  1. When you guys are t-rigging them, are you pegging them? or letting the bullet weight free slide?
  2. Yeah.. that "type any 3 digit numbers you want" into the pormo bar, kind of made me say pass. Seems like this is some type of scam etc. Im just going to have to stick with the old saying "You get what you pay for" as it has never steered me wrong in the past. But thanks anyway for the post.
  3. Hmm, don't know about this, seems kind of too good to be true type deal. What do you think branuss, do they seem quality? Or anyone here have a pair who can answer that question?
  4. Just a quick question, are the lenses glass, or plastic?
  5. For the winter months, its a 2inch(its small, im guessing 2inch) rapala huskyjerk. For the warmer months its a GYCB Kut-Tail, t-rigged weightless.
  6. I feel pretty much the same way as brent, although I'll add in the list a jig, so if you have a jig/spinnerbait and buzzbait you don't need a chatterbait. I bought one of these baits in the Booyah version, boogie bait I think it was called, anyway the hook on the thing had a bump imprinted on it about a dot behind the hook point, I had to file the bump off, and the hook still wasn't anything "quality" sharp. I caught a few fish on the bait but nothing worth bragging about, I feel a spinnerbait/jig can easily replace this bait. Although I have heard a black/blue one works well at night, not enough to get me to buy another though.. Unless these things go on sale for 2-3 dollars a peice I won't be buying another.
  7. I use scent on pretty much all my baits except for spinnerbaits/hardbaits, as I feel the fish bites the bait, and gets the treble hook (or single hook from spinnerbait) there is no time to hold onto the bait when the fish feels a treble so I think adding scent to these is pretty pointless. As I believe bass don't pick up scents from a distance, I believe it takes effect when the bait is in the fish's mouth. As for my soft plastics and jigs, I use scent as often as I can. I use Megastrike for my soft baits, and since the Megastrike seems to make the jig trailer stick to the skirt I prefer Yum Crawfish scent for my jigs.
  8. I keep them in the original bags too, but im fishing from the bank, so unless I want to be carrying around a tacklebag (which gets annoying to me) I store the bags of softplastics in my vest, my vest will only hold 1 plano, and that plano is for my hardbaits/jigs/spinnerbaits. I don't bring everything with me when im walking the lake, I'll keep majority of my baits in the car, and take a plano which I will fill with everything I think im going to need/use. But again for the soft plastics I keep them in the original packages.
  9. Dicks Sporting Goods, warranty was 20bucks, I said no thanks .
  10. Shimano will stand by their product even if I didn't purchase the warranty?
  11. This reel made the sound immediately after coming out of the box, so I don't think its dirt/line. Should I return it? The sound is very low, just want to know if its normal or not.
  12. So none of you notice a quiet humming sound that comes from the reel on retrieval? Somoene on the cabelas review called it "grinding".
  13. Hey, I just bought this reel, and it feels beautiful. The only thing that caught my attention was when your reeling, the reel makes a very quiet "humming" type sound I guess I'd describe it as. Now this may be normal, I thought I'd ask to see if the rest of you guys who own this reel have the same thing, or is the reel silent when retreiving for the rest of you? The reason I ask this is because Ive used reels that make this humming sound over a period of time, due to friction inside the reel, when originally they were silent. Now the sound isn't loud at all, but it is present. Is this just normal with this reel? I am not looking for suggestions on how to eliminate this problem, I am merely looking to see if this is normal with this reel, or if it is indeed a silent reel and I got a defective product. Please let me know because I did not purchase the warranty, so after a month is up I cannot return this reel. Thanks a bunch.
  14. Hey, I have been fishing local ponds lately since the ice cleared off them, but its been really hard to find bass. I got about 8 on saturday (all dinks) and then I went back to that same lake on monday, when it was even hotter, and only 2 bass (and they took me awhile to get). Just wanted to know where you guys look for bass in March, drop offs? Cover? Deep water? Where do you look?
  15. Yeah, forget gulp scent!, make a bottle of appliable original berkley scent.
  16. I don't see anything about it being discontinued on there, does that mean were safe?
  17. Hey, I was at Gander Mountain today, and was buying a few small 2 1/2 inch Husky Jerks, since they are my go-to bait in the winter. Anyway, I went to buy a few and they were really low on stock. Most of the colors were colors I didn't like, although I did buy the last one of their gold/green color. I went over to the guy who works in the fishing department behind the counter, and asked when they'd be getting new stock in for the rapalas, specificly the Husky Jerks. He told me the Husky Jerks are going to be discontinued and they are not getting another stock of them in. Now maybe he doesn't know what hes talking about or somethin, but if this is true im in alot of trouble.. These lures are my all time favorite hard jerkbaits, and are pretty much the only true lure I can count on in this cold water situation. Do you think hes full of it? Or are they really being discontinued?
  18. Yeah, I don't think im going to buy anymore jigs over 4$. They are the type of bait you lose most imo, so buying real expensive ones is a pretty expensive game, unless your rich or somethin.. :-/
  19. I know there have been alot of posts about positive things, such as good baits, good deals, finding baits etc. But I recently lost a real nice jig which I bought at a sports show (costed me 6 bucks). Anyway hearing some of the most expensive/best baits you guys lost would make me not feel as bad lol :. So what high quality baits have you lost before? On a fish? Snag? Or what ever?
  20. I rig it with a 4/0 skirt up. Colors I like are black/blue and greenpumpkin. (watermelon, watermelon blk fleck, and greenpumpkin all pretty much work the same imo..)
  21. That missing eye is going to really throw off my confidence though.. I'm a perfectionist >.
  22. Hey, bought a Lucky Craft Splash Tail awhile back (8months maybe?) Anyway, about the 6th cast one of the eyes came off. After that I put the bait in the bottom of my spinnerbait box, and never touched it again, so basiclly its collecting dust. If I could get the lure a new eye I'd fish it again. Will Lucky Craft replace the eye for me? I don't have a receipt, and I didn't but it any cabelas or Bass pro, so I can't go into their store and get it exchanged like I hear you can (I bought it at some small tackle shop). I tryed emailing Lucky Craft at Luckycraft@support or w/e the email address was. I haven't had a response from them and its been a week. What is your opinion on this? Is there anyway to get the eye replaced, do you know of a different email address or way to contact LC? What would you do in my shoes?
  23. I'd also consider tubes.
  24. Hmm do you think there is a good chance of catching them now? Or not likely?
