  1. Had (have) a lot of success with grape shad also.
  2. Welcome neighbor! Here's local source you might peruse. http://www.northwestfishingreports.com/
  3. Gather all your neighbors Christmas trees this year and sink 'em out as far as you can cast. Man, that hole needs some structure!
  4. Fished my way into a bay on an Eastern Washington lake a few years ago and came upon 7-8 Turkey Vultures sitting on a rock. Never seen them in this state in 60 years. I had to call the Audubon Society to confirm that that's what they really were.
  5. Around here, we'd call that dinner.
  6. Just a question or two...did you rabbitt the frame? Router or table saw? How did you join the miters? Thanks
  7. OK maybe slack isn't the right word. I am saying you have to be able to see the line move. You won't be able to see it on a tight line.
  8. You have to become a line watcher. After 40 years in construction, I have lost a lot of feeling in my forearms and have nothing but callouses on my hands. I can no longer feel strikes like I use to. By leaving a little slack in your line you will be able to see any strike before you would be able to feel it. You will have to experiment on which lines provide you the best visibility and work best for your style.
  9. Couple of Revos, Navionics HotMaps card, Shadow Rap Shads, blah, blah, blah.

  11. "Out for delivery" Yes...Yes!!! Brown is coming today!
  12. Yikes....what was water temp?
  13. You wouldn't like it here. I just heard on the news that we have surpassed our normal rainfall totals for the whole year. And it's only March. Oh well, at least the lake levels are up.
  14. One night every year, sometimes in February sometimes March, just like someone flipped a switch....all the frogs in the pond across the street start croaking. This usually coincides with the blooming of the ***** Willows and the Japanese Cherry trees. Time to start sharpening hooks and changing line. GAME ON!
  15. Only thing I might listen to is a Seahawks game. I love country music but never when I'm fishing. Concentration is the key to a more harmonious outcome.
  16. Spinning: Zebco Cardinal 4 Casting: Quantum QD1310L
  17. Saw him first in Terminator....loved him ever since....RIP Bill.
  18. You don't specifically mention a bait for bass. So for the best all-around bait for all species I'd have to vote for some variety of Mepps spinner. A close second would be a Daredevil or Flatfish.

  20. I have gone to Mister Twister Comida worms for the reasons you just mentioned. About 1/2 the price and catch just as many fish, IMHO. I've been using these for wacky rigging. I can catch multiple fish on the same bait.
  21. Ive been fishing for bass for over 60 years and I'm pretty set in my ways. My "mother" lake has some of the toughest fishing conditions you will find: located in heart of large urban community and heavily fished, water clear enough that you can read the date on a dime in 30 feet of water, heavy recreational traffic, and waterfront land owners with too much time and money on their hands that will pay to have someone literally "mow" the weeds out in front of their house to 20 feet deep. Last spring I bought a couple Original chatterbaits and first time out decided on white and I left that ridiculous looking twin tail trailer on. I started catching fish almost immediately. Largemouth, smallmouth, even perch and google eyes. I tend to fish them much like a spinnerbait with a steady retrieve and will "kill" it next to objects. Since then I've thrown the same bait in a variety of waters with varying degrees of success......but always have caught at least something. I've branched out now and found that I like D&M Pirhanna II's a little better if only for their great colors..."Too Sexy" being my favorite. Everytime out now I have one rod dedicated to some form of bladed jig.
  22. I grew up using it and have never seen a reason to change. Mostly Trilene, Big Game, and some Stren.
  23. Any floating bait is a topwater bait....until it isn't. Throw a crankbait next to a log, dock, stump, etc......pause a bit, twitch it a couple times before you begin your retrieve. You'll be amazed how many fish you'll catch on a topwater crank bait.
  24. I'd drive the 20 minutes. To do it right would cost bunches. You'd have to secure a Hydraulic Permit, and I'm assuming being that it is a river, you'd be dealing with fluctuating water levels and flooding from time to time. You would gain a lot of new "friends" though.
