  1. Can someone explain some benefits of the Fulton F2? I get their dual gears and aluminum/plastic but do they offer something I’m missing?
  2. Thanks Guys, Ordering stuff for 24v and will work on installing over the winter after I give the layout and placement some thought
  3. Hi Guys, I've never owned a trolling motor before and my boat is wired for a 12v trolling motor. I understand I could add another battery, opt for a 3 bank charger to do the 24v series and my cranking battery etc. but am trying to figure out if I need 80lbs vs 55lbs. Can anyone with a similar 16'5" aluminum boat comments on experience? Thanks.
  4. My boat, a 2018 Lund Rebel 1600 SS says the max capacity is 5 persons or 780 lbs followed by 1225 lbs person, motor and gear. Is the 1225 including the weight of the boat? Im trying to figure out how much weight I had for adding a trolling motor. It’s wired for 12v but every thing I read seems that you want to go 24v or more.
  5. Thank you! probably going to do this soon on my 50hp ELPT EFI Mercury. Ordered the service manual to get a better idea on an the maintenance and how to conduct it properly. This will make tracking a breeze.
  6. Does this track the number of hours on the motor prior to the install?
  7. Thanks, When I hear SS it makes me think of a nova, chevelle and camaro. Unfortunately those classic cars were way out of my price range when I got my license.
  8. The SS is the side steer, I am EXTREMELY happy to have a steering wheel vs when I had a smaller tiller handle on a Jon boat.
  9. Hi Greg, No trolling motor yet. Will add later and have much to learn about them. Previous boating experience only included a Jon boat and kayaking.
  10. Good evening Guys, First off thank you to everyone who had responded to my initial thread and provided advice on purchasing a used boat. I ended up getting a new boat from a dealer within my price range that I felt would fit well for what I want to do which is primarily spending time on the water with my wife and daughter fishing. The boat is a 2018 Lund Rebel SS 1600 with a 50hp Mercury ELPT EFI and trailer. I recently took the required New Hampshire Boaters Safetry Course online and passed the proctored exam. While this was insightful about the “rules of the water” I’m feeling a bit lost with the new boat, which I’ll pick up this coming Thursday. I plan on reading the manuals which come with the boat and motor and am hoping they will be insightful on the outboard break in process along with maintenance requirements. For now I only have a Garmin EchoMAP Plus 63cv for electronics which the dealer is installing and will be running off the only battery the boat will have for now which will also be used for cranking the engine. I’m hoping this will not cause issues in depleting the battery where the outboard will be running off the same battery? I have also purchased the following equipment: - Paddles x2 - Fortress FX7 Anchor w/ 6’ SS Chain and 150’ anchor rope - Fenders with Line x4 - Trailer and Hitch Locks - Type III Life Jackets x3 - Type IV Throwable Cushions x2 - Retractable Transom Boat Buckle Tiedowns with Trailer Mounting Kit - Z-Launch 10’ Watercraft Launch Cord I know I need Signaling Devices. I have whistles attached to the life jackets but would like to purchase a kit which would make me compliant for any saltwater fishing I may do from time to time in Maine. I’m also looking into Weego Jump Starters. What else am I forgetting or should I know / do? What do you wish you knew when starting out? Thanks all, tight lines.
  11. Thanks everyone for the replies. I had a lot of difficulty getting sellers to respond and much less willing to provide diagnostic checks. I am mainly fishing for fun, no tournaments and have a wife and 2 year old. I ended up getting a 2018 Lund Rebel SS with a 50hp Mercury ELPT EFI and matching trailer. Only electrics so far is a Garmin EchoMAP Plus 63cv on a ram mount. Going to start a new thread with more questions and feeling a bit overwhelmed so far figuring everything out as a new boater.
  12. Will try to do this. Asked him for the records and a engine test printout. Really excited and just looking around.
  13. Considering buying this boat used. owner is going to get the HIN, VIN and serial number to me today and if the value checks out with NADA I’m going to set up a time to take a look. This would be my first real boat. I’m going to get a computer diagnostic readout for the motor, what else should I be looking for? other information: boat is on it’s second owner who lives in Vermont. 1st was from Connecticut. 2nd owner bought from a dealer. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Sellers description: 2009 Ranger W/ 2010 Evenrude E-Tec with ONLY 137 hours . Tons of extras. Has been serviced at dealers it's hole life. Hummingbird 788 down scan with sonar and 998 with side imaging . Custom ranger cover . Boat and Ranger trailer are100%. Never had an issue. Boat has been winterized and wrapped every year. Started a family so need something different. Text or call
  14. Can someone help me out with these, thoughts? https://vermont.craigslist.org/boa/d/2010-ranger-17vs-bass-boat/6638301213.html https://boston.craigslist.org/nwb/boa/d/2013-bass-tracker-pro-team/6636096506.html
  15. Total package, I know it’ll cost more in the long run to upgrade but I can’t start out with it all so I gotta start somewhere
  16. Hi Guys, Im in the market for a boat and thinking of a Tracker Pro 170 which is at the top of my price range ($15,000). I’ve owned a flat aluminum boat in the past and several kayaks (wishing each was a boat). located in New Hampshire. Any advice or recommendations?
  17. DSG sent me a 20% off your order from now till the 15th
  18. I’d wait and pick up another rod when Tacklewarehouse does their Labor Day sale (probably 15% off). If you can wait, do the gift cards around Christmas for 90% of the value and then wait for another 15% off sale. If your heart is set on the carbonlite 2.0 you could always get a bass pro card and they have 10% off you order and $20 in rewards points right now online (today only it said on their website)
  19. Beat me to it, lots of exclusions though
  20. I tend to break too many Rods to invest the time in making Rods and get what I want out of it
  21. Looking for a true travel rod, casting and spinning to take on trips and can be hand carried on airlines. In my search I have only come across the Daiwa Ardito and the Fenwick Methods (possibly discontinued?). Would like to keep under $250.00 per rod. Thanks for any input.
  22. Labor Day will probably be the next one
