My preference in order Boogerman Racket Buzz and Magnum Racket Buzz Cavitron Lunker Lure

Stan Sloan Aggravator. They are made with 0.40 wire and will hold up well.

Try this - pull off about as much line as the longest cast you would make and then pull another 2-3 feet. Take a piece of electrical tape cut to the same width as the spool and place it on the line. Then reel in all the line. When you start to get a backlash, it will only go as deep as the tape and you should be able to pull it out with no problem.

I also use hi-viz braid at times and never use a leader. I use a green and/or black permanent marker and color about 4-5' up the line from the knot.

I've been using the 5/8 and 1 oz. Aggravator Spinnerbaits for night fishing and in the winter for years. They are top notch.

I'm still using the Hellbender in some of the Mississippi River oxbow lakes I frequent. And the Hellraiser is one of my favorite topwater baits.

75% of my fishing is done in the Atchafalaya Basin/Lake Verret area in south Louisiana. I only use the following in Black/Black Blade or White/ Gold Blade 3/8 oz Boogerman Racket Buzz, 1/2 oz Boogerman Magnum Racket Buzz 1/2 oz Lunker Lure

For the past 30 years I mostly fish at night this time of year. I like to fish from the first quarter through the full moon to the last quarter of the moon phases.

Do a search for Keen Newport H2 sandals. I've been wearing them in warm weather for the past 9 years have no complaints.

Go to the Fishing Articles page and then click on Fishing Lures. You will find several articles about fishing a buzzbait. My main advice is don't hesitate to use them during the middle of the day. Some of my biggest fish have been caught this way.

Usually the fish will be active on a windy bank so I'm most likely to throw a spinnerbait or a shallow crankbait. I've also had luck with a buzzbait, spook, and a Devil's Horse.

I would start with a 1/2 oz. Johnson Silver Minnow in black nickle or gold with a trailer. After that it would be a toss up between a Spro Frog, Ribbit, or Senko.

Spro frogs are all I use and I fish a frog quite a bit. Colors listed have all worked for me. Rainforest Black (early/late in the day or cloudy conditions) Leopard Tropical White (clear skies) Tropical Yellow (mostly during post-spawn) Redear Green Tree

As I've posted many times, the Johnson Silver Minnow still produces for me.

After 50 years of bass fishing there is only one thing that will make me get off the water -- thunderstorms. I have no doubt that an approaching thunderstorm could make fish active, but I don't need to catch them that bad.
