2. Only a matter of time before some type of legal ramifications end up in court regarding drone usage. Is it legal to spy on someone fishing in a possible secret spot? Is it legal to take one out with a cast or shot? Its a hobby/toy that has grown beyond its original bounds into a wide array of possible legal trouble including FAA.
  3. Try creature baits, lizard or craw, sounds like she is nesting
  4. I have room for the last resort option, but no enclosed storage, it would be on a slab, you could also assemble a carport tent over it if you wanted. Let me know if interested. Ken P.S. Worst case, its an option until you can locate an indoor storage. BTW the next bass anglers meeting is Monday June 13 at 7:00 pm if interested.
  5. Kiddie spin-cast rod tournament, the short mini ones. seriously, years ago, my daughter caught a 5 lb jack on a tigger rod, we initially thought she was snagged on the bottom.
  6. I believe it comes from the "Banana Boat" days and something to do with the large spiders that tended to be in with them.
  7. No Bananas, nuff said. Carry-over from saltwater.
  8. TR or wacky Senko, unless that is what I'm using primary
  9. That which you survive only makes you stronger and wiser, but dang!?!
  10. I like the green pumkin with chartreuse tip, I think the bright color gets their attention. Ken
  11. Don't look at them in the eye! First time being caught embarrassment! Seriously I haven't experienced this, sounds like something with their nervous system?
  12. Not from the area, but the standard method is to look at the area with google maps and earth and start trying them out. Ken
  13. A cold front came through today with lots of rain. Yesterday the temp was 80, today its 65 and expected to drop to 63 by tomorrow morning and more rain forecast for tomorrow then warming again. The home lake was clear and warm and will see what all the rain did when I get home from work. For education and fun, how about making suggestions for productive lures/technique after this weather event and I'll report what was successful fishing tomorrow evening? For my vote if the water is dirty, then a rattle trap or spinner bait, if the water is still clear then finesse worms and wacky senko's (current effective pattern) Ken
  14. Dang! Did you get a second mortgage to finance all those Yamamoto's!
  15. If you're in the market for a boat, you might consider something like a bay boat that could be used in saltwater as well, you are moving to an incredible fishery along the coast, as well as freshwater lakes. I'm not sure how resistant to salt corrosion a pure bass boat is.
  16. I don't know about bug spray, but I've found sun screen can adversely affect a bite and will even kill off live bait if it's on your hands and you reach into a livewell.
  17. I'll throw an invite out to you, seeing you live in Palm City. The East Coast Bass Anglers club meets every 2nd Monday at the Bass Pro Shop in Port Saint Lucie 7PM, Next Monday 9th May http://www.eastcoastbassanglers.com I've recently joined and they are a great group of guys and fish Lake O several times a year. Ken
  18. Use the turnpike when possible, the tolls are worth the improved traffic flow
  19. The other day I was shopping for a frog and trying to decide what color to get and I noticed something that all topwater lures seem to have in common. From the fishes point of view they are pretty much all the same color on the bottom. The frogs ranged from white to yellow. Does it even matter what color the top of a frog or topwater lure is? They look great, but the fish is not seeing them from above Ken
  20. Its been said "10% of the anglers catch 90% of the fish" is not an absolute but I've witnessed it many times and been on both sides of the coin. One way I've found get out of a slump is to study the anglers who are catching fish and imitate their methods. This works for general sport fishing in a group but with bass angling and tournaments its particularly challenging because your are on your own or with a co-angler only.
  21. Scary, Maybe keep a PFD on you?
  22. This isn't defining a methodology just an interesting observation. Generally bites or structure are pretty obvious anyway and swings are free Ken
  23. Well something on the lure smells like bass after a strike, in particular a rattle trap.
  24. craziest thing I see are a single 1+ oz tungsten weight for more than $15
  25. My son BareHook Jr. made an interesting observation/discovery, a lot of times when fishing, we feel possible strikes that turn out to be from structure such as rocks or grass, but when a bass hits and doesn't get hooked it leaves behind evidence in the form of smell (trace slime on lure). When you reel in your lure it will smell like a bass, but structure and such it will not have the bass smell. Ken
