Elite ti2 or helix
Looking to upgrade fro. The hook2 I have now. What are the pros and cons of these units? I'm pretty behind the curve if you will when it co.es to electronics and terminology. Where I fish those places aren't on avionics or anything. Do either of these or any fish finder for that matter have a way to map put your body of water and save the contours and what not on your unit so you can map out your own lakes? That's really what would be the selling point for me in a unit. Both the helix and elite ti2 have superb detail in the graphics with the mega imaging and active imaging which is why I'm looking between these 2 it's a big step up from my hook2

Hook for Texas rigged drop shot
I stick with plasma tails or zoom finesse worms. So similar profile and thickness. I use the missile baits bomb shot also for a bulkier profile. So sounds like the #1 will do just fine for my needs. Thanks

Hook for Texas rigged drop shot
90% of the time I'm using a 4.5" biospawn plasma tail.... geez 3/0 that sounds big compared to the size 1 gammies I use for normal nose hook drop shotting

Hook for Texas rigged drop shot
What size is a good one for 4 to 4.5" baits

Hook for Texas rigged drop shot
I've been using the Gamakatsu wide gaps for my typical nose hook drop shot. But what hook do you guys use for Texas rigging your drop shots? I assume some finesse type straight shank with a keeper. What size tho? I use 4-4.5" baits for drop shot mostly if that helps

Champion Extreme DX704 or 705
Then theres always the option of sticking with st.croix and bumping up to the Legend Tournament line and getting the same 7'1" MH

Champion Extreme DX704 or 705
I'm looking for a jig rod. 3/8 98% of the time 1/2 the rest. I use a St.Croix Mojo 7'1" MH now and I do like it but with getting more and more into the competitive side of things I'd like to upgrade it. I am in the process of phasing out my St.croixs and Dobyns Furys. I own the regular Champion XP in the 704 and 705 and wonder if they will handle the same as the Champion Extreme. If that's the case I dont know what I will do as I like the action I get from the Mojo I use now and the regular Champion 704 tip is to soft for my liking for jigs and the 705 is real stiff like my frog rod. The mojo is in between and that's what I'm looking for.

Looking for the best rod under $150
Cant speak about the daiwa. But have owned Dobyns Furys and Champions as well as Mojos. For the price a Dobyns is hard to beat and I doubt you will find another company with a better warranty program or customer service

Humminbird Helix 7
I'm out of a kayak so it's not like I have a fuse box onboard

Humminbird Helix 7
Do the Humminbird units need a fuse? Do they come with a fuse and fuse holder like the Lowrance units?

Upgrading my frog rod (Dobyns)
It doesnt have to be a Dobyns. But I really like my Dobyns rods. All but 2 of my rods are Dobyns. I just like how they feel and fish

Upgrading my frog rod (Dobyns)
So Gary actually emailed me back I asked him the same and he recommended the Sierra 735. Second choice would be the Champion 735 with the full handle not the split. It's crazy how blanks are so different that a fury series mag heavy is similar in power and action as the Champion line Medium Heavy. Cheese and crackers why cant we have a industry standard on what a medium, MH, Heavy, etc. Is

Upgrading my frog rod (Dobyns)
So your saying the Champion 735 is stiffer then the Fury 735

Upgrading my frog rod (Dobyns)
I originally got the 735 cause it was the only Mag heavy in the line up. Still is. I have had 3 different reels on that rod, tatula ct, curado, and chronarch.

Upgrading my frog rod (Dobyns)
I have a Dobyns Fury 735c Mag Heavy/Fast I've been using as my frog rod love everything about it. Perfect frog rod for what I like except when the frog bite is on and that rod is in my hands all day I feel like I did a full day arm workout with Arnold Schwarzenegger in his prime. It's just to heavy ti use all day long. I'm looking to stay with Dobyns but move up in the series in Hope's I can find a rod with identical power and action..... maybe a slightly softer tip, but with less weight. Those of you that have experience with Dobyns chime in. Most my rods are Dobyns either fury or Champion xp but I've only dealt with the fury for the frog rods. I was thinking these might be close: Sierra series 735 Mag Heavy/ Ex Fast Champion XP 736 Heavy/ Ex Fast Champion XP 735 MH/ Ex Fast

Best hollow body frog?
Booyah pad crasher is hands down my favorite. Live target is my second. I've had nothing but problems with spro frogs I cant even get them all the way back to the kayak without them filling with water

Favorite Drop Shot Hook ?
The Gamakatsu split/drop shot hooks are nice but I prefer the Gamakatsu finesse wide gap. They are great for drop shot and wacky rigs

What if I mess up modifying a mold
I'm thinking of getting a do it jig mold and I am already of thinking of ways I'd like to modify it. My question is while modifying the mold with a dremel if I was to take off to much material and the lead is now able to seep into the modified area is it ruined or can it be repaired with something like the jb weld epoxy putty? Also one of the modifications I was pondering was modifying the mold to accept both horizontal and vertical eye hooks.... has anyone done this? Can it be done?

What are your favorite rod brands?
Dobyns and st.croix are tied for #1 for me other good rod brands I've either owned or tried are irod, 13. I haven't tried the gloomis or diawa rods that people like. BPS carbonlite are nice rods also

Best frog rod under $150 and 7'2"
Dobyns Fury 735C

How many of you use more than 3 rods consistently on a kayak?
Depends on the lake. One lake around here after April or May it gets to matted the only thing that you can fish without fouling up is either a frog on top or punching through. And another lake I fish a lot i will take 7 through out the year I could make it 6 but I hate to cut off a drop shot rig and tie on a shakey head or senko so I just take 2 spinning rods and have one dedicated to drop shot

Favorite Underspins and Trailers
I have fished the spintrix they are nice underspins. Put a reaction innovations skinny dippers on the back and have at it that's what I do and I enjoy fishing them

Picking out five Dobyns Rods
This.... although for me a like a shorter rod for topwater walk the dog style baits and jerkbaits. The 735c works good as a pitching rod or little bit shorter flipping stick. Those 735c's have plenty of backbone
