Just seeing this for the first time. Very sorry for all involved and thoughts sent for a return to some normalcy for him. Stories like this one put me in absolute awe of what the human body is capable of absorbing and continuing to function. Whoever put it together did a pretty dang good job.

I'm devoting more time to musky now too. I fish the upper Potomac for them so with being river fish, they don't have the girth of lake fish but man, do they have some shoulders on them during a fight!

I still like to toss a fluke in the springtime.

Had a very good early part of the year but two major rain events caused some drastic changes to my normal lake. Usually my best fishing is done through the summer months and this summer just didn't yield anything really worthwhile. Inching closer to the DD mark. That's the ultimate goal.

There is something magical about the 10lb mark that even if the fish "appeared" to be that big, I'd have a hard time claiming I caught a DD without weighing it. It's a nice fish. I'd go with that for a weight and then ask for a scale for Christmas. It only adds a few ounces to the pack and removes all guestimating from fish weights.

I have the 45c and absolutely love it. Mine has the thumb safety and if you plan to carry IWB, I'd advise against that model. I typically only carry it when I can wear a sweatshirt or something similar to add a bulky top layer of concealment. It's a great shooting pistol, as are all the M&Ps I've handled.

My bass here are afflicted with the short/fat genes. It makes for some great, yet deceiving pics.

I'd want something faster than 4.6 then for sure. A 6.3:1 low profile would serve you well. Actually, just about any normal 200 sized reel would be adequate for throwing those rigs.
