Game of the Week, Giants vs Saints
x2 But there is more to games than a QB. The talent of a QB is irrelevant if the team around him is poor. Even if the QB has a great offense but little defense, it can keep a great QB from reaching the Super Bowl. A so-so QB can reach and win the superbowl when the team around him is great.... everything is part of the puzzle. Now saying that Eli is overrated... ummm... NO. Hes actually hounded on quite hard by many critics, and I feel like hes definately one of the best QBs in the NFC, and really even the NFL. He just has his days like most anyone else. (And no, Im not a Giants fan)

Got my pup!
I ended up keeping a stray that was wandering around my housse one time. You could tell she had had pups in the past, most likley someone dumped her...which I cannot stand to even think of > But anyways she was unhealthy and on her last leg, hair was all wirey. Once we took her in and fed her she became one of the most loyal / loving dogs I've owned. She stayes outside and has a HUGE underground fence... with a warm garage (doggy door) and plenty of food / water. Not a lick of trouble comes from her, one of the best deceisions I've made. I'm not even sure what mine is, lab something mix. I'd be willing to bet you'll love yours too.

Anybody own a Kimber 1911?
I have a Kimber Ultra Raptor II (.45) and it works amazing. Best shooting pistol I have shot, both cycling and accuracy. Not to mention it looks pretty sweet as well.

Saugeye??
I have a lake here that is stocked with them. They can actually get pretty big. Definately fish for them much like walleye, although I can say I am by no means an expert and find them to be "finicky", catch them by accident occaisionally bass fishing and crappie fishing. Hard bottom areas are usualy best, especially near deep water. Use jigs or rattle traps or if you get real serious start doing some of the crazy walleye stuff like Lindy rigs and live bait. Great eating too, just make sure they are of legal size... and watch their teeth!

tunnel hull or modified v? Anyone own a riverpro?
I have not had much experience with what depth my tunnel will run in yet... the tunnel does divert water to the center well... and I have the optional "toons" off of the back that add stability in turns and keep your stern up on take off. I also have a 4 stroke, which adds a little weight, so think about that in your purhcase as well. I would think with a hydraulic jackplate you could take off and stay on plane in some skinny water, but I don't have one. I can still run alot skinnier than a normal fiberglass boat though with my manual adjustment.

urp--Wireless trolling motor??

urp--Wireless trolling motor??
I have a MK Terrova... not technically wireless from the foot petal but it is digitally steered. I do have the co-pilot which makes it wireless controlled from the key fob. I like the motor alot. Alot of people will try to tell you that they turn real slow etc, but really the time it takes to turn it is only a smidgen slower. That shouldn't really be a factor if you don't let yourself get into dire situations in the first place. Stow and deploy on it is amazing, and I feel actually easier than my old MG tour with the cord. It is nice when you want to troll and not have to hold down your petal. Mine also came with auto-pilot, which is great since you can just point your motor into the wind and it will hold the same course at whatever speed you dictate (great for fishing wind blow/choppy points or TM only lakes). You can also set it to cruise slowly down a strait bank and you barely have to pay attention to it. If you catch a fish, just hit one button and its off so you slow down. Just as rugged as any other motor, just a few more electronics that have the possiblility of going bad. Its been on there a year and I have yet to regret it. O I forgot, MK is also comming out with GPS for these units. They will supposedly be able to "hold" your boat within 5 ft of wherever you set it to....automatically. Will also automatically re-trace your bread crumb trails etc. Look out off shore fish!

tunnel hull or modified v? Anyone own a riverpro?
I have a G3 1860CCT tunnel hull with a 90hp 4 stroke prop and absolutely love it. It does have a mod V front on it. You do sacrifice some of the ride and speed you get with a fiberglass (I transfered to that from an 18 ft fiberglass Triton), but it was worth it to me to have a boat that runs skinny and I can "beat up" more without wincing. Hit trees or whatever and don't have to worry about knicks and scratches.. you can always repaint an aluminum easily. My friend has a regular modified v jon with a jet and he dosn't really care for it. Jets are inefficient and you waste alot more gas. He also has issues with it plugging this time of year with dead leaves etc. It is a good investment as Way2Slow stated if your going to go over a bunch of logs, but as an all around aspect jets just fall behind in most categories. I have a manual jackplate and have considered going to a hydraulic if I can find just cause.

Arby's.....
Arbys is still awesome in my book... roast beef is good quality and the curly fries are almost the best (Rally's might be better). You guys are right though, the prices have definately gone up. I havn't noticed much of a quantity issue though. They usually offer tons of coupon deals though (like the one he mentioned with the receipt). I have like a package of 12 coupons in front me now for 1 cent sandwhichs with the purchase of something else. Use coupons enough there and they are about the same price as anywhere else.

Stung by a catfish, cured by his bellie
The two side pectoral fins and top dorsal fin all three have large spikes. They are all on the front leading edge of the fin, its feels hard just like bone. If you look closely on the tips of the fins the bone comes to a point. Sometimes it dosn't look too sharp, just pointy and round, but don't let it fool you. Just pick them up right and they won't hurt ya. Its usually those stupid small, slick, flippy ones that get you the most. Noodling is done by letting the catfish grab your hand with its mouth. Im sure those crazy people get stung sometimes anyhow though. Personally have never tried that belly juice approach. Makes sense though since there is a type of poisen within those fins that can inject into you causing pain and irritation. Usually most animals are immune to the effects of their own poisen (genally how antidotes are made). Maybe the catfish's skin contains this incase of an accidental discharge into its own side from it or a fellow catfishy friend.

