  1. Caffeine is a hell of a drug.
  2. Anybody work for a power company on here? If so, you should cut the power out Friday for a few minutes just to mess with people, in my opinion. It would be one awesome prank!!!!!
  3. Luxury is just a funny subject to me. I have tremendous amount of respect for people that came from nothing to multimillionaires and beyond. I idolized a lot of them and their hard work. People that inherited money from their parents or whatever then think they're all that are the ones that annoys the living crap out of me. Unlike other people, I don't see how spending money on goods to show social class is such an impressive feat. Human psychology about spending money and luxurious names are funny things. I'm work my butt off and hope things fall in place where I will achieve the results of the people I idolized. I'll use the money to travel to amazing places and/or leave it alone and live a quiet comfortable life without paycheck-to-paycheck.
  4. It must be the way I was raised, but I never understood people's fascination with luxury cars. It just a fabricated metal with a "luxury" name.
  5. One of my former classmate that goes to UT posted this on his Twitter this morning: http://www.govolsxtra.com/news/2012/dec/06/ad-vols-head-coach-posted-craigslist/ I had a good chuckle. So clever.

  8. Saban will not go to NFL. He won't have the same level of control in the NFL as he does at Alabama or at college level.
  9. "It's the fact they're adventures, cultured, and open to extermination. Three keys to achieving intelligence."-my former accounting classmate.
  10. I had mine for 2 years then it red ringed. My first two years I had Xbox expose out in the opening with air constantly circulating around it. Then two months before it red ringed I had it moved to a enclosed area where behind the Xbox it lacks air flow and the system overheated. Could it be possible you put the Xbox in a space where it lacked air flow? i had the Xbox fix by some local guy rather than going through Microsoft and I've since placed the Xbox back on an area with constant air flow and yet to red ring..Same Xbox too....
  11. I got a quick question in regard to the unions. Totally off topic, but I"m dying to know... Was there ever a time where union workers ever had a contract where they would only produce x amount of units per week? If a company had an unexpected upswing in demand and the workers had to produce more units per week than their contracted stated they would walk off the job, instead of working overtime.. Someone said this to me and I don't trust it.. No way any parties would ever agree to such contract.(least in my mind) I talked to a cost accountant for another company who has experience dealing with unions he said he hasn't heard of any one having such contract.
  12. I don't always play game console, but when I do it's Xbox 360. I stream my Netflix to the 360 too.
  13. Betcha Flowers Food would be interested in buying some facilities from Hostess specifically the ones that produced bread. Flowers and Merita each have a bakery within 40 miles of each other and Flowers have plan to shut down this bakery. I wouldn't be surprise if Flowers continue with shut down plan and buy the Merita facility due to its size and proximity from the interstate, which gives it better logistic to warehouses around region. I don't think Flowers can buy the brand without being blocked or hassled by the FTC...Maybe they can, I don't know enough about how FTC block and approve these kind of transactions.
  14. I'm assuming I'm not getting such notice because I don't have any friends to lose....
  15. CEO can't raise it himself. Board of director gotta approve. I thought that was an asinine move by the board...can you imagine the conversation? CEO: "I created a net loss in previous year but due to my work ethics I deserve a raise." The board: "fair point. Here you go!" *roll eyes*
  16. The board approval of a nice compensation package for the CEO sealed their fate, maybe? There going to come a time where CEOs and Board needs to quit complaining about high labor costs and take a pay cut themselves to salvage the future of the company. (it probably never happen in my lifetime which is sad.) I'm curious to know what Hostess market share is, if Hostess has majority share compared to its competitors then their cost is out of control, if it in the minority side then they were failing all across the board. I know they are losing in the bread market in this area by a country mile. Wonder Bread brand is getting dominated by the Nature Own brand in this region. Anyway, my dad works for its competitor and his bakery is on verge of a shut down. They laid off a 60 some employees and this news may have saved the bakery he works at..
  17. Take plenty of ammo!!
  18. Long as a company think they can get away with it, they will do that. Another example, the price of coffee bean has falling 30% this year and yet the price of cup and bags you buy at the store has remain steady... I think it a standard business practice that isn't written in stone. Oh, well. Here my theory, I'm going to assume small gas station owners don't have a broker working for them to purchase gasoline. Instead there a wholesaler or entity that buys it from refineries using futures, then they sell it to gas station owners at a small markup to make a profit from the future contracts and then gas station do the same. The reason for such quick spike, in my observation, in the mind of a logical and rational business person the price of oil moves so quickly due to being priced globally and many other variables that didn't exists years ago. So, it's easier to increase price quickly in order to keep revenue increasing in order to purchase the next delivery. When prices fall, they won't adjust downward until there is a long downward trend. When the commodity itself is falling, you can keep price the same or slowly adjust it and still purchase the next delivery. When it's rising, the rapid rise at retail is to assure the stores can still purchase the product in the future. Looking at their books, it will show their profit margin isn't off the chart. In fact, one rumor has it a store's profit margin was only 10% as an entire store... In the mind of a store owner, this is a rational business move and to the outside world, it stinks. A lot of products works like this, oil is just more watched than anything else. Take my coffee bean comment as an example. No one noticed bean price dropped, but everyone and their brothers will know oil and gas is moving.
  19. I'm on my phone, but next time I'm on computer using personal time I'll explain. I been reading into it, a lot.(I get paid to analyzed.) I been developing some theories why such long lag in gas price.(it just fascinate me, and has to be a rational reason.) Now, if only a gas station hand over its books to me, I can prove it... still waiting on that request. Lol. I be in virgina for next two days, my theories will continue to be circulating my head for entire road trip.. I can't help it, my mind just loves deep business/economic/finance thoughts.
  20. Here, this would prove my previous post: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/46580113/ns/business-oil_and_energy/t/countries-cheapest-gasoline/
  21. Oil is priced globally..... those oil producing nations the gasoline is subsidized or controlled by their government. They don't generally operate under a free market like we do.. just saying.

  23. LSU's offense gave us a fit, they really took advantage of the off-week and got better. They played their heart out. With that said, what a game!! Mad Hatter's gamble failed every time!! Love it! If you're a college football fan, this had it all! Failed gamble, adversity, turnovers, questionable calls, and both teams just kept pounding each other til the final whistle. McCarron was absolutely clutch on that final drive. LSU gashed us at times on the ground and we did the same. It looked like both teams gave every energy they had to create those holes against two of the best defenses in all of college football... What a game.
