Jig Fishing Questions
While the football jig is probably the biggest go-to for harder bottom and rock, it all depends on the size of rock. If it was small loose rock, then I am not sure what was happening as that is what I would have used as well. But if it was large chunk rock, concrete, etc.., then no jig head style would have helped if you got it wedged down in between chunk rock good. All I can say is don't give up. You may be 0-2 at the moment but so were the Yankees in the 1996 World Series - in which they came back to win it all.

Matching a reel with a rod
With a MH/XF setup? Those must be some big plastics!

Weak areas - and did you improve?
No, you're absolutely right. Most often, if not all the time, our weakest areas are generally the things we do the least. And it only makes sense.

Night fishing for bass
This! I stay away from treble baits, and my go to is a bladed jig with a big paddle tail trailer. I burn it subsurface. I fish it hard and fast when I have the window figured out.

How many carry while out fishing in the boat.
For me, I don't carry with an intention to frequent places where I might need a weapon. It would be irresponsible of me, as a concealed carry individual, to purposefully put myself amongst unsavory characters where a weapon was required for me to feel safe. If I had a ramp where that was an issue, I just wouldn't go to that ramp/lake/river (jut like you said). Even having my weapon, even being trained, even having to qualify with a side arm for the Marine Corps every year, nothing beats the old adage of being that bigger man, and walking/staying away. My gun does not make me invincible, and I don't ever let my mindset portray that. Also, as you stated, if there were shady people at the launch, why would you still launch and leave your tow rig at the ramp? That's just zero common sense and sounds like someone just wants an excuse to carry.

Fantasy Fishing 2018
I think he's in Bucket B due to odds. If you check the Bassmaster Classic Odds publication, there are a lot of similarities between better odd anglers (A&B), middle range (C&D), and long shot anglers (E). Most all long shot anglers in the publication are listed out in Bucket E... ?. I'm sure there's a reason. I just don't know it.

I had this same conversation the other day while at Wal-Mart. All y'all on here finding these treasures at your local Wal-Mart and I have to explain what fishing is to mine..... ?

What percentage of your fishing tackle purchases are made online?
Roughly 50% I work to support two main local businesses. One considersbly larger (with 2 locations) and the other being a real small bait & tackle. Both places are more expensive than what I can find online, but between convenience and the fact their both family owned and local, it makes it easier.

Fantasy Fishing 2018
Can someone explain, in simpler terms, how the points and rankings work when selecting anglers? Ie: attached image. How are these compiled, and how does correlate to team points? Sorry for the newb question. I've never played before. Edit: I do now see that the ranks and points appear to be overall power rankings of the anglers based on 1 event thus far on Lake Martin. So do these correlate to my fantasy points at all or are points based solely off where they finish on these events day by day? My main question, is that in many fantasy formats, there is a high risk high reward for certain players/anglers. So will picking a low chance angler do anything more than picking Casey Ashley (as an example)? Outside of the probability aspect.

Any luck with flukes/super fluke?
If fishing 1 fluke is boring, just use two!

What have you learned this month?
I actually learned something today from @WRB Sonar reflection is off the swim bladder (due to air/gas and it's relatively high reflection rate). Who know! I've never known this (or did and probably forgot ). Either way, good start to a Wednesday morning!
