  1. guess i did
  2. hey guys, what size spilt rings do you usually go with for senkos. for those that are confused, i want the split ring so i dont chew up senko's when i wacky rig them. any suggestions on sizes and brand would be great. i also assume most are the same girth, but just for reference, im using yamamato senkos, yum dingers, and tiki wave sticks. thanks for helping guys on the same note of split rings how are those ultimate smartlink titanium rings that you find on ***? they soudn like a great idea but i can also see how you could lose fish too. anyone use them?
  3. has anyone bought any of the new zoom colors? i just tried to buy some motoroil chartreuse trickworms but they were out. anyone have any pics of the new colors?
  4. alright....sold on the gunfish, now what colors i be seduced with? thanks
  5. hey all, just bought a new finesse rig and tackle but i was wondering when you hook these things (mainly using flukes and zoom finesse worm) should i skin hook these or do i let the hook point barely penetrate through the bait? also just wanted to get a feel for what everyone uses (bait wise) for finesse fishing (also productive colors for you)? thanks for looking.
  6. thanks, how far should this rig go on average say for a 4' leader (dont know if length should matter)
  7. i apologize if i am high jacking this thread, but also how do you guys cast this being that the leader is anywhere from 3-7' long. even with about two feet it seems like my casts (even with heavy plastic) doesnt seem to go very far. plus how do i avoid hooking a partner on the boat? thanks every one.
  8. sweet thanks a bunch guys. keep'em comming with recommendations
  9. hey thanks for all the opinions. keep em comming. i will be accidentally dropping the list by my grilfriend real soon lol. oh yeah, can someone explain the front drag vs. rear drag? or at least tell me in short which one is better. thanks guys
  10. and that means more toys for me. i was hoping to use this opportunity to make finese setup. what do you guys recommend. i have a feeling a spinning reel and rod is going to be the way to go. the budget will behopefully under 200 (the cheaper the better). i was looking at some of the shimano or the daiwa reels. as for the rods, i have no idea what to go with. thanks for your opinions.
  11. thanks for all the great suggestions. now would you be able to powder coat tungsten? i just bought some this weekend and was just wondering? thanks again
  12. well i guess i am going to ask for an opinion and if i can make this a pole. What treble hook would you chose: owner, gamakatsu, lucky craft, or other? thanks guys
  13. lol they actually sell replacement eyes? lol anywho i contacted *** and they told me to send it in, so hoefully everythign goes well.
  14. yeah those sure set hooks look fun. i had them on a rapala one time, but i lost it in some pads and never got to catch a fish on it. thanks for the info guys, keep it comming. i am eyeing those owner hooks though. anyone have any opinions on this?
  15. hey guys. im trying to upgrade the trebles on all my crank baits. i was looking through bps and *** and saw some regular treble hooks and ewg treble hooks. how much of a difference do the ewg's make? or should i jsut stick with the regular ones? i guess are some better in other situations thatn others? Also, how do you figure out the size of the hooks you need. i mean going over the internet, i can only guess but i just cant mentally gauge the sizes. is there any brands you guys recommend. i am liking what im seeing in the owner treble hooks. these are going on some rapala shad raps, looking for extra replacements for my lc pointers (78 and 100 sp) and some of my chug bugs and daiwa poppers. thanks for looking and for your input guys.
  16. hey, good job man. i attended the same tournament, and didnt catch squat. infact, my boater (from georgia) didnt really have a startegy cause his first one kinda bunked. so we moved to 9th street canal, and i put him on a lure selection (which he excelled at) and he caught enough to land him 3rd in boater. next time im going to keep my big fat mouth shut and just fish (hate to sound negative and secretive). well hopefully i can catch enough in the rest of the series to qualify as not catching any this time really hurt me. from what i hear, camp mack isnt going to be fun because of the ramp structure and parking. dont know only heard by word of mouth.
  17. wait so the air comming from below seeps through and keeps the paint fluffy? im sorry, im still not too sure about this. my initial comprehension was that it kinda made the podwer vapor like kinda floating aroudn and then when it contacted the weight or jig, it melts onto it. i dont know, coudl you clarify it some more please? good job on fluid bed though. im thinking about that and making something to suspend the weight or jig in the oven. thanks
  18. dang itl, i bought it online form ***, what do you think senko?
  19. thats good to know they are still effective, but it jsut stinks that some pieces fall off after really light use. this wont stop me from buying them though, cause gosh darnt hey are fun especially the lv100.
  20. so i was fishing a tournament yesterday and decided to use my grand spanking new lucky craft pointer 100sp. however, on the second cast, when i reeled it in it was missing one eye. Now i know over time, wear and tear happens, but this was only after the second cast and it didnt run into anything (it was running through clear object free open water). should i try contacting lucky craft directly and tell them of the problem, talk to the place i bought it (internet sale), or is it just futile? this sucks, but i guess in worse case scenario, at these things still effective with only one eye lol. thanks for looking guys
  21. yeahi have asked my local tackle store guy (cant count the years of experience) and he didnt recommend it. he also used anarbor knot like RW said too. my thoughts are if the holes are not smooth or rounded out, that sharp corner has the potential to cut the linethere. i jsut wouldnt do it personally. the arbor not is more than suffice.
  22. cool, i will give them paper clip/wire a try next time. yeah im using a butane torch but i feel i might be heating them up too hot...any sign (besides melting off) that i heated the weight too hot? also, for baking, you powder coat it first right then put it in the oven? if so do you need to suspend them so the powder (if it gets soft) doesnt get deformed or stick to anything and such? thanks a bunch
  23. what do you use to hold the weight and also clear the hole??? it jsut stinks caus ei notice while i try to clear the hole is when i chip it an such. can anyone give me their exact process including tools used? thanks guys
  24. hey guys. well to save money, i bought a jar of powder coat (pro-tec) so i can save some dough and have black weights. well i started out small with 1/32 weights, and ended up melting two of them, coating two decent ones, and making 21 of them look retarded. then i moved on to half oz. weights and they came out even but with chips around the hole (same on some of the smaller weights). i was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to correctly powder coat or at least direct me to a wep page that can. also what kind of tools do you use to hold the weights? any advice that would facilitate powder coating would be greatly appreciated. thanks for looking guys.
  25. man this stinks, what are the usual stuff for the size two? i just want to avoid buying more plastics. what do you guys usually use for these size 2 weedless gamakatsus? i was thinking about maybe hooking something like a gambler bb cricket buy the tail and jsut pitchign it under docks and stuff.
