  1. Great stuff. Planning on using straight braid on other lures. Mono 12 lb. on some. Mostly using on what 4-6 ft. FC leaders? any suggestions on alternatives on All fluorocarbon main line? I have some 10lb. FC. Perfect knot works on FC #20 ? Rapala Knot ? Good on braid and FC? Big stripers and LMB are in the lakes. Thanks,
  2. Hey, when you tie, straight to jerk bait's and top water's eye, (without) split ring. What is the best loop style knot for FC, Mono, and braid? Seen Duncan knot, isn't that the same as uni-knot? If I used that knot wouldn't it slip/slide tight to lure? Going on fishing trip the end of week. Really would like to hear from my buds........ Thanks in advance,
  3. Just a thought, since your comfortable with Texas rigging, maybe try Carolina rig (1/4 oz. bullet weight, before swivel about 9-12 inches up the line) with floating worm, t-rigged/weightless on the hook end. and drag along bottom, makes worm do cool things, above grass/junk like a drop shot. Good Luck, remember just try to have fun.....
  4. Thank you, good hearing from you, Would you be able to share, where you get reel handles? And are the ones you use, straight, or curved? APPRECIATE YOUR IN-PUT.
  5. Dumbassfishin, You caught a BASS over 15 pound!!!!! Wow, don't try anything new. Keep doing, what your doing, most Pro anglers, not to mention regular weekend fisherman in the world, have never caught anything near that size.... Here is what you are looking for: Drop shot: When weeds and plant life, cover the bottom. That is the step-up, that will hold your bait up above weeds. Use plastics that float. Shakey Head: when the bottom is not, so full of weeds/plant life. Jigs, T-rig, and finesse rigs same type. (NOW, Not saying, fish will not see bottom rig in grass) Tight lines
  6. Thank you for comment, Talking about putting two and two together! That was, my thought process, when I first joined this site. Sense then, with all the great informative answers/opinions received from members, it has morphed into tidal migrations and learning my pray. Not to mention navigation & boat positioning. I'd love to fish Potomac River, once I'm more educated. I'm Fishing on Lake Moultrie & Lake Marion down in S.C. I have family & home in that region, most friends fish inter-coastal waterways and off-shore. (guess, I'll be getting Boston Whaler, in future) Since, I'm novice boater, I've tricked out, my New Tracker, Pro Team190 TX, w/90Mercury 4-stroke, with the best equipment, for safely navigating, most waters, I'll ever fish. New to fishing, I need all the help, I can get. Any Pointers? Any advice would be greatly, appreciated.
  7. Up-grading reel handles? Different per manufacturer, or universal? Has anyone changed out stock handles/knobs? Where would you order from? Scott Martin said, something about up-grading his reel handles, on one of his tutorial videos. Thanks in advance,
  8. That being said; Strike King, Mega Bass and Livingston have high end hooks? And, you don't buy into the red hook on belly, thing? Great info, that's well received, Thanks
  9. Thanks, for your in-put, Munkin! So you sharpen your? and just fish with the stock hooks? I did buy split ring pliers, made it easier. After I picked up some low end Square bills, from DSG, 5 for $10... I think they are balsa. I just matched the same hook size as the ones that were on them, I did put red ones on rear, like one size up.. Think they were #1, treble. really appreciate comment
  10. What works for you? Wanting member's views on up-grading/ tweaking treble hooks on (NEW) square-bills & jerk baits? (depth change, hook set percentage) Seen different options on you tube, KVD's and other pros.. Change rear only, some do all three on jerk baits, etc. Red v/s silver/black? and there? (front/back) Why? Manufacturers type? Wide gap, or others? Do you all sharpen or change? Thanks, in advance.
  11. Brother, that was me. Listening to two older gentleman, talking about some Potomac Club, needing boat members, another couple of dudes talking, how much better this lure, was over that, lure. That's, when I happened...Do you want your reel spooled, what kind of line, Do you have your VIP card, (Good for 24 months, 20% off, all BPS merchandise, after you buy a boat) They gave me a BPS Credit Card....10% off just for applying speech, wrote account # on pamphlet, and BANG! Press hard, there are 3 copies......Didn't even look. I wanted to hang out some more to, get to hear the rest of the fishermen's conversation, still had the Grand in my pocket, I felt the need to leave, and drive right pass the New Casino, built right behind the BPS. Thought I did pretty good, still had my Grand + equipment, Right! A.M. was going to register reels and mail off free offer something, BANG! I spent, how much!!!!!!! That was funny, Sirs, Thanks for sharing that, So I'm really not alone? LOL

Hence Cabin Fever....I'll post some before and after pictures, when I learn how! KEEP FLIPPING & PITCHING, BABY !!!!!!
  13. Wow, That's well power! Your not that dude, at traffic lights, with cardboard sign saying "Will Fish for work" If, I were to go to that many BPS's, I'd have to sell one of my homes... Sir, You have seen the light!!! But, remember done walk into the light... LOL Thanks for your response, PM me the physical addresses for those locations, just in case... Tight lines, Sir
  14. Hey Raul, Sounds like you got a sweet deal, I feel your pain or share your happy place, brother. What is a TDZ and 103H, or even a 105H? Daiwa is manufacturer, I did get that one right? I still think, I won that one, I had change (not much), when I left and promised, never to go back in that place, again !!! I don't drink now, cuz, We all know how, that promise works... Have, fun this spawn!!!! (it used to be, "Have fun this Spring") Tight lines, my friend, hope to see you, Flipping & Pitching !!!!! Arundle Mills Mall, Hanover, Md. Remember you asked......
