Lithium batteries
Shopping for a lithium battery for a fishing kayak,,,minn kota endura c2 30 lb thrust. I never realized how many different vendors were selling theses batteries. Do I need to get a marine specific deep cycle or ? My old ass (68) can't handle transporting the lead acid batteries any more way to heavy, there's other issues that account for me not wanting to handle those heavy batteries but that's another story. There has to be 1 overall winner but each says theirs is better(normal sales pitch) plus some 12 volt 100 Amp hour batteries are $299.-$999. What a challenge trying to decide. Anyway thanks for any input.... I also have a bass raider 10e with a traxss 55 lb thrust so battery would serve double duty.

Dobyns Maverick Reel
I have a 7:2.1 ,wish I would have not purchased it, seems like the brakes have no resistance an to cast I have to tighten spool control knob down alot,,,can't cast it without major backlashes unless I have the brakes an spool control all the way on....it is now just a flip pitch reel,so it doesn't get used very often.

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
Has anyone added drain plugs to the rear pontoons,on the lower part of them for easier draining of water, instead of taking everything out to stand the boat on end to drain out of the front drain plugs?

Drilling holes in a plastic boat.
I've had a bass raider 10e since 2013,now I'm debating on whether or not to drill holes in it to add some accessories, need some input on pros and cons of drilling holes in the plastic, I have used industrial strength velcro with luck, but I dont know if that stuff looses it strength or not,and I end up losing something....thanks for input

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
no clue why pelican has a 3 prong receptical on their boats when theres only 2 wires that are in it....your good to go with the 2 prong plug......I have always charged my battery with the minn kota box attached...kinda the way they designed it so you don't have to unhook and take the top off, but I still take the top off and go straight to the battery posts to charge the battery...seems like it charges quicker

1 of the best moves I made on my 10e was to install 2 millennium marine 100 series seats on my boat....feels like I'm sitting in 1 of my treestands, easy on the back, but, plus they breathe so you dont get as warm like the standard seats that comes with it......100 bucks each, was well worth it for me and my fishing partner who is also my financial advisor, chef, drinking partner bed mate...lol....she loved me making that seat move....easy to nap in also

Dick's Sporting Goods what are they thinking
Well I recieved a 50 dollar gift card for DSG at xmas...went in today and was surprised at what they had in their (NE Ohio store) plenty of shotguns, some 450 Rugers, Ruger 6.5 creedmoors,a few others no ar's,lots of avian turkey decoys and plenty of calls, lots of lews combo fishing gear mach green, orange, and white green, even had some lower end diawa combos baitcaster and spinners...lots of lures, soft plastics, kinda unreal what they had there...anyway left there with a shimano sienna 30 bucks, that's going price everywhere, and a ned rig kit, finished my 50 dollar gift card,so no need to really go back in there...they closed a gander outdoors down that was close ,cabelas is 1-1/5 hours away and BPS is 3 hrs away.....oh they also had Dobyns Furys baitcaster and spinning rods $119.00 each pretty good selection too kinda surprised me

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
Hi Neil, invest in the minn kota trolling motor battery box,its got your needs covered as far as circuit protection goes.....it has circuit breakers built in...plus extras.....I would take an ohm meter and see which wires are the positive and negative in the front connector and get the proper individual connector to attach wiring to front connector from trolling motor.....the included wiring is adequate for your needs.....wish I was there to help you out......I worked at car dealerships for 40 plus years.....you only need 2 wires as the battery is the only ground for electricity (plastic boat) positive and negative.......I dont have my trolling motor in the front or battery up there either....my g/f complains it's in her way lol....I'm retired now so I can leave her azz at work and go fish......send me a PM if you have questions or feel unsure about hooking up the trolling motor!

Does anyone use millennium boat seats? If so do they mount to the swivel plate that comes with the boat or do you need new plates. Also what's the preferred anchor system you use?

Small 2 man bass boat options....
OP you need to go to the any pelican bass raider owners out there thread...there's like 120+ pages about the little boats! I've had 1 since 2013 and love it..just my g/f and me go out in it....I've been on full power boat lakes with it without issues, but the wakes from those 250 motors can make your cheeks pucker a lil when they get ya rockin an rollin!

Power pole type anchor
Has anyone made or use a similar anchor system like the power pole micro minus the cost of a power pole?

Reeling hand?
just so happens I reel left handed when fresh water fishing....when using a jerk bait or top water it feels better to me moving the rod with my right hand to move the bait I feel like I have more control since im right handed...what does it really matter....do what makes you feel better.....90% of the bass pros reel right handed....1 guy on sat mornings tv...hook and look fishes with left reel baitcasters and he doesn't seem to have a problem with his technique.....so if ya wanna be like the pros you better get right handed cranking reels otherwise do what makes you feel better and comfortable when fishing

Reeling hand?
Does it really matter? Left or right if your catching fish whats it matter if you use left or right hand...which hand do you pull the hook out with

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
Your not being lazy your being smart, loading on a trailer is much easier,I have the same hf trailer with plywood and carpet, just remember once on the trailer if battery and or trolling motor is in the back tie the front of the boat down or it will pull a wheelie when you pull it out of the water,I've had mine since 2013 and love it,have taken on some major waves from the pretend to be bass pros in their high dollar boats, kinda scary but have never had a issue.....enjoy the little boat, no gas or oil to worry about, gets you in skinny water, and myself and gf have caught plenty of fish out of it

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
I used 2 spring locks on the right side attached them where the boat 1/2`s come together and made a pole out of 3/4 pvc sharpened 1 end filled it with sand made a handle for it like a flats boat push pole...oh I filled the sharp end with in with jb weld....I tie it to the bracket right rear and have had no issues...it kinda works like a power pole Sept way cheaper....if you can't push it in the bottom ot the lake it will at least float..it's 8 foot long....shoulda made it 10 ....if I go deeper I just drift....my g/f occupies the front so not to bad in the wind....hope this helps
