  1. A 45 pound cat that bit a Lucky Craft RC 1.5. Had me and the boat going everywhere. Fought it for about 40 minutes and had a small group of boats watching. Fun stuff for sure.
  2. Yes. I've got a bunch of Toad Jigs. In my opinion, they are the greatest football jigs available. They work great on Table Rock.
  3. 1) Webb's Baits black magic 2) Berkley Power Craw 3) Berkley Beast Those are my top three. If one's not working, another one is.
  4. I had the same question about a year ago. I just started a new subscription under a different name.

  6. I think it more than lived up to the hype. I alos forgot to add that Iron man was great too. Yeah, I personally think it's WAAAAAY overrated.
  7. Washington county lake in Illinois is chatterbait central around here and it's load with wood under the surface and is off colored much of the time. Most guys fishing there have one tied on at the start of the day and it's one of the few lakes I've been on where that bait will catch fish over a regular spinnerbait many times. Otherwise my results have been mixed. Believe it or not, I have found that to be true with some parts of LOZ. Thats when a white chatterbait is the go-to bait. Did extreamly well down there this year on them. Have yet to fish Washington County Lake, but will have to put that down on my list.
  8. Role Models. I'm kinda tired of all the Dark Knight stuff, I personally didn't think it lived up to all the hipe.
  9. My store did not have any. I asked the guy, and he was clueless. But then again, he was clueless about everything related to fishing.
  10. Understood Bass XL... as I said, it's very low end as far as resorts go. In fact, we experienced a broken water main a couple years ago, took them about a day to get it repaired. We weren't too happy about it, but it's funny what a few Bud's and a shot or two of Jim Beam will do for ya ;-) We're a bunch of guys who are there to fish, do some grilling and have a clean place to sleep... on as little $$$ as possible, so it's suited us pretty well, thus far. Now, if I were going with my wife and/or kids, that would be a different story. Agree with ya man. I just dont think I'll be going back again...I can still remember that smell.
  11. Chatterbaits DO work. I've found out that they work best in dirty water in and around wood cover, and at night.
  12. Not to knock on ya srv...but I stayed at Boomerang once, and it'll be my last time. The cabins were alright, but one of them had a sewage leak underneath it and it stunk up the whole place. I don't know, just not my cup of tea. I recommend going to the Crest Lodge.
  13. Yes, definitely get a long rod. At least 7' 6". I have a 7'6" Co-Matrix and it is great for deep cranking. I've used an 8' rod and it's even better. Basically, the longer, the better
  14. Well, I'm thinking Mr. Randy Howell is going to do real good here. I'm saying: Randy Howell Greg Hackney Mike Iaconelli
  15. Jigs would be my number one. With most coming on an Omega and a bunch of big ones on an Eakins
  16. I caught a cat on at tow water frog. Scary, but all went well.
  17. Rad Lures of course!
  18. I also got some pink reelgrips from my mom.
  19. Here's my advise: Don't drink and drive. You could of had far worse problems on your hands that night. You could have crashed into someones car killing somebody's mother, grandfather, sister, or child. Now how would you like to have that on your conscious?

Well with that statement, I'm sure you are!
  21. Well I've had a great christmas, always do. I didn't get too much fishings stuff, 2 gift cards to BPS and a few lures. My top two gifts of the day were: Costa Del Mar Hammerhead's (white frames/blue mirror lenses) I've been looking at these through the display case for over a year, and my parents finally gave in. But that was pretty much all I got becuase of the price tag that came with them. Another good one was my Nike Oncore's. Either love em or hate em. I for one, love them.

    Wow, that's beautiful!
  23. I've got two: #1) Start fishing super...super slow. #2) Work on that football jig some more.
  24. Bass XL replied to Thad's topic in Tacklemaking
I really, really, really, like it. My favorite so far!
  25. The jig is one of my go-to lures in the winter. Get a black and blue jig and just pitch it into the middle of the trees and just let it sink down. If no bite on the fall down, then reel it up and try it again. It covers a lot of water, and I've had great success when I do it. Another technique I like for winter is just crawling it on the bottom. Very, very simple.
