  1. Tackle Warehouse really shouldn't have put those jackhammers on sale...I now own more jackhammers than I will go through for a looooooong time.
  2. I think I'll start with the big center one and the rest dummies, and see how it goes and then maybe experiment. I do kinda wanna have the possibility of a double up. What are some of your guys go-to baits for these? I was originally just gonna slap some fat impacts on and call it a day but they are a bit fragile.
  3. I kinda wish I hadn't seen this...
  4. Interesting I hadn't thought to do just one hook. How different does the color have to be? Like if I do all the dummies as a 3.8 silver flash but make the one with a hook a 4.3 with a bit of blue tint or sexy shad coloring is that enough you think?
  5. Hey everyone. I just got my first A-rig but fish in states that limit to two hooks. I got the tactical flex rig and it jas the top three dummies, the long center wire, and two bottom wires. I was thinking I'd rig the top 3 dummies, and the two bottom ones with hooks. But what about the center wire? I'm almost thinking of just cutting it off since it's the farthest back and I would think would get hit more. But I'm also considering rigging that one and the top three with 3.5" baits and the bottom two woth hooks with larger 4.5" baits.
  6. Roboworm in a GP chartreuse is a go-to for me. I like to rig them weedless on a size 1 or 2 straight shank worm hook and drag them through deep weedlines.
  7. I like to think I'm pretty good with a baitcaster, not quite as much with a spinning setup but that's just cause I don't use them as much. By the time the vegetation starts to grow in in the spring I'm pretty warmed up and can do what I need to, whether that's skipping under docks/trees, or pitching in between branches. Most of my casts are sidearm or roll casts, I find that gives me a lot more control.
  8. Middle of the day, hot July 4th weekend, bluebird skies, 3 FOW over some thick milfoil beds on a rat. Went 6-4 in MA. Not exactly textbook but I'll take it lol.
  9. Years ago when I was a kid my dad and I launched his fiberglass stingray on that stretch and went upriver from Haverhill in hopes of some spring stripers. Sketchiest experience of my life on a boat I don't know how we didn't hit something. He did manage to get one 39" striper but that was it, never doing that again lol.
  10. Anyone getting into any tanks this summer? I've been taking a bit of a break and doing more hiking. Gonna try and hit it hard in the fall though.
  11. I've seen a decent amount of EPOs down that way to when I do make it down.
  12. I don't catch many pickerel using them unless I hop them faster. Some days I just can't get bit on the big worms though, it happens.
  13. I tend to go either big or small in the summer. Big worms on a T-rig are my favorite in the summer. I like the 10" curly tail power worms, and also the 12" Manns Jelly worms. Lightest weight I can get away with, usually a 1/4oz unless it's windy or real deep I'll do a half ounce. 5/0 straight shank worm hook. The other end of the spectrum I'll rig a 6" roboworm on a size 1 hook. Sometimes I'll rig it with some split shot above it on the line if I'm working it slow through heavier weeds, or I'll dropshot it on the same hook, just rigged weedless. Can't go wrong with a weightless senko on an EWG hook either.
  14. It does get busy on a nice day. A lot of kayakers but jet skis are not allowed thankfully. It's a fun lake to be on in less-ideal weather because of how undeveloped it is. You feel more like you're in NH or Maine with not a soul in site.
  15. Has anyone else noticed a distinct lack of bugs lately? I keep hearing articles saying the population of all sorts of bugs has been declining for years but never really noticed it fishing until now. Normally I see tooooooms of bees in those white flowers in the lily pads. I might have seen like...3 today. Very few dragonflies too. I remember I used to have to keep them from constantly landing on my rod and line.
  16. You fishing out of a kayak or small boat? Whitehall is my "default" a lot of times. It can be hit or miss cause a lot of vegetation can make it difficult to slow down and finesse fish, but offers tons of opportunities for heavy cover fishing. It's a nice lake, very undeveloped. Chance to see Eagles and Loons there too.
  17. I've never had great luck at Chauncy tbh. I try it oncea year usually to give it another chance but I don't think I've ever caught anything much over 3 there.
  18. Thanks for all the feedback guys. He's gonna take it in this week.
  19. Slow and hot day today. The wind made it bearable. Managed 3, two dinks and a solid 3.5lber on an MS Slammer.
  20. Gpod to know thanks. I should also mention the actual splines that the prop engages with are a bit wonky. As if the entire shaft twisted a bit. The prop still goes on and off fine so I'm not sure it would matter if the shaft was straightened.
  21. My dad was killing it last weekend ripping a chatterbait and underspin out of weeds to get a reaction. They'd eat it as it was falling back down after the rip. It was weird cause they wouldn't touch a spinnerbait the way I usually fish them but the second I started doing the same thing I staryed getting them too.
  22. I figured I'd ask here but has anyone swapped a propeller shaft on the newer Evinrude Etechs? My father has a 150 Etech (2016) and hit a rock and it's not severe, but you can see some slight walkout when the propeller shaft turns. He'd like to avoid paying a shop to do it. Has anyone swapped one before and how much of a hassle was it? We're having some difficulty finding like a manual for that engine so any insight on a repair manual or video would be much appreciated as well. I assume the seals should be replaced while it's out as well. If it comes down to it he'll probably take it in. Thanks.
  23. Yea for some reason jerkbaits for me only produce dinks when I try them in the warmer months so I usually put them away.
  24. Had a pretty good father's day weekend. Fished Friday and Saturday with my dad. He actually outfished me pretty good on Friday, getting 15 bass and better size than me. Saturday I flipped it and got 15.
