  1. I’ve handled one and was not the least impressed. Felt like a Fuego with deeper spool, bigger handle. Think people would be bette off with a 100CT or Tatula SV, or Type R. We we had the Northwest Sports show in Minnesota here recently, that’s where I handled it. I would not spend the 150 they are asking.
  2. This is my experience and the reels I’ve owned. Daiwa Laguna-sold Abu ProMax-sold Lews Tournament-given away Curado I-sold Curado K (6:2) A *** (8:1) sold Tatula SV (6:3,7:3,& 8:1) Curado 70(7:1) C by *** (7:3) sold Chronarch ci4(7:6)-sold Chronarch MGL(7:1) Daiwa Zillion (6:3) Aldebaran 15 (7:1)-sold Daiwa Steez A (7:1)-paid about 100 less than retail at tacklewharehouse The ones I’ve kept are because I value what they bring to the table, now granted some of these reels are crossovers in what they do. The only reason I bought the Steez A was because of the price and wanted something to compare to the Aldaberan. However those are two different reels altogether. I would say $100-$300 is the best price range in reels. The reels I sold was because mostly wanted to try something new and higher in the price points. My favorite reel of my first three was the Lews, but once I found the Tatula SV it was all over. Love the reel, everything about it fits my hand, style of fishing, and is comfortable. The wider spools are what keeps me coming back to Daiwa, I’m 6’4 and my thumbs are wide so it allows me to have the most real estate on the spool. Sold my 10+3s because never really throught they had the trouque for reeling in fish.
  3. P-Line Tactical or FC Sniper imo.
  4. Owning the LT Tatula so far yes it’s worth the price, super smooth in all its functions and lightweight. Have yet to fish it but a local store had 20% off on reel which made it hard to say no. Can’t wait to fish it, sits on my Cronos Med Fast.
  5. I’d suggestion looking at the Curado 70 or Curado K, hard to beat both of them for the price. Need a reel to throw lighter baits the 70 will do it, want to pull a big spinnerbait the K is on the job. I’d save up for either of these two imho.
  6. I fish both: flouroclear and fluorocarbon. I will tell you that flouroclear is okay at best, but for a copoly there are better options out there. That being said, I’ve had moderate luck with flouroclear, but 90% of my set-ups are braid to leader, straight braid. I’d suggest thinking about braid to leader, because all you’re doing is replacing the the leader line of the time. Just a thought.
  7. No, you’re not as I do as well. However there is just something strange about a Steez with the oversized knobs such that are on the Tatulas. Let me know what you find OP.
  8. For me it’s simple or maybe not lol! Please note I am a bank angler and lots of the lakes I fish are loaded with weeds near shore. 1 Spinning/4Casting Spinning-ML or M F, 7ft-7’3 Cronos Daiwa Tatula 25-3000 braid to leader Casting Powel Inferno Med/Mod Fast 7ft Daiwa Tatula SV 6:3 or Curado 70 7:1 Braid or Mono-cranks n top water Cronos 7’6 Heavy/Fast Tatula SV 7:3 or 8:1 Braid 50-65lb braid Tatula Elite AGS 7ft MMH/F Zillion SV 6:3 30lb braid, maybe leader 7’4 MH Tatula Elite Steez A 7:1 Braid to leader, 30-40lb to 15lb flouro leader Aside from the last set up, the top four were my primary set ups last season and did work for me. If I had to, I’d be okay going to just these 5.
  9. Finesse goes two ways. Spinning is the more popular of the two, for that I’d go ML or Medium 6’10-7’3 pairing with a 2500-3000 reel. Casting go ML with Curado 70 or Tatula SV. The reels are great for throwing light tackle. Personally stick with a spinning setup even though I have a casting set up for finesse baits.
  10. I've tried just about every brand out there or all the major ones. Lews, Abu, 1-Three, Daiwa, Shimano. The only other brand aside from Daiwa and Shimano that I like is Lews. Of those three Daiwa is my favorite and the one I own the most of.
  11. P-Line Copoly in 15# and up, but like stated above that’s a tall order for one rod.
  12. Powell Inferno series, under $120 and good sensitivity.
  13. Being that I have both, depends on how much you wanna spend. Both are great.
  14. I tube fished river smallies here in Minnesota, I would use nothing lighter than a medium. There are guys when fishing rivers for smallies and tubes they go medium heavy cause the hook set and they fight.
  15. Umm dobyns, they seem to be super sensitive. I have a few daiwas and love them.
  16. IMO Cronos unless AGS. I’ve had two Cronos and love them. My medium is great, fanonomal sensitivity. I haven’t had had a Tatula Elite spinning rod.

  18. Love the Tatual SV TWS that I own, great reels and smooth.
  19. I fish all Daiwas, I’m willing to try something new yet happy with what I’ve got.
  20. Welcome! Nice to see another Minnesotan, I’m out in Osseo. Originally from Duluth.
  21. I get it, I’m in the same spot. Good luck dude
  22. I don’t know dude, guess it’s prefrence for me. Frogs you need a fast action where Hudds I’ve leaned toward moderate fast like the Dobyns Fury 795. Entry level swimbait rod, $119 out the door. As for reels, it’s preference too. Just me but if I’m throwing Hudds it’s gonna be Calcutta or something similar.
  23. A Hudd is gonna be 3oz at minn, a frog at most will be 3/4oz, nothing personal but I do not see how a frog rod will work for Hudds. I wouldn’t bother with 6inch hudds, instead going straight to the 68 special a 6inch with a 8 tail. Reel speeds: 8:1 for frogs, Hudds need a 6:2 or slower, like a round reel. Something to think about.
  24. Ive never thought about the Steez SV, to rich for me, but wanted the deeper spoil that comes with the Steez A. Check out eBay as that’s how I found mine. I don’t ice fish so I keep planning around the summer and my shooting hobby.
