  1. Thanks everyone... Wasnt sure if it was damaged or just gunked up. I have it sitting in simple green and then will clean it out and see. Didnt notice any issues before, but also hadnt used this reel in at least a couple years.
  2. Pulled out an old Abu Garcia Revo Inshore (the first year model) and decided to give it a good cleaning and upgrade anything (drag/bearings/etc...) that needed to be done to return it to good condition. Not sure what this is called, but should I replace it? In the schematic it doesnt separate from the side plate so I would need a whole new side plate. Any advice is appreciated, I am not even sure what this part does.

  4. So...i just checked the WSSC site today hoping i would see some news that they are ahead of schedule and would be reopening in the spring. Nope. Pushed back to November at some point (so basically 2020 spring), i thought they said summer 2019 at one point. I caught some really good fish the month before they closed it and was looking forward to taking my kayak out there. Oh well. Interesting tidbit that i bet others know already... While i got lost in the youtube/google search wormhole looking up things about Triadelphia, apparently there is still remnants of the Triadelphia city left under the water? Someone actually said you can see tops of some buildings when the water is very low. Anyone know anything about that? That would be cool to see. Google maps shows it pretty low but no buildings - lol.
  5. Ok thanks... I think I have heard of them...
  6. Its Roctober/Rockvember...
  7. Lighter/smaller sizes. I can crank the 25 and 30(more the 30) down pretty good.
  8. It is my favorite by far ( really the whole line up from the 25 to the 50 is). In my experience the lighter you go the deeper you can crank it down and that's what they want sometimes. Another good way is just letting it sit for a while on top and twitching it a different rates but in spot. Tight lines!
  9. Thanks guys!
  10. Can anyone recommend bodies of water in Salisbury? Im heading there next weekend probably and want to fish around there a bit, will probably bring my kayak too if you know of any kayak access. Thx!
  11. I really like all the sizes depending on the situation . Most of mine have come on the 25 and 30 this year so far. 25 is basically swimming crank.
  12. Yep thats why I throw the spro rats most of the time. Afraid to lose my more expensive stuff unless i know the underwater structure of a location really well. I tried once a couple years ago, think i caught one little dink on a short outing. I caught about 6-8 little ones at Greenbelt on Monday. Action is definitely heating up in spots.
  13. Topwater has been good also with all the rain...at least at Elkhorn. Lol...i was throwing a Phat Pat's Perch last spring and caught a decent pickerel at the shoreline in the lillies. Was so scared he was going to break me off... Since Pat doesnt officially sell them without a waiting list or one of the raffle groups on fb, demand is high and prices are high... havent thrown it since, but really like the action of it. Convinced myself to start throwing this year or sell it.
  14. Don't know how they would know if anyone is playing dumb or not since there are no signs posted. Would also hope they target other issues like people leaving trash, kids/adults defacing property, and the old man who chooses to urinate into the water near the playground every morning at 6:50.
  15. I kinda learned on Elkhorn a few years ago, so I go there when I need a confidence boost even though it still stumps me now and then. Seems to go in cycles. One year I used topwater from April until October, last year topwater was a bit harder and did better with spinnerbaits and hard swimbaits. Won't lie, havent gotten a permit yet either. Never had an issue and I always try to leave it better than I found it, steer clear of interfering with people walking around the lake or shore fisherman and have had no issues. Also found it odd that there is no signage about getting a permit at the Lake...and I know people who live there who dont have pemits - lol.
  16. Nice! I stuck a few on the gantarel a season or two ago, really need to get back to it. A fun bait. Finally got my first LM of 2018 after 2 skunk outings. Took my yak out on Lake Elkhorn as that is my 'go to' lake when i dont know what to do to catch em, lol. Nothing big, but caught about 8-10 little bass who went after my inline spinner. This was the first one.
  17. Anyone seen any spring rock in the tributaries yet? I know of one guy who is killing them on the Severn. I keep trying from the beach/dock on the Magothy and nothing yet. Maybe just toooo flat where I am (5' probably 75 yards out). Most parts of the Severn seem to have a deeper center trough, not that far from the beach. Would take out my yak to the deeper area between gibson and dobbins but have a torn tendon and think that would be pushin' it right now - lol.
  18. Think im going to try some brackish action during this warm up period later this week/into next. Hope to get some pick and maybe a resident rockfish. Will let you all know and good luck.
  19. Check out Lifetime Tamarack Angler kayak at walmart. Currently around 200, but i have seen them get as low as 130. I own it and love it for the price. Stable, tracks well, and easy to transport.
  20. Nice! Was just a matter of time. Someone told me that they saw one by the bridge.
  21. Got my pb large mouth at Triadelphia before it shut down. Trying to find another spot with decent sized fish. Heard Rocky Gorge is almost impossible to shore fish now. Did good a Elkhorn Friday morning but its hard to go from avg 2.5 to 1's and be happy about it lol.
  22. Wilde Lake is decent...some good size fish but may take some figuring out. Over half the lake is shut down from fishing due to a "Swan Refuge" (even though I havent seen a swan there in years). Lake Elkhorn has numbers but usually not many of good size (although fish over 5 lb have been caught). Also Elkhorn is usually full of grass but weedless presentations work well. I've caught a little bit at Lake Roland around Towson, but dont have it figured out yet. A small pond that is fun is Patterson Park in Baltimore City. Can usually get something there on a worm.