What gauge wire for trolling motor ?
Ya I would go with 6 to be safe.

Broken 2x4 on trailer
Are they bolts or screws? All of mine have been screws that screw up from the bottom but do not have enough length to go through the board. Counter-Sinking it is an option as well. You could even put the board on and counter sink the bolt, then carpet over it to be extra safe. It would be harder to do that way though. Shouldn't take you long, just dock your boat and get to it!

Minn kota quick release bracket ??
I've got this one for an 80lb Terrova. Works very well. Easy on and off with absolutely no play, very sturdy. Also comes with a cover to put on it when not in use (ie duck season). http://www.minnkotamotors.com/products/accessories/quick_release_brackets/electric_steer.aspx

Coffee Scented Lures
X2... mostly a gimmick. Maybe somewhat of a coverup scent. From my fishing and others remarks, there is no proof behind coffee as an attractant. Does smell good though.

Sports rivalries
Colts vs. Patriots..... usually the NFL exploits it as one of the largest if not the largest non-partisan viewed game of the year (always scheduled mid season prime time). A very stressful but good game for the Pats and Colts fans. Also Cubs-Cards

I really hate being a Bears fan
Yep, I just read two different reports saying he is likely out for the season. I think Cutler will straighten out over time, just a bad nervous first game against a big rival.

Bow Madness vs. Kryptic Pro
Honestly if you buy any of the bigger name bow brands you'll be OK. The way it is anymore with the technology they all shoot well. Some are a little quieter and a little faster but overall you'll kill deer. I personally like my Matthews alot but I have shot a Hoyt and PSE and they did just fine. Pretty much most of the brands have copy-cated right into the smaller sizes and parrellel limbs that seem to work good for the tree stand hunters. Just buy one and get used to it, most likely you'll stick with it for a long time.

Predict your NFL Teams record.
The Colts!!!....... 13-3. They don't have the worst schedule ever but its hard to win them all. I like how most analysts write them off because of the coaching changes, I think its hilarious. They will be as good as ever this year, Marvin was slacking to the 2nd and 3rd option receiver in the last two years anyway.

Jackall Cover Craw Review
They arn't hardly the same as a reverse rigged tube. They come with specially weighted and shaped hooks for each size and the bodies are much flatter so they cut through the water better at an angle. They cost more but I never said they didn't work, just overpriced with terrible durabilty. The jackall seems to be a good mix of the two without all the extra hardware... guess well see.

Some Intense swimbait video Footage..
Is it common for people to fish that close to you? Thought I seen a topwater comming from your 8 oclock region right into the area you were casting. Great video anyhow!

Jackall Cover Craw Review
I believe you speak of the Flying Lure... kind of of gimmick info-merical bait but it actually caught some fish. This bait does look good and sounds good if performs as said.

Spro BBZ-1
Pretty much what they said works.... however, I have had issues with fish hitting and not hooking up on this bait. Not sure why yet. I've been paralleling rocks with it and they just want to roll at it. I'd say Im only getting around 1 out of 5 fish to actually hit and stay on. Great looking bait though.

4 stroke vs. 2 stroke
The money you save is on oil, not gas. 4 Strokes aren't more efficient on gas usage, you just don't have to burn expensive 2-stroke oil. If you are comparing new 4 strokes to old 2 strokes, then thats apples and oranges. New 2 strokes don't require choking, several starting attempts, etc. Mine cranks first try every time, no choking. The reason to let it idle before getting on it has nothing to do with 2 stroke or 4 stroke. You do that to allow the engine to come up to operating temperature before running 6000 rpms. This is especially important when the water is cold. Cold seizures happen in both 4 strokes and 2 strokes. Tell you this much, call your local OB mechanic and compare the cost of rebuilding a 2 stroke powerhead and a 4 stroke powerhead. The 4 stroke is far more expensive because they are more complex. This is something the Motocross industry has been dealing with as many of the bikes are switching over to 4 stroke motors. I guess I have never used a two stroke younger than a 2003, but that one sure wasn't how you described. From what I have seen, the charts on gph on two stroke and 4 stroke motor comparisons state nothing about oil used, just simply the 4 stroke gets better gph, period. I wasn't wondering why people left them idling, Ive had experience with HAVING to leave them idle so they won't die when rev'd, even on warm water. And why would I want to worry about which one is more expensive to rebuild? Don't blow your motor up to begin with and you don't have to worry about it. Matt, your exactly right, they are much easier to pass. MStarr, I heard the same thing. In fact my Yamaha dealer anticipated they would quit making them all together in the near future due to environmental issues... sure would make parts and fixing them raise when all two strokes get discontinued... a point they seemed to emphasize.

Where have LUNKERS gone?!?!
You sure they are deep? This summer in the midwest has been a weird one. Our water temps were upper 70s to low 80s for several weeks of July and even into August. All of the fish went back into the coves and we won a few tourneys fishing 1-3' deep wood in the backs of coves. Now we had a warm spell and they are starting to move back out deeper since the water is warming into the upper 80s again. We actually had a sort of turnover this summer too which really goofed em up. Just some stuff to think about, not sure how the weather has been compared to normal out there in VA.