  15. My Mistake, Notes; I have has "Reel Butter", watching instructional video, all I could see was Butt, in yellow print. , it was grease, not oil.. Love your response, tried it, that reel is going to Squeal, like a pig.... I deserved that, now that's funny...... Think, I'll have to review notes more before posting.. My apologies,
  16. FYI, don't ever take your wallet into a Bass Pro Shop, Fold money in half, that you're planning to spend, place in front pocket and spend 4-6 hours in that place, in Washington, D.C. it's massive. They break you down by attrition. I thought Ebay was people selling their stuff? Yard sale/flea Market site. They sell new items? Thought is like bidding house? Giving away my age. sorry. You know, what you are looking for right? By that, I mean makes and models. Ordered something from manufacturer and freight was like $150.00. Man, I drove there, cheaper for gas and meals then freight. I'll check it out. Thanks again, P.S. I'm going in!!!!!!!!
  17. cttny27, What lubricate works best for you? any brand, you fine is better? Illinois, beautiful country up there, I'm jealous. Do you get to fish, those Michigan Lakes? One decent size lake 4 hours from house. I travel a lot to South Carolina. Old and can't take the cold. I think the areas population, where I live is only: 6.2 Million people ! (50 mile radius) of Washington, D.C. (roughly) Thanks for your comments, tight lines.
  18. Sweet, I wondered, about that length, When to local seminar and a vendor, had a stack of 6'6" square PVC type tubes. For $5.00 each. I did get his contact info. I like how your thinking, couple two together and that would work. Thanks,
  19. Thanks, Evan K my mistake, reading from rod, to post right specs./ I did get, that extended warranty also. Got me on that one. Boat mechanic finished tin-can boat upgrades, SWEET!!!!! Figured, I'd send, the rest of my fishing budget, on better rods/reels. Don't need much now, DVT is going to make me, two custom rods, thinking of getting, even better reels. (to let my Buds, use), when we are fishing. On-line. Getting produces, you actually picked out and paid for, secure web-page/sites, first time surfer... What on-line sites, do my band of brothers, buy their rigs? I thought, shipping would be crazy? Thank you, appreciate your time and opinion.
  20. Thanks Sir, Looks like, I'll be posting in flea-market forum, to get rid of 4-5 learning/remorse rigs. All new equipment, (3-4 months abuse) I fish only fresh water, everyday, pretty much, all day.Except, when, on internet.(first timer) How often would you recommend, (not saying I'm An Angler) doing, thorough lubricating? Seen something, about replacing factory washers/clutch pads for drag type, on reels? Any thoughts? Does is mean, I have to buy 2X the equipment, ,because, mine will be in rotation with rod shops? Just kidding on 2X equipment. Thanks for your advice, in advance.
  21. Heard That !!! I'll be calling you for those custom rods, end of March. Once, I see what, I do or don't, like about these ones. Do I get discount for Two? On-line suppliers would only introduce me to "MORE STUFF" at better prices. This site only cost me??????? (I'll Be Surfing soon!) Once, I get the names & models of better equipment, with my Bassresource families help/guidance. The $485.00 was probably what the rig cost, add in line, warranty. Oh, Looking at BPS receipt; that was 2 (two) Shimano Chonarch CI4+. My mistake, YOU GUYS,had me worried there for a minute!!!!!! Ya'll have created a MONSTER!!!!!!!! Winter shopping sucks. Logan S, so I'll take that, as this is pretty good stuff? Hey, How about those Custom Tubes/Cases? Priceless. NOT!! I was thinking more like rifle case....
  22. Any comments on, where to get the best stuff? Seen "BUTT GREASE" on-line, do you get that, from rod and reel repair shops? There are a lot of different types, my reels are mostly Bait-casters, and 2 Spinning. Question #1:Same grease and oil for BC & Spinning? Question #2: How often do most of you lube you reels, or do you take to custom repair person? Question #3: Reels came with small tube of oil in box. Do you have to use that brand, and type? Warranty concerns. Thank you for your in-put,
  23. Probably, not the case with me. I usually fire off three rounds, and "Yell, Who's out there! Point taken, just kidding, I have two German Shepherds, at my home, and I never leave anything of value in boat. Putting LED lights on and was wondering, if anyone had any experience, with alarm systems, that could be hooked up with those. A deterrent, not to protect urine bottle. Thank you, always appreciate everyone's take on stuff.
  24. ROD:St. Croix: TBC71MF, 7'1", Medium Power/Fast Action, SCIV Graphite/FRS, IPC & ART Technology, 10-17lb., 1/4 -5/8oz. REEL: Shimano, Chronarch CI4+, 150, 6.2:1 ratio $855.00, counting warranty and Power Pro 20lb. This Is, why, I have not ever been on internet my 55 years on this planet ! Now, I Know what; (Be carful for what you ask for, you might get it!) means. You guys helped me out, and made me the fisherman I am today... Having felt the lite-weight on this set-up, I'm going to have to learn how to fish all over again ! And sell my boat ! Question: Anyone needing roommate? NO, just kidding!!!!! Real Question? Is that the Glass/graphite rod? Any comments on best rod tubes, would be greatly, appreciated. P.S. I sleep with it under my pillow.
