I just picked up a Daiwa Coastal a few weeks ago at that price point that would be great for your applications.

Top water wildlife annnnnnd...they gone!
I brought my canoe one year to a small, mid river retention pond in WV, where the were visible signs of beaver activity. Well, it didn't take long before the curious and somewhat hostile beavers wanted to see what's up. One swam under the bottom of the canoe and tail smacked it hard. That and the giant snapping turtles definitely kept me aware.

Worm Gear?
Oil all the way. I cringe when I purchase a new reel that's worm gear is caked with grease, although I kind of understand why they do it if it's going to sit on a shelf.

Exactly what I was thinking! I saw baller posted his reel and was sitting here at work playing with mine and thought they match pretty well.

Maryland's Who's who!
Caught 3 on a buzzbait at Lake Elkhorn this evening. The first one had some some black spots on it which I've seen before, but I don't remember seeing them on the fins.

I think a black handle nut and screw will finish it off.

Rate the song above you
I haven't listened to much tool, but those guys are unique and talented for sure. ^8. Here's something similar but a bit harder. Song title makes sense here too.

So I’ve never caught a fish on a treble hook...
I agree on the pop r. I've been fishing them a good bit this spring. Nothing like that perfect twitch and the accompanying GALUUMP. Music to my ears!

How long will you let a bait sit?
Haha! The visual is cracking me up.

Crank bait
You mean besides putting them in separate utility boxes? Take a paint pen and mark the depth on the belly.

Finesse Topwater
LC Kelly J floating prop bait. Maybe not exactly what you're asking about, but I picked one up on sale for a buddy of mine and got to throw it a few times. I liked to slight pause near cover and then rip it a few times. Will make more commotion than the tt and weighs about 3/16.

T3 platform, 34mm spools
Got an amazing deal on a BNIB T3 Ballistic last year. Finally got it opened up, cleaned, replaced bushings with bearings, the whole deal, etc. Took it out Sunday to throw around on my new Ardito med travel rod. Got a Rays diy BFS spool from an awesome member here last year, and wanted to try it out. Found a few spools of Gliss in 8 and 12 lb from Wal-Mart on sale for $3.50 a spool, so I picked them up and spooled it with the 12. Read A-jays thread from a while back on this line, and honestly think it might be too thin. Anyways, I've never been too much of a finesse fisherman, usually 1/4oz is as low as I go. Well, it was too windy to throw the rays spool, especially for the first time, so luckily I brought my MX spool with 12lb big game. Ended up catching a nice 14" bass on a 3/8 red black chatterbait, first of the year. So my question is; have any of you guys/gals used these spools (left to right: rays bfs, sv103, tdz 103 gigas) in the T3 platform and what do you think? By the way, I have two R+ springs that have not been installed yet. Which spools would benefit from this, and what is your experience? I have 3 med rods, a 7' Carbonlite 2.0, 7' Cronos, and aforementioned 7' Ardito. Plenty of different MH rods. My smaller diameter line right now consists of: Gliss-8 and 12lb, trilene xt-6lb, big game-8 and 12lb, power pro 30lbs Thanks.

Over 100mm handle?
Was wondering if any of you use a handle that's over 100mm for bass fishing. I recently acquired a 120mm handle through a reel purchase on eBay. The seller didn't specify how long it was, although it looked pretty big. I was pretty surprised how big it was in person and and apprehensive about using it, especially since I was running an 80mm handle on my swimbait reel. Well it looked too pretty and matched the reel great, so I took it out last weekend and fished some swimbaits earlier in the morning. I've got to say it wasn't strange feeling at all, quite the opposite. I could slow roll a 185mm shine glide smooth as butter. I'm sold. Anyone else have bigger handles on their reels? What are your opinions?

Lure ID
My buddy found this while we were fishing today. Any idea what brand it is? Has a pretty close body style to a mb vision 110. Thanks.

T3 mx with tdz spool
Anyone throw a tdz spool in their T3 mx? Any increase in performance over the stock spool? Thanks.

TDZ new in box eventual value
I recently bought a NIB tdz 103p, (with extra 6.3 gears and spare gigas spool) and was wondering what you guys think it could be worth down the road? I've enjoyed collecting things since I was young; my first real passion was xmen/ marvel cards in the early 90's. My 10 or so mint complete series aren't worth squat...and that's okay. I didn't collect them to make money. I would bust this puppy right open if I hadn't acquired a tdz 103h a few months ago. Anyways, curious what you guys think. If anything, it could be some interesting trade fodder for whatever crazy reels come out in the future. Thanks!

Votex handle knobs
Got a TD Z 103h on the way, just browsing aftermarket parts, looking for a project this winter. Anyone have these votex aluminum knobs? Interested in how they feel. Been looking at all the great threads on here about upgrading these reels. Already have carbontex drag and abec 5's on the way. I've never replaced spool bearings before, but since they also fit my cvz 253, I figured why not try them out. Thanks.
