Maryland's Who's who!
Nice fish bunnie lab! I've only gotten sinks so far at lake Elkhorn. Lendiesel great score on those rods, I love mine, won them all in raffles but probably still paid closer to cost.

Maryland's Who's who!
Yeah I got some bait wraps off Amazon for some of the skinnier swimbaits. I went cheap and they don't hold the bigger baits. But it makes it easy to add to my bag without a while nother Plano case. I threw a swaver 168 today and really like that action also.

Maryland's Who's who!
Let me know how you do on the hudds. I have a 68 and a 8inch I started throwing last year with no success. But have had some success on gantarels and other big glide baits. Got a 316 wake Jr I can't wait to try and a deps 250. Trying out some ponds in Delaware this weekend. Nice fish! I fish there a lot and knew there was some big ones in there but the best I have done is just shy of 4.

Went to Lake Elkhorn today... fished chatterbait, jerkbait, and mepps spinner. Skunk. I am awful at cold water fishing - lol.

Maryland's Who's who!
I haven't really done 'surf fishing' per se, but this last fall was the first time I fished for striper. I live on the Magothy and spent some time trying some salt/brackish water between dundalk and the magothy and had a few successful outings. Its so weird how rockfish can be there one day on a tide change and then not the next day. But it was tons of fun when I did get into them. My favorite 3 baits to throw were the heddon spook, storm chug, and a 1/2 rattle trap. I hope there is another run of them into the magothy in the spring, because it was a ton of fun. Ill let you know if they come through again on the way back...

Maryland's Who's who!
Funny you say that Bunnielab, I must have picked the right few days to fish because it has been a grind for the last week. Ive caught a few in the 12 - 16 inch range but nothing like the previous week. This is my best from that hot stretch...

Maryland's Who's who!
Nope, just finding public parks on the rivers to fish from and having some success here and there.

Maryland's Who's who!
This is my first year striper fishing and the last week has been on fire. Have caught probably 20 fish in 4 trips but only 3 or 4 legal size. Man do they fight harder than i'm used to.

Maryland's Who's who!

Maryland's Who's who!
So I finally got out there today and got my first smallie! Man, stream/river fishing is a totally different experience from pond hopping. I had a great time. I got him on a heddon torpedo. Looking for some more tips, etc... for tackle and lures at this time of year. I was using my lightest setup I have...12lb mono on a shimano spinning reel and medium rod. Should I go lighter? Can I use braid? (hate memory). Also saw a snakehead...and cast at his direction a few times and nothing.

Maryland's Who's who!
That sucks but sadly not surprised. Was a nice area 30 year ago but sadly started going downhill fast in the late 90s early 2000s that made my family move away.

Maryland's Who's who!
There is a pond in Wakefield if you havent tried that yet. I havent fished it in years but it used to have good fish in it a looooong time ago. Besides that head down to Smallwood State Park there are some spots at the park and also some other roads that have a public area you can fish from. I think there is a park in St Marys County with a lake/pond but I dont know how the fishing is... You could also drive 30 min up the road to Bowie, tons of spots there.

LOL! Nice one!

Maryland's Who's who!
Man I used to live right near there 15 or so years ago. Wasn't that serious about fishing back then, the only time I saw people fishing was when the trout was stocked. I would like to try it out for some smallmouth though, thanks for sharing BunnieLab!

Hangry for huddlestons.
Nice, I guess I gotta keep throwing mine. No luck so far. I fish a lot of shallow water with tons of milfoil so its been tough.

6am Froggin
Nice I have been doing the same thing for 2+years regarding going at the crack of down before work (at least 2-3times a week). Also, almost exclusively topwater from spring until winter. Torpedos, Frogs, mice, buzzbaits, ploppers... Bend those hooks up a little on the frogs, that will help with hook ups. I am sure someone on here did a tutorial if not check youtube. Looks like a perfect frogging pond/lake. Tight Lines!

MD Bank Bass Fishing Tourney?
Ah...should be packed then. Think I will find somewhere else to fish and I should have the area to myself

Finesse Frogging... Going to change the game!
Been doing this for a couple years as well (not replacing the hooks, just using the smallest frogs). Yes it catches dinks but also catches bigger ones. Some of the best luck ive had is just throwing it under some branches and letting that little frog sit for 20 or so seconds then whooomp. The fish in my favorite lake seem to respond more to the light tap tap tap of the smaller frogs than the more commotion that the bigger ones produce. Great post!

MD Bank Bass Fishing Tourney?
That's interesting...may try and make it to the tournament. Sometimes they are fun sometimes a pain as there are 10 guys within 10 feet of each other at the same spot. Either way, good luck!

Maryland's Who's who!
Tried Diamond Ridge yesterday and had my best bass of the summer at 3.5. Only one fish on the evening though.
