Im not understanding frog colors
I have 6 frogs 3 white, black, and yellow or orange belly in a walking style and 3 white, black, and yellow or orange belly popping style. I don't look at the top color IMO thats to catch fisherman not fish. I like to stick with the mid size frogs I don't like the small frogs and the big ones for me are to big

Looking for some help with a baitcaster reel
I'm looking to get 2 reels one high speed reel for topwater and a slow reel for cranking. There's just so many reels out on the market I don't know which way is up anymore. Plus the fact that last year I made the jump to baitcasting gear and love it I'm not as informed about what makes a good baitcaster so sorry in advance if one of the reels I'm looking at makes you chuckle cause its a bad reel. Like I said I don't know what makes a good baitcaster All of these i found on on TW Topwater Quantum Team KVD, 7.3:1 Okuma citrix "A" , 7.3:1 Lews Tournament MB speed spool, 7.5:1, 8.3:1 Lews Mach 1, 7.1:1 Lews speed spool LFS, 7.5:1 Abu Garcia Pro Max, 7.1:1 Abu Garcia Revo SX gen 3, 7.1:1 Daiwa Tatula CT, 7.3:1, 8.1:1 Daiwa Tatula 100, 7.3:1 Daiwa Fuego, 7.3:1, 8.1:1 Cranking Okuma citrix "A", 5.4:1 Abu Garcia orra winch, 5.4:1 Daiwa Tatula CT, 5.5:1 Daiwa Tatula 100, 5.4:1 Daiwa exceler 100, 4.9:1 Lews BB-1, 5.1:1 Lews tournament MB, 5.6:1 Lews Speed spool LFS, 5.6:1 I put the ratios as reference just in case you didn't know off hand and had to looked them up these all range in price from $80-160. I know some people may think well if a $160 reel is in your price range then why consider a $80 reel, my thinking is if the $80 reel will get the job done just as well and is a good reel and not a bad one why spend the extra money. Thank you all in advance with any light you can shed on this situation for me

What is a good lipless crankbait
I should start doing it this way I like that Another vote for the Red eye shad I throw both the 1/4 and 1/2 oz I prefer the 1/4 as I fish mostly smaller bodies of water.... All I use is 3 colors the red craw pattern a chartreuse black back and a bluegill

Fish finder for shallow water
I mean seeing the fish would be great and save time but I'm mostly just looking to find structure.... I believe the largest lake I fish is around 45 acres so as long as I can find structure I can fish it and if I don't get anything I can just move on its not like I'm fishing a 800 acre lake

Fish finder for shallow water
What type of fish finder is good for shallow water the MAX depth of the deepest lake I fish is 8 ft with the avg depth being 4-6 ft( so it says on MD dnr website) the water is to stained for sight fishing so I need a finder for finsim the fish and structure.... Ive read that side imaging fish finders are best for shallow water as the DI units won't give as broad a range in shallow water but I can't for the life of me tell what I'm looking at on a screenshot of a SI finder i just camt seem to put the picture together in y head as clear as a DI alrwady does for me. Is there another alternative or is SI the way to go? Also a beginner friendly unit is a must

spinning reel decision
I would have to jump on with everybody else Lews makes good baitcasters but I don't know about there spinning reels. I also own 3 Pflueger Presidents ( 1 on my catfish rod, 1 on my finesse bass rod, and 1 on my UL rod for perch and bluegill) you just can't beat them. The only other reel I would suggest looking at is the Mitchell 300 pro but I believe they are the same price I would choose Pflueger but you can't really go wrong with either of those 2

Lews TP-1 vs. Fenwick HMG spinning rod
I would have to agree. I have a Fenwick HMG baitcaster and Fenwick HMX spinning rod and I love them. I am in the process of switching all my rods to Fenwick. Lews makes a quality product in my opinion I am actually also in the process of switching all my reels (baitcasters... Sticking with my Pflueger President for spinning) to Lews they make great reels can't say anything about there rods tho but I'm sure they are quality I just would go with the proven rod in this case. Also remember as it may not be a big difference but but a difference none the less but actions vary from company to company a Medium fast action Lews may differ from a Medium fast action Fenwick one at be a little stiffer then the other even tho they are the same power and action

