Guaranteed To Catch Bass
I'm glad to hear that. All these dry runs I've had are disconcerting! I should try to hit the lake this weekend and give it a shot.

Vids
Try a search on youtube.com for fish, or bass fishing, or something like that. I don't think you can download them to your hard drive (I don't know how to anyway), but it's free to watch them.

Guaranteed To Catch Bass
Roadwarrior- Does your advice change any for time of day or time of year? I decided to learn bass fishing in the middle of summer this year, and so far from what I can tell, that is one of the hardest times of the year to catch fish unless you go pretty late at night/early morning--or at the least I haven't learned much other than patience so far. (Which should have me well prepared to try your advice!)

New World Record Bass (25.1 lbs)
When you guys say foul hook, is that like snaring a fish, where it doesn't eat the lure but you hook it in the stomach or side or something?

Do you wear eye protection while you fish ???
I don't mean this the wrong way, but you're young. Wait a few years and you'll probably have a change of heart.

Fishing magazines
I picked up a copy of Bassin the other day and have enjoyed it. I also enjoy the Crappie magazine put out by the same publisher a couple of months ago.

Has this site helped you?
As I've said before, I'm new to bass fishing. I've fished since I was young, mostly panfish, with a little saltwater thrown in the past few years, but I just recently became really interested in bass. I don't have anyone nearby to show me the ropes, so I've had to try to pick up information on my own where I can find it. Until I found this board, it was pretty slim pickings. Now that I've found the site, it's a wealth of information. There's so much to be found on the message boards that I've barely even begun to read the articles on the other areas of the site. I can easily lose track of time when I log in here. Norm

Help when fishing a shallow creek?
I'm still so new to bass fishing that I feel lost on a lake, but I have pretty good luck in the creeks. I use a Rebel Craw with good success, but lately I've been using a Smallie Beaver by Reaction Innovations. It's a soft plastic craw that I rig weedless. I've caught some really nice bass with it. Look for the fast water, then find a nearby pool or area where the water is swirling. That seems to be where I catch most of mine.
