  1. 1. Wind 2. Wind 3. Wind
  2. That is correct.
  3. Go on the Navionics website and see if they actually have maps of the lakes you fish most often. This was a deal breaker for me, Lakemaster didn't have 'em. I rely on my Navionics heavily.
  4. I remember my dad bought a tube like device from Herter's that let you see below the surface. We would also attach a balloon to a perch or crappie and release it to follow the school.
  5. Anybody make a bubblegum tube?
  6. Put a 4" lift kit and 36"ers on my '79 CJ. My wife said she couldn't get in anymore.....it was too tall.

I bought this Dot-Line and used it this spring. Works fine for me. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-LANDNETS.html?from=basres
  8. This is kind of a fun site to peruse. I found some things I've been looking for for years. Some are ridiculously priced some surprisingly not. https://trainers4me.com/-/11/823/386/g17vintage'e1254'1g19BestMatch'e23'18936e13'1492e16'1/185/
  9. In my experience, I've found I catch just as many large bass on 4" lizards as I do 6" and 8". Whatever the size...they just hate 'em.

  11. Knowledge....every time.
  12. Bladed swim jig....ie, Chatterbait, or a paddletail bait rigged weedless. You're doing a good thing with that little guy.
  13. I was fishing a lake in E Washington yesterday when a 4' rattlesnake swam by. I've heard stories of snakes slithering up your outdrive and becoming your new best fishing buddy. Anybody have any experience with these critters? I've lived on the left side of Washington for 64 years and this is only my second sighting.
  14. Great time to take up lure making. Spinnerbaits and buzzbaits are among the easiest to master and customize. I don't pour my own but there are many lure bodies available both painted and unpainted. Good luck!
  15. Thank you both. Just what I was looking for.
  16. If you can let them soak in a livewell with this additive, it does help. http://www.sure-life.com/pro_CATCH_AND_RELEASE.html
  17. Does anybody make one with a copper blade? Thanks
  18. Thank you all for your replies. I fish out of a 18' Ranger so the shore thing is out. I think I'll pick up a grip of some sort. I don't target them at all and I don't use a wire leader so even getting one to the boat would be a long shot. My main concern here would be the well being of the fish so I wouldn't be removing it from the water if possible. Unless it looked to be over 50.
  19. I fish a lake that the Game Dept stocks with these sterile hybrids to control the pike minnow population. Although I have never caught one, I have had a few in the 3' to 4' range swirl under a retrieved crankbait or spinnerbait. My question is....being that I fish alone, how would I even land a fish that size? I carry a normal size rubber net that most bass guys carry. I've seen the sling type that real pike/musky guys use, but can a lone fisherman even use something like that? Although I probably will never even hook up with one (must be at least 50" or over to keep), I would like to have an idea of what I might do if I ever do. Thanks for any ideas.
  20. I told my brother about a new lake I found where I had been catching good numbers of large fish. The next weekend he was there with his boys enjoying the same kind of success. The difference being that he keeps and eats everything he catches. And if that that wasn't bad enough, he told all his buddies at work and now they are doing the same. Never again.

You're using the wrong kind of net.
  22. There was a video going around last year showing a bass breaking thru ice to get at a topwater bait. I'll throw one year 'round when wind and water conditions are right. https://www.facebook.com/bassdork/videos/1850286431927584/