Craw Trailer with the most action
I have tried brush hogs but not as a trailer.... The only other thing I've used is a beaver style bait and the only ones I've used of them is the strike king rodent and missile baits d bomb
-
Craw Trailer with the most action
Ok thanks so I will just stick with my rage tails and crazy legs chigger craws then
-
Craw Trailer with the most action
The lakes and ponds around me have dirtier water not mud brown but it ain't clear by any means. So I'm looking for a craw plastic with the most action to grab there attention I mostly use them on jigs but sometimes just Texas rig them for a more finesse approach. I use the Rage Tail rage craw or the crazylegs chigger craw now but didn't know if there was any better or ones with more action out there. Was looking at netbait paca craws, zoom and zman with the ultra vibe type pinchers, or the flappy daddy I think its made by gambler can't remember off the top of my head. Thanks for any help in advance

Yum Products question
Are YUM fingers salted? Or any yum bait for that matter. I go on cabelas website and look at some plastics and in the description of most it will say salt impregnated, etc.... It doesn't say it on the yum worms and such does yum not put salt in there bait? Just wondering

Crankbait rod question
Does the action of the rod really matter all that much with crankbaits? All the rods I own for bass fishing whether it be spinning or baitcaster are M-MH fast action rods but have read that a moderate action rod is good for cranking... Does it really make a difference? I was looking at Fenwick HMX rods also if anyone wanted to throw in there opinions on that? Could you give me any suggestions for a cranking rod max price range would be about $80 for the rod. Or if there are any good combos for cranking that would help also.

Flambeau or Plano
I use both the flambeau boxes for me break easier then the Plano ones I have 3 each of Plano and flambeau and all 3 flambeau utility boxes have cracks in them the Plano's don't. But for big tackle boxes I have my dads old flambeau 3 tray and it is still holding up very well for the age of the box it still is like new. Sometimes the latch gets loose as they get older but its still solid

Hello from MD
Howdy I've been looking at the forums for awhile decided to finally join. Just figured I'd join to help other anglers or "underwater hunters" and share my experiences and to get advice from other fishermen. I fish for it all I'm not picky.... Perch, bluegill, crappie, trout, pickerel, bass, catfish. I've been fishing for most my life mostly catfish just started bass fishing 2 years ago this will be my 3rd season fishing for bass. Caught my largest last spring a solid 4 pounder. I am a shore fisherman as i dont own a boat, the wife got me an old wooden boat for christmas that i am going to fix up and get out on the lakes and ponds. I spent 4 years in the Marine Corps infantry and did 2 tours in Afghanistan. Fishing is my outlet and my passion as I'm sure it is with the rest of you. Looking forward to gaining more knowledge and sharing my own

Regular/poppin style frogs
The regular frogs are good for open water and covering more water. The popping frog is good for gaps in between Lilly pads to make the most commotion in a small space. But even in open water I still just use a popping frog. Either Spro or Booyah, I'm not a fan of the strike king KVD frog. If you have some extra cash live target frogs are nice too. But yes I would just stick with a popping frog. If you really want a regular frog I would get like a ribbit or cane toad or any soft plastic frog (not a hollow body) and use it as a search bait in open water as it will make more noise then when you find the fish either stick with that or switch to a popping frog.... You could also just add a suction cup to a regular hollow frog an make it a popping frog that way you can switch back and forth for what ever the situation calls for

What's a good fluorocarbon line
Thanks for the input I will pick up either the Trilene flouro or the invisx which ever is cheaper next time I get out to the tackle shop

What's a good fluorocarbon line
Never dealt with fluorocarbon before figured I'd try it this season for crank baits. What should I go with? Seaguar? P-line? Trilene? Vanish? I have used Berkeley lines in the past with no complaints... All my reels this season are spooled with suffix should I just stick with suffix and use there flouro?
