Randall mentioned some tail modifications he did to make them more effective (I believe he cut the tail's length down). Basstrix and the Berkley Hollow bellies have been more productive for me. Use one of the Owner beast swimbait hooks and you will be good. You could use a worm hook, but there are hooks specifically designed for the paddletails.

I like them, but not necessarily better in all situations. Honestly, most of the time I have a Booyah Buzz tied on as I like a clacker.

It takes a little tuning to get it running straight, but it is a nice alternative. Believe it or not, I feel it is better in situations that call for a more subtle buzzbait. You would think the two blades make more commotion, but that is not my experience with the bait. I like it.
