Hey all, when you airbrush a crankbait and you are unhappy with how it looks, how do you start over? Assuming it is before clear coating, do you need to remove all the previous paint or can you just shoot another coat of primer and start anew? I use all Createx and Wicked acrylics. Thanks in advance.

For those of you who paint your own lures, how do you handle the soft plastic tails and fins that sometime come with the bait? Soft plastic dye colors are so limited. Will a acrylic such as Createx adhere to them? Thanks for any suggestions here.

Just read that they are going to begin filming a $100M remake of "Midway" at Oahu/Pearl Harbor next month. I love the original and watch it every time it comes on (even though I own the DVD.) I hope they make a production befitting this incredible event and leave out the extraneous love stories this time around.

I use to work for a guy who threw a full can of that stuff in the tool box in the back of his rig. The can punctured, he slammed the lid and the next day started cutting his tools out of the block of foam. ?

Being born and raised in Western Washington, I know nothing about these species. Several years ago the state started stocking sterile Tiger Muskies in some of our lakes in an effort to control some of the less desirable species that have appeared. My question is...when bass fishing in lakes that hold these fish, do you routinely use wire leaders? Or just roll the dice that you won't be surprised by a toothy critter? I would love to catch one (must release if under 50"), but I would hate to lose one along with some expensive gear. Thanks

Yup, I'd say smallmouth. They change colors like a chameleon. I could always tell at weigh-in if fish were caught on rocks or in weeds by the color variation.

Friday. Water has had time to warm up and should be pre-frontal. I would be looking for transitions into spawning areas and throwing alot of spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, and jerkbaits. Not necessarally. I fish a large lake that is 8 feet deep at it's deepest point. Two hours of continuous sunshine is enough to effect the water temp.

Abolutely! My home lake is clear enough to see a dime on the bottom in 20 FOW. Trust me, when I fish stained or off colored water, I'm definitely using high vis line. After 40 years in construction, I have lost a lot of sensation in my hands and where I haven't lost it they're covered with callouses. After all, I am a line watcher first and foremost.

One particular instance that is etched in my memory. My brother and I were fishing a hump on my home lake which is gin clear water. I began catching 2-3 lb smallies on a Fat Gitzit. After my 3rd fish my brother asked to borrow some of the tubes. Still, I caught fish and he didn't. As an experiment, we switched poles...his with 10# Stren Flourescent Blue, mine with 8# Green Trilene XL. He caught a 4# smallie on his first cast and several following while I managed to catch one dink. I am not here to convince anybody that line type makes a difference, but in my experience it can.

Too many times I have fished with a guy in the backseat where one is catching and one isn't and the only difference is the line being used. So yes, I do believe fish can be line shy.

I'm likein' those points at the entrance to the bay with the island in the NE corner. I'd be throwing jigs and slow rolling spinnerbaits.......knowing that I'd be fishing all day for one or two strikes and hoping I was ready.

Back in the day when rod lockers were 6' long, some rods were made to collapse from 7'6'' or more to 6'. I still use a couple of flipping sticks and crankbait rods that were made like that. Do they still make these?

Anybody using these on a regular basis? I fished out of a guys backseat at a tournament last year and he kicked my butt with one. He was in first place with big fish after the first day. He was throwing a black 3/4 oz model with an 8" black culprit trailer. And he was throwing it in fairly open water. I've used them before but usually only in a pad field or fairly dense vegetation. Needless to say, I ordered a couple but haven't had a chance to try them out yet. Anybody using them?
