  1. Every time I put my kayak on top of my car, it makes an annoying buzzing sound once we approach 30 mph or faster. I'm assuming this is from the cords used to strap it down. This weekend we are bringing it up to Minnesota and I need to minimize the sound as much as I can so that we don't go crazy on the 8 hour drive. Below is a somewhat helpful image of how we strap the kayak. There are cords that also run from the front bumper to the bow of the boat, then we have the two straps that go inside the car through the doors and over the boat. We also have a cord from the back bumper to the back end of the kayak. Any questions, please ask. Thanks for your help!
  2. Bringing it out without anything on it to get used to it soon. Might have to bring a fishing pole, it's hard to leave it that home.
  3. Yeah I won't be adding stuff until I'm positive I like it and until I know what I'm doing.

  5. I've been looking for Kayaks for a long while and I finally stumbled upon a Kayak that I cannot find a bad review on. The eMotion camouflage stealth angler 123" is my choice for my new adventure. It's sturdy and affordable for my first kayak. I got it on sale for $370, I found it other places for near $600. What do you think? I think it has everything I need to go enjoy a few hours on the water. Can't wait to get out!
  6. I don't think she was spawning. It was right off a steep ledge off a fishing jetty. She was just chillin behind a log. Could be wrong.
  7. I was out at the lake today hoping to reel in a few hogs and they wouldn't bite! There was a 7 pounder just chillin next to a log maybe 5 feet from the shore and she wouldn't go after my senko, spinner or crankbait. There was 2 of those today that I saw. I also saw another maybe 2.5 pounder who was very active and was eating from a school of minnows or something very very small and I tried on him but he'd just look at my bait and swim away, he wasnt interested in the red worm my little sister had on either. I did catch a few very small bass but these big ones won't bite! Any suggestions? Thank you.
  8. Tie it to the top of your car. They sell sets at Walmart I believe. I'm getting into kayak fishing and I found one for $20.
  9. It's so hard to wait but that's what I'm going to do. I'll see if anything pops ups locally on Craigslist and I'll keep my eye on sales at local stores. Thanks for the help everyone! I appreciate it.
  10. I was also looking at the eMotion Camo stealth angler (10 ft) and it was on sale for $379. Should I keep looking or is this a decent kayak? The reviews I found were good.
  11. I haven't had the chance to sit in it but I will this weekend. I'm excited to get out on the water!
  12. Thanks for the reply! I take safety seriously and I will definitely be wearing my pfd at all times.
  13. I'm planning on buying my first fishing kayak this weekend. I'm only 16 so I'm on a small budget and I came across the Sun Dolphin journey 10ss fishing kayak for $260. I thought that was a great deal. I thought I'd check with someone who knows a bit more about fishing kayaks than me so I came here. Have you heard anything good or bad about these? Thanks!
  14. Wow! Amazing work! Very talented!
  15. I'm having a hard time finding some info on fishing before warm fronts. It's been pretty mild and very cold (20-40 degrees) the last few days. Very windy two days ago. Tomorrow it's supposed to rain almost all day but it's going to get up to 60 degrees. Will the water still be too cold? Should I even give it a try? If I should go out what should I use? I have added a picture of the forecast for tomorrow morning. Thanks so much!
