modifying, upgrading, tuning, etc...bc reels
I just saw a post by Redlinerobert where he bought some jdm reels and changed out some parts. Well that kinda motivated me to do the same for my reels as well. However, i am looking to upgrade the internals. I already had a friend tell me how to change out the bearings for betters ones in my curado but i would like to do other thigns while in there. I saw a couple weeks ago about replacing the clutch as well but cant seem to find. But regardless of the things just mentioned is there anythign else i can do while in there? Sorry if the is a very noob question but i dont konw much about internals besides seeing the expoded axonometric drawings in the paper work. With this i was wondering if the same can be done for daiwa bc reels? here is a list of the reels i have and was wondering if i could do any internal "performance" upgrades: Curado 200dhsv Citica 200d Daiwa viento Also, would you guys be able to post places to buy the parts as well? Thanks again, and sorry for the nooby question. Kar p.s. woudl you guys also be able to include somethign about reel maintenance, cause i would like to learn that too. i think it is time for me to give them a good tune up.

First tx win with biggest fish I ever caught
This is my first tx win even though it was with a club, but none the less it was freaggin awesome one. In addition to getting first I also bagged big bass (7.42 lbs.). Here is a pick of the baddest one I have caught so far. Enjoy!

MegaStrike
if anything, it gives me more confidence in the plastic im using. the only downside of it imho is i forget and leave it uncovered lying on my tackle bag and it turns into liquid leaking out everywhere.

knot to use for flipping rig and braided line
yeah i use a palomar knot on my other braid line but i like how when you tie the snell knot upon lifting the rod tip it cause the hook point to pop up like a stinger. i guess im trying to ask if you can tie a snell knot properly with braid and still have it be effective (holding the knot or so). or will it slip. thanks guys.

venom worm glue
i dont think it does. with the acetone i use, i know once you get some on your skin it instantly evaporates and probably leaves very minute trace amounts of whatever didnt evaporate on your skin without odor.

knot to use for flipping rig and braided line
well like the topics suggest. in my previous rig (i think i was using like 50lb mono) i just tied a snell knot to the hook. Now that i have a new reel (kvd sig bc) with 50lb power pro braid, what kinda of knot should i use (this rig is for flipping only)? i guess what do you guys use? thanks

venom worm glue
alright in all my excitment about a cheaper glue, i come to find out (after recieving it) that it is only for a 1/3 oz. (9.3grams or so). At this rate, mend -it is actually cheaper by weight. Well i guess the next step is to jsut test it. as of right now, superficially i see that the liquid inside looks a little thick (very viscous). but im goign to try it out anyways to see how it works. if i wanted to thin it out, what would i use to do that and not negate its properties? thanks on another note, i am an architecture student and was wondering if acetone (which i use to join acrylic piece together) would work on plastics because it works on the same principle of actually melting the plastic together. has anyone tried this yet? thanks guys

Megabass XPOD
anyone know what the password is for the secret command under the action mode manual?

venom worm glue
Well i guess im going to be a guinea pig on this one.
-
venom worm glue
thanks for the reply. im already sold on the mend it glue, but i want to know how the venom glue is. is it the same thing as mend it where it actually chemically melts the plastic back together hence why it is not sticky to anything but the plastic itself.

venom worm glue
hey guys anyone use this product yet? i am in the market for plastics glue and i was really interested in the mend it glue, but if the venom glue works the same (rather than a strict super glue it actually melts the plastic together) i would get that cause its almost half the price. thanks guys

broken daiwa tierra and 5 year warranty
Hey guys, i have some questions about my subject title. Well i was fishing with my daiwa tierra rod and upon setting the hook on a fish the rod tip broke (at the 4th guide, inclusive of tip). well i saw that there was a 5 year limited warranty on the rod and i have only have it for less than two years. i called the cust. rep and he sounded clueless but told me to send it in where they would inspect it and get back to me. i would hate to spend the money on something uncertain (like it wont be covered under warranty and im out on the shipping money). Do you guys still think i should send it in anyways even though i dont have the reciept? or should i save myself the hassle and use the shipping money on a new tierra rod. i dont think i mistreated or handled the rod considering i do keep it indoors. i dont know, i am kinda confused on what to do. what are your opinions? Thanks guys.

New Shak-E2 Heads have been shipped
i just got mine today while i was surfing this place.....wierd. the jigs look awesome and cant wait to try them. mine dont have the weed guard though. doesnt matter they look freaggin sweet. so i konw these can be versatile, but i was hoping to use this on my finese outfit (i think 8lb line with med light rod) would these be a bit on the heavy side for this? just wonderin. thanks again for the awesome free samples.

What LC topwater?
i just used a ghost minnow gunfish yesterday in a tournament yesterday. i caught quite a few bass on it (it was an overcast day). on one particular cast i caught two fish at the same time which turned out to bee two good ones. beyond the stories, it is a fun bait and really easy to walk the dog with.

secret santa gift
thanks road warrior. kinda giving it more thought, i think i might get him a jig rod (cause i think that can also somewhat double up as a frog rod) cause buying new baits should be cheaper. anyone else?

secret santa gift
hey guys. well i am in a secret santa with all my friends, and the friend i drew up so happens to be one of my best friends and somewhat hardcore bass fisherman (actually turned me to bass fishing). so......i am planning to get him a rod and reel combo. now the reel is a 6.4-1 and has the standard gear and some extra options. my rod choices are 6.5' m,mh, and h. now there is not going to be a certain technique this outfit will be fitted for, so i guess my question is, which reel and rod(m,mh,h) should i get for him? i figure a m rod would be a better all around rod but he already has alot of worm rods so im thinking maybe mh so that could accomodate some jigs, frogs, and maybe spinner baits with some heavier crankbaits. what is your opinions. thanks guys.

are these snaps OK?
hey, is there a general rule for terminal tackle in terms of sizes? for instance, the lower the number, its always a bigger size or vice versa? like on owner treble hooks, i believe the smaller teh size, the larger hooks (i think thats how it goes). What do you all think, cause i am in the market for for soem snaps, but dont konw which to order cause i dont know the sizes. Thanks everyone

Shad Shape Worm - GYCB
In the april 2007 flw outdoors mag, the feature article on jighead fishing (i think its more along the lines of finese jighead fishing), shinichi fukae uses that shad shaped worm on a 3/32 oz. finese jig. i was gonna try a pack, but the zoom finese worms are too much fun. tell me how those shad shaped worms work out.

split rings for senko's
lol man i feel dumb, my mind was so set on split rings for some reason when o-rings are infinitely better lol. thanks for the info guys. on another note, anyone use those titanium wire split rings....the ones that are supposed to save your lureby releasing your hook. they sound like a good concept and pretty well engineered. i read a review on tackletour, but would like to get the opinions from people on this forum.
