one cold front and two water conditions
hello one an all. well i have two tournaments comming up with zero chance for prefishing.....so im gonna have to rely on good ole research for my base. well there is a supposed bad cold front moving through which is supposed to be bumping it down to 30 degrees or so. well the first lake will have alot of canals, lilly pads and docks. i can only guess to dead stick a worm or a jig at the base of the lilly pads (if they are still around). the second im not too sure about except that it is spring fed and crystal clear. for this i was just thinking of a hard jerk bait like an lc pointer. any adivce would be great. thanks for looking

lucky craft had to have paid the bait monkey
alright so i have two tournaments comming up this weekend. in preparation for one, i bought some jerk baits....primarily lucky craft pointers. so i logged onto *** and got two 100 pointers in american shad and aurora gold, and also an lv100 (the lipless with the fin) in american shad also. well thought that was done, but then i went to go get a gold x-rap and ended up buying another pointer a 78(???) in aurora black. so i have read some opinoin on these but if you would like to express anymore, im down to listen (it will comfort me in my recent attack). also would you guys recommend these for a cloudy lake that is going to be experiencing a somewhat bad cold front? the other lake is crystal clear too. anywho, any opinions or advice on how to fish would be greatly appreciated (i know about the jerk jerk pause then repeat). have a good one guys

Being front ended?
"Any boater who, in the judgment of the tournament director, operates the boat in a manner that unfairly handicaps their co-angler partner will be disqualified for that day." what kind of techniques qualify for this rule???? any examples would be great

The new guy on the block is curado 200 dhsv. i decided to buy this cause of the nice colors lol. jokin aside, i plan to use this as a worm/jerkbait/any other suitable plastics set up. im gonna go try to match it up with a rod today. if any one has any suggestions on other techniques this reel should be used for i wouldnt mind the suggestion. just for fyi purposes, the count is now 2-2 daiwa and shimano lol.

craw jig trailer mod
I am certain that I would need to see the footage of this happening before I could come to any hypothesis on the matter. I second that motion. All in favor, say I

reel for worm/fluke setup
Im currently in the market for a reel for the above mentioned. im very interested in a shimano curado. however, i completely devoid of any knowledge as to what specs a reel for this set up should have? do i want it fast or slow? even then, if the answer is 6.3:1 or so, i would switch out a citica i have and use the curado for something else. what are your opinions?

strategic rod setups
Well so far everyone that i have fished with did flip so thats not to wasteful for me. Just trying to make do with what i have. what kind of specs do i want in the reel? also would i be able to make a setup for worms and soft jerkbaits together? im sorry if i sound a little picky. thats why i listed my other setup so i can maximize efficiency in terms of use. but thank you very much for everyones input. oh yeah if you want to throw in line opinions that would be awesome.

strategic rod setups
so i guess the worm rod should use a spinning reel? i was hoping to use another baitcaster. what line shoudl it be equiped with and also what shoudl the specs be with the reel. i was hoping to outfit this setup with flurocarbon.

Coangler techniques
when you dead stick a senko you are basically letting it sit there as long as you can and then some right? how does this attract fish? i mean do slight changes in water direction cause the ends to flutter a bit or something? just curious. but i will try this out next time on harris if it affords the opportunity. thanks for everyones help. i wish i would have done that but with a bit more patience.

Coangler techniques
they paid out to 40th place for each side (boater and coangler) he came in 31st. but oh well at least i got points. by the looks of things, seems like a little under half didnt catch anything. any chance of doing the same casting to nowhere technique with an ika? i just bought them and i have alot of fun with them even though i have not caught anything with them yet. and also, for next time, should i texas rig or wachy rig those senko suckers lol.

strategic rod setups
Hello all. I konw there are many combinations that are specific to baits and style, but putting style aside, im trying to manage about a 4 rod setup that can cover the basics. 1: Daiwa procyeon (7'6" heavy) with a daiwa triforce 150i for flipping 2: Daiwa tierra (6'6" medium heavy) with a daiwa viento spooled with braid for jigs, spinnerbaits, frogs 3: Daiwa tierra (6'6" medium) with a shimano citica 6.3:1 starting fresh with a recommendation for a line for light to medium crankbaits my question is, should i get another rod for worms and soft plastics? i was hoping maybe i could make this setup for flukes, creatures, and c-rigs using flurocarbon line. I was thinking about some all star rods cause i can get a discount but if you guys say other wisethats cool. I am hoping to not bust the bank with this setup so i guess the range shoudl be similar to the ones above (sorry not to sure of what the prices are). Any suggestion for this new set up would be awesome. any if you guys have any other suggestions for the rods mentioned above, i am more than willing to listen. anything to become a bit more efficient in a tournament without having to haul a bunch of rods around. thanks everyone.

Coangler techniques
thanks. yeah, apparently he found some pretty big ones staging. the area we were fishing didnt really have deep areas per say. but if deep area you mean open areas, then great. i tried to cast in areas that resembled his but it was difficult. would areas of hydrila where fries were swimming count for anything?

Coangler techniques
Hey everyone. I competed in my first official tournament ever, the Walmart BFL series, in lake Toho. I would like to thank my boater, Joe (not to sure if im allowed to post full name) but he was great and very informative. if it werent for the competition he would have taught me even more. The day was a little difficult to fish since the bass were easily spooked. water conditions were clear to very lightly stained and 70 degrees with mostly sunshine very few clouds and winds from 10-15 mph. my boater filled his limit and i caught 2 fish for a total of 2 lbs. 9 oz. I placed 98th but my friends told me jsut as long as i get points and be consistent than im good to go. But anyhow, I wanted to ask all you coanglers, when your boater is bed fishing, and concentrating on one place, what do you do? the only thing i could without disturbing him is randomly fan cast around. i tried casting in places that has similar conditions as where my boater found fish that were locked on, but sometimes i coudlnt cast out there. any type of advice on techniques for coanglers would be awesome. Thanks a bunch guys

Zoom Salty Super Flukes
i konw the double rig (mentioned a couple of threads below) is good for schooiling fish, but what about spawning fish? just curious cause the rig sounds fun for this stuff.
