  1. Dang.Must have been a full moon or something.
  2. It doesn't affect the natural presentation of it?
  3. Thanks for all the help.Still assessing what to add etc.
  4. Nice.We all need a break sometimes!!
  5. And it's such a productive lake for bass and always has been. Its a numbers lake but I get a lot of 3-6 pound fish. The main thing is keeping on a chore schedule .If I'm caught up on that, then the wife doesn't mind the fishing. But I can do a little casting between chores to satisfy the urge to fish.
  6. The fish love the ymsnkos but there only good for 1-2 fish and they tear up.The 5 inch ones usually last for 2-3 fish.
  7. I worked with temps before doing sod and grass plugs.I was the acting forman but not the boss. The first time there were 4 of us, me and 3 temps.I worked as hard as I could, just to get it over with. Two of them were slow but one of them was OK.That one was a little slow mentally but a decent worker.we actually became friends and by Gods grace I was able to help him turn his life around. I had another temp who was a good worker and a lot of fun.Not an addict.Worked with me probably a year and then his wife got arrested for letting an old lady die in her care and then collecting her checks indefinitely. So my worker got all his wife's money for himself and quit. The worst one I had was the above guys replacement.I would drill plug holes and he would start putting them in.Now this is not rocket science.I would be drilling holes for 5 minutes or so, and he would have put in maybe 8 plugs while I was drilling. And most of them weren't put in right. So I'd have to go behind him and fix them.So I would end up doing most of the work.We were at one house with 3 kids and the mom. They begged to help and mom said it was OK, so I let them. The 3 year old did considerably better at planting than my worker! .
  8. I look at it like this.Just think of all the time I save by not having to drive somewhere to fish !
  9. I agree.I grew up on the south side .Still live there. There are dozens of ponds and small lakes between the river and the beach. If you can get into old sawgrass there's some hawgs in there but its private. You could also try the public fish management area on AIA between Butler and Beach Blvd. The big pond in front of fccj is good also.If you don't mind a little drive, try the ponds at julington creek plantation.Just fish the common areas and stay out of yards and nobody should bother you. These ponds are stocked and some fish up to 12 pounds have been caught there. If you have a yak, try some of the creeks. And the saltwater fishing is excellent too!As for baits, see above .Its almost exactly what I use.Any soft plastic in watermelon seed or w.red works well.I have caught a few on a bass pattern crankbait also.Oh, and try the pond at baymeadows regional park.Caught some nice fish in there in the j. Boat.
  10. Its a sit on.I'll try to post a pic.tomorrow.So far I just put a small bait bag between my legs in front of me
  11. Had a good weekend.Did chores on sat.but I'd fish out back a little between chores.Caught a few on sat.off the dock and trying out my new yak.My son came by and imediately got one that was around 2.75.I noticed some nice bream hanging around and caught 10 or so.Almost snagged a huge carp that was passing by. So on Sunday took mom to church, got home and my daughter had grilled steaks and taters.Waited an hour or so and went swimming and kayaking around with the g.kids. I'd fish between activities and ended up catching 4-5 just messing around at the dock. They are really wanting the zoom flukes now in wat.red.Then my son comes by with some whiting and croakers he caught at the river mouth.Cleaned them and watched a couple of "Alone" episodes before turning in for the night.I'm blessed to have a place to live with my family and fish there too!
  12. Nice fish Chewie !
  13. Thanks.I've only fished twice out of one.I know NOTHING about them. Its around 10- 12 feet. There's just not much room for anything but me,that I can reach anyway.Im sure some kind of rod holders would help.Just need some storage ideas I guess. It was really cool to get out in it.I took it out for an hour or so, and it seemed harder and harder to paddle.I thought it was because I was going back against the wind. When I got back home I realized it was full of water. Then my grandson suggested that maybe it needed a plug.Duh!Why Tyler, I think it needs aplug my boy!Like I said I know nothing about them!
  14. I just got a used 2 man kayak for 80.00 over the weekend. Had to try it out and caught a couple. The yak is very stable and easy to control. If y'all know some accessories to recommend I'd appreciate it.
  15. I direct tie everything. And almost never use any weight either.
  16. I will tell you I was not trying to break any laws.Shotgun went off by accident and a pellet hit the gas tank. .
  17. Without a doubt the dumbest thing I ever did about fishing was when I shot my gas tank while preparing for next days trip with my boss.Don't ask .
