Last movie watched
Saw two good war movies over the week end. The first was "The Wall" about a sniper team pinned down at the end of the Iraq war. Second was "Mountain II" (AKA Dag II). I believe this was a Turkish film that is sub-titled but very well done about a Turkish Special Forces squad on a rescue mission in Iraq.

Casting Reels
Yeah, I've got a couple 5001's. I guess I was thinking more about a low profile type of reel. Thanks.

Casting Reels
Does anyone make a reel that has a spool release button rather than a thumbbar? I got in the habit of thumbing the spool when fighting a fish and thumbbars just get me in trouble. Thanks

Favourite Clear Water Spinnerbait
My home lake is gin clear. I've had good success throwing a spinnerbait that I make. It's a tandem colorado with deep cup hammered copper blades. Black with black/chartruese double tail trailer for largemouth, white and chartruese with white double tail for smallies.

Musky Baits
Given the ridiculous price of glide baits, I'm looking for some DIY advice. Does anyone have a good source for 2 piece, jointed plastic bodies 7 to 8 inches? Ive seen some at LPO but don't really see any that catch my eye. Also, any tips for painting jointed bodies? Separate or paint as one bait? Thank You!

Returning at a later date to catch a fish that was lost.
I was fishing a lake a few years ago and I lost a 6lb+ LM on my third cast of the day on a spinnerbait. I returned to that point at least 5 times during the day and nada. My second visit the following day produced a 6lb 7oz LM on a Rebel minnow. You can't convince me that that wasn't the same fish. On another occasion, I was pre-fishing for a money tournament on a local lake. I caught a 4lb 4oz SM off a bed. I returned the next weekend and caught her again. The next weekend was the tournament and I went straight to the spot and she was still there and appeared to not have spawned yet. She would not touch anything I put on that bed. That fish would have been big fish for the tournament and put $500 in my pocket.
