WHAT?! No more Picasso round shaky jig heads? I love those things. There's no pricing or way to order them on thier website. Does someone carry them online for purchase?

I have a slightly different opinion. Instead of getting 4 mid range rods, I would get 2 higher end rods and get the other two rods next year (or when you get another $500 to spend on rods). I had a whole slew of rods that over time I replaced. If I would have just been patient and slowly purchased the line-up I have now, I would have saved a lot of money in the meantime. Again, this is just my opinion and this is nothing against all the rod brands mentioned.

Now that's a good one! Had AT&T and drop calls all the time. My buddy had T-Mobile and had the same problems. I am not the biggest fan of Verizon, but it is the only carrier I actually get consistent reception with in my area.

When I think topwater, I think walk-the-dog style baits, prop baits, and poppers. I use these three lure types in more of an open water situation and I like a shorter rod (6'5" to 6'9") for that application. When you are talking frogs and toads, I use a much longer and heavier rod, because of the heavy cover and I need the extra power to get the fish out.

If I had $400 to spend on what I would consider the best finesse spinning set-up, I would get the following: G Loomis BSR852 GLX (If you are patient enough, you can get this for around $250 to $270). Pflueger Supreme 8030 or 8035 Fluorocarbon Line of your choice in 8 or 10 lb. test Note: This is just my opinion as to what I consider the best spinning finesse set-up out there for under $400

I have a 40 hp Yamaha 4-Stroke as a main and a 9.9 hp Evenrude 4-Stroke as a kicker. I was looking for general maintenance on the 40 h.p. (e.g., filter change, oil change, lubed, etc.). I wanted some general maintenance done on the 9.9 hp, but I also wanted an issue I've been having with it checked out. When I would go from idle to forward, the engine would backfire and sometime stall. Once I get up to full throttle, it wouldn't happen and the engine would run fine. I was hoping to find a Marina in the area where I have my boat to get this work done before the Spring Lake Erie Season began. Thanks for any help!

I need a little work done on the engines on my boat (main and kicker). I am looking for suggestions or recommendations from those who may know a good marine mechanic in this area. I would even go to NE Ohio or NW New York as well. Thanks in advance.

I have several large jigs with paddletails and fish them like a swimjig (sometimes at high speed). I have had only moderate success with them. How do you guys normally fish them? Sorry to the OP. I Ddn't mean to take this thread off topic, but I figure asking these questions would benefit any muskie fisherman.

I think the saying is, fish of 10,000 casts. Just fish the north end of Chautauqua, for bass. You'll find plenty of muskies, LOL. It's funny you should say that, because I catch so many more muskie bass fishing then I do muskie fishing. I guess I should stop throwing Pounders and downscale a little to decrease my casts per muskie when targeting them.

That's a thing of beauty compared to the Citrus Sticks rods... http://citrusstick.com/ The ugliest rods I've ever laid eyes on, by far. Wow...that is one ugly rod! As far as the NRX is concerned, I think it actually looks pretty sharp. I am not a fan of the split grip, but I solved that problem with some pipe insulation and Rod Wrap.

Actually, I would think keeping a muskie to mount would be more of a pain then getting a replica made. For a replica, all you need is a picture and 2 measurements and that's it. To keep a muskie, you have to drag the fish around on a rope back to the dock and somehow put this thing in your car and take it to a taxidermist (which if you are night fishing, good luck finding one open). Independent of killing a rare fish, keeping a muskie is something I seriously don't understand.

I will second a Tackle Industries Rod. I have the XXH 9' Telescopic rod, which is a really nice rod for $110. You obvioulsy wouldn't need a rod that heavy, but I would suggest getting a telescopic version. Really much easier to store and transport.

I tried the TroKar Drop Shot hooks. First time I used them, they worked great for the first 4 or 5 fish and then I started missing a lot of fish afterwards. Next time I used one, same thing, first 4 or 5 fish, they worked fine, but then I started missing fish again. They last straw was when I lost a 5+ pound Smallmouth. After losing that 5+ lb. fish, I switched out to my old faithful (Gamakatsu) and didn't have a problem losing fish afterwards. My personal opinion is that they dull way too fast. I am not one to "resharpen" hooks over and over and any hook that only stays sharp for 4 or 5 fish (and that costs over a dollar a hook) is not one I am going to use again.

Very nice log. I keep detailed information like that for all the muskie I catch, but really have a hard time doing that with bass. If you are able to keep up with it, that is great. I tried, but there would be those rare days I would catch 50+ bass and when I kept length and weight measurements on every fish, I felt like I spent half the time writing. I also felt like keeping records like that took away from just getting out and catching fish. I do keep records of the number of fish (and species) I catch on every outing with the measurement of the largest fish per species for that day and that seems to satisfy me. Again, great looking log and if you do keep up with it, you will have a very valuable historical data base.
