  1. How do you like the Perfect Pitch? Bought my first Megabass rod this spring and looking at the Perfect Pitch as a second.
  2. I’m a Daiwa fan, having multiple Tatula Elite series and they do the job well, if you’re not afraid of buying used these can be had at decent prices along with the Cronos and Zillion series. All three are great rods. I’ve had the opportunity to fish a Kistler and ALX, I’d recommend them as well.
  3. Call Gary @ Tackle Trap. He can set you straight. Good dude.
  4. I've owned the Fuego, Tatula, and now Ballistic LT. Between the three there's no wrong answer, add in the Procyon LT and the market is flooded. I don't see the point of going beyond the Ballistic LT, sure if you wanna spend 400+ on a Certate or Exist go for it. Best bang for the buck Tatula LT imo.
  5. How would this compare to say Sunline Shooter? Both are premium fluorocarbon.
  6. Thanks for the response Tom. I have an idea what you mean reel and rod sweep. Meaning reel up slack and sweep the rod left or right, versus just going straight up and back. Most of my fishing is done from the bank so weeds are fallen branches are always something I contend with. Guess that's why I chose 14lb FC Sniper vs the 12lb FC sniper in my bag.
  7. My set-up is a 7MMH Tatula Elite AGS w/ Steez 103 XS. Most of the jigs will be 1/2 oz heads and under, down to 1/4 and half skirt trimmed up. My current choice for line is 14lb FC Sniper.
  8. Must be good, haven’t tried any. Maybe I’ll order a spool.
  9. Decided to run 14lb FC Sniper. Think this will fit my choice. Had just enough to fill the spool.
  10. Looking at throwing more finesse jigs and finesse football jigs, that being said whats the recommendation for line? I hear a lot of people using anywhere from 12-15 lb fluorocarbon or 30-40lb braid to leader. My rod is only 7ft, but I'm confident with it. Really trying to narrow down line.
  11. Megabass I-Slide 185 this winter 60bucks tax included
  12. I have fished a Helium 3 for a short period and loved the rod, light and sensitive. The Expride is nice as well, well balanced and sensitive. I’d look at the ALX Zolo dragger too, fits in the bunch quite well.
  13. 7'3 Med Spinning-Senko 7'3 MH/F Topwater 7'4 MH/Mod Fast (graphite) spinnerbait 7' MMH/XF-finesse jig 7'4 H/F Frog or 7' H/F Glidebait My first tournament isn't till late May if memory serves me right, co-angler with a college friend.
  14. If you’re not apposed to buying used, look at online market places like Facebook Marketplace and online groups. I’ve seen several high end spinning rods end up for sale at the $300 and under range. Most in my area are well kept. If you're set on new then St. Croix, Megabass (talk to Gary at Tackle Trap), Daiwa, ALX (great rod for the money), and Shimano Zodias and Expride. All will help you find what you’re looking. My personal preference is towards Daiwa. Great sticks, good sensitivity, and light.
  15. 7-7’4 HF, that is my preference. It’s what I’m comfortable with as I’m a bank angler and taller at 6’4. However I don’t like rods longer than 7’6. They feel awkward to me.
  16. I was given about 30-40 worth of hooks, plastics, and two frogs by the guy who taught me how to throw a baitcaster. He showed me a lot and from that I’ve helped others. Given a way baits, sold reels below asking price. I love the reactions. Helping others is worth it. Not afraid to share tips or tricks with others.
  17. I just talked to owner of Tackle Trap yesterday and this rod came up in discussion. He likes it a lot and said it’s great for frogs, and jigs & Texas rigs in that range. Another rod to consider is the F7-70k Destruction. It’s a bit heavier with a more moderate action.
  18. Talk to Gary at TackleTrap, he can set you straight.
  19. Powell Inferno Medium or MH Moderate fast action-$100 brand new from tackle-warehouse
  20. Gary was a big help, gonna pick his brain a bit more next week before making a choice. His recommendation was the XXX Destruction F7-70K, moderate taper, better tip and loads up better. Faust is very unforgiving he mentioned and needs a heavy load up 1oz or higher to really load up. Thanks gents.
  21. My 7’3 Cronos mediums is great, paired with a Tatula LT 2500 6:2:1 gear ratio. Great for tubes, small swimbaits, and other finesse baits.
  22. Looking a couple of Megabass Rods for short, stout rods similar to the 7’3 Expride XH/Fast. Purpose is frogging and flipping. The two I’ve narrowed down are: https://tackletrap.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1066_1893_1894&products_id=8349&zenid=8111a8ed2b23e0344f5eaec81fbdf7d0 And https://tackletrap.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1066_2409_2410&products_id=10657&zenid=8111a8ed2b23e0344f5eaec81fbdf7d0 Looking for one one that would best mimic the 7’3 XH Expride. I’m open to other options, but overall soft tips I am not a fan.
