New curado I
You seem to know a lot about reels as far as shimano goes. But do you know anything about the new Abu revo sx ? I was looking at them the other day

What are your thoughts about the new curado I?

Best baitcaster
I was at bass pro the other day and was talking to the man selling the reels. I felt the daiwa and it was amazingly smooth, way smoother than any of the shimano reels. He said he used to be a shimano guy until he got one and he hasn't touched his shimano reels since. The daiwa tatula type r is my next reel. Its way underrated.

Bought new baits
Just got a smithwick rattling rogue and got a yellow and orange with a metallic topped Rat-l-trap. Anyone ever had success with these, heard these baits fished right are deadly

How to glue styrofoam to plastic (bait bucket)
Consult your local redneck for some top of the line duct tape. I'm guilty for using duct tape on a lot of stuff?

have you ever just quit using a bait?
Yes I have all of the sudden stopped on certain baits. Whether it be for wanting to try something different, or just finding a bait that has a higher tendancy to bring in more fish. It just happens. Pretty sure it happens to everyone at least with one bait or another

Shadalisious swim bait
When you match the hatch with a swim bait no doubt you will get nice fish??

Old school rubber skirts
Well generally the older style skirts are a bit wider and produce more flow as the are swam or worked. This is something I've heard a lot about in the past couple weeks. Some argue old school skirts are better and with the extra flow they produce I don't doubt it.

Jerkbaits. Good?
Thanks for all the good advice. I'll get out on the lake next weekend and put it to use. Hardly a place I can't go on my gator tail.

Jerkbaits. Good?
Never fished a jerkbait. Never caught off one. Are they as successful as people say they are? What's the best way to use a suspending jerkbait or a Rouge style bait? Any brand or style recommendations?

A little help on fishing points from the bank
As a primary pond hopper and bank fisher I can tell you some about baits to use. Unless I can see for myself water clarity and Forge and other key factors I can't really pinpoint the best spots but for me here in North Louisiana, I always use a 8-10 in grape twirl tail worm or a smaller spinner bait. I like the strike king bleeding baits or single blade terminator. I do use the larger sartruse and white war eagle spinners. Spinners work well from the bank due to the vibrations they put off that appeal greatly to the fishes lateral line. The flash near cover also creates a nice chance for a reaction strike. You can fish it low or high in the thermocline and it's just versatile. As for the grape worm, I mean... It just triggers the big bites around cover like nobody's business. Color doesn't have to be grape but around my bodies of water, grape works good

Where to look for spawning bass
Well, many different things can play a factor in why a bass chooses the spot to make a bed. Most of the time it's right in a good spot that they find just right on the thermocline and in different states it's different. They can be along a drop off of a bank or beside underwater cover. Where more algea accumulates and thus more bait fish are. This makes an easy meal for the bass to snag while on the bed, so bait fish are key in this as well

One rod, one line and one lure?
For me it's always the same. Lews speed spool lfs. This is by far the best reel you can get no doubt. I use the 7:5:1 and for my rod I use the old bass pro mega cast with 9 eyes. The old bass pro mega cast feel like a MOJO bass rod but a lot better. One lure I always keep in the box year round no matter the season is a small spinner bait. I like the strike king bleeding baits or the single blade terminators. Keeps the bass rolling in. Remember to cover lots of water and don't be afraid to let it fall with some crazy movements. Sometimes that's just key for those hard hitting reaction strikes.

Does line make the difference?
Well although I have been fishing for almost all my life, I've only used a clear line literally the whole time and have been a fairly successful fisherman. Catching many 7lb bass within a years time. But my question today is that I'm wanting to know if changing my line would really make a difference. Any recommendations? Colors? Brands?
