Best Line Spooling Station ?
I use the American Premier line winder. Never had a problem with it

KVD line & lure
Then why does it have braid for suggested uses? And why is there a line conditioner specifically for braid... believe it's called braid aid or something.... it's a line conditioner which braid is a line. Although yes you get more out of it on other line types for memory but there are benefits to using it on braid

KVD line & lure
I've noticed it makes it slicker. Just like it does with FC and monoit makes it slicker and reduces memory it's just with braid you don't have the memory so you just get the slickness

KVD line & lure
I was doing a backwoods experiment between reelsnot and KVD line&lure to see if there was any notable difference between the 2. ive been using reelsnot but bought some L&L recently to put on some line on a couple new reels. I have braid on all my reels 50# Power pro in this case. What happened was the L&L faded my braid. I put it on about a day before I went out and when I got out to the water I noticed my braid looked like I have been fishing with it all season already. Never had this problem with my reelsnot. Needless to to say I will be making the switch back to reelsnot. And for what it's worth I couldn't tell a difference performance wise between the 2 but at least the reelsnot didn't t fade my line

Frog Colors
So far this year the only frog they are biting for me is a black belly frog. In general tho if I'm fishing over mats I don't think it matters as they don't get a real good look at it anyway. Open water I keep it simple black belly, white belly, maybe a yellow belly

Do it essential series
My buddy is getting out of fishing and is selling all his stuff. I was wondering he has he has the essential series line of molds, glitter, plastisol. Is the essential series line a good line or should I spend my money on other molds and plastisol etc.

Soft bait additives
I was reading about adding salt to soft baits and how some people don't like it cause it affects the color, makes Baits more fragile etc. But I was wondering if anybody ever added sugar to there baits? I've seen in dicks before they had some Baits by field and stream called sugar stix (stick bait with sugar instead of salt) never bought them but was thinking about it today and was wondering what the community's thoughts were on sugar in baits instead of salt? Have you tried it? Just sounded like an interesting topic to get started

Pick Your Frog!
I like booyah pad crasher and the River2sea spittin wa. I have a several Spro frogs but every single one takes on water like a block of Swiss cheese. I can't even get through one retrieve before the frog starts not being able to work right cause it has so much water in the body bass in pic was with pad crasher

Frog bite is back in MD
They were hitting the frog pretty good today got to go out for an hour or so before the rain came and spent most of that time trying to figure out what they wanted. Spent the last 30mins throwing a frog and caught 3 Dobyns Fury 735c Daiwa Tatula CT #50 Power pro Booyah Pad Crasher black/blue (believe they call the color night train I can't remember)

Shimano Curado vs Lews Tournament MB
They both perform almost identical and are great reels. I tend to pick up my curado more tho because it feels better in my hand but that's personal preference there you might like the way the lews fits in your hand better.
-
Lews Custom Pro vs Shimano Chronarch MGL
I already own 2 curados. I'm trying to step up in the lineups and try there other offerings. And I already own 8 rods so unless I come into a boat and get off the bank I have no use for more rods

Lews Custom Pro vs Shimano Chronarch MGL
I'd have to agree. I trust this forum to give honest opinion on a apples to apples comparison. Yea sure there are fan boys out there and there are plenty of Lews fans on this site and have read in the past several times people suggest Lews over Shimano. I think the reason lately you keep seeing mostly talks about Shimano and Daiwa and "vs" threads about them instead of Lews is cause they both have come out with recent additions/revisions to there line ups like the new tatula SV and the new Chronarchs, also the talks of the Curado price reduction and rumors of a new Curado etc. Where as Lews has not other then there laser pro which is there low end series. So naturally people are going to want to talk about the newest and greatest things coming out just like storm lures were almost unheard of on here then bam the arashi line came out then everyone was talking about it then it died down again.

Lews Custom Pro vs Shimano Chronarch MGL
Been saving up some overtime pay and was looking to get one of these reels. If given the choice which would you choose? I have curados and lews tournaments and I like both Shimano and lews and I'd like to try the next step up in there lineups. Never fished a made in Japan Shimano all the Shimanos I've fished are the lower ones made in Malaysia or wherever I would assume the quality would be better out of Japan. I know all the lews are made in Korea but anyway now I'm rambling which would you choose?

Need a new go to squarebill
They don't have the 3 in the colors I was looking for so I emailed them and rapala who makes the storm products and both said they are discontinued. TW is selling what is left then they won't have them anymore. If you read the original post you would know this instead of bringing up the arashi crankbait

Protecting your equipment
This^ I do the same thing all my rods have rod gloves and all my reels have reel gloves and I put them in the front of my truck
-
Line conditioner
I'm a fan of reelsnot myself and it's not needed but after fishing a couple times without it the using it on my sunline sniper I would say it's necessary it really does help

Dobyns Advice
For what your looking to use these rods for your powers are spot on the 4 power heavy fishes more like a med/hvy with some extra umph it doesn't feel quite all the way down to a med/hvy kinda like a Mag med/hvy if that makes sense. Also the 3 power med/hvy same applies to that one also. The whole fury line feels like about a half step down from what it's rated. All have a great tip on them the higher in the Dobyns line you go tho it seems the closer there ratings are to what it says I own several furys and Champion xp's and Dobyns makes a hell of a stick hope you enjoy them and fish hard!!! and I will have to agree with @fishnkamp the 4 power is a great rod and a true all purpose rod Gary Dobyns could honestly just make the 704 and 734s and just make them with different handle lengths for different applications and you could be set. I have a Champion 704 and if I'm just going to check out a new spot or don't feel like carrying all my gear I just take the 704 and I feel confident in fishing any technique on that rod even tho it is my dedicated jig and t-rig rod

Need a new go to squarebill
The bandits are still good I have a few of the 100s I use them when the bite is tougher or clearer water cause they have a smaller profile. And at the beginning of this post I mentioned that the storm cranks are my go to rattling crank but they have discontinued the rattling version
-
Need a new go to squarebill
I know they make a rattling kvd 1.5 they are bass pro exclusive. but I order all my stuff from TW or in store at Cabelas cause I get 10% off all my orders at TW and 5% off at Cabelas... trying to save money when I can
-
Need a new go to squarebill
I have been eyeballing the spro crankbaits both the Russ Lane and the John Crews ones.
-
Need a new go to squarebill
I use the kvd 1.5 for my silent squarebill but I use the storm arashi 3 for my rattling one and was looking to stock up on some colors I have lost so far and was informed that the majority of the colors I use in the 3 size are now discontinued. Amybody have some suggestions on a new squarebill to try that rattles and dives in the 3-5 ft range preferably with that same circuit board type lip?
