  2. For me , finesse so wacky worms and tubes however tubes for smallies isn’t fair really. Never threw my big glide baits this year, was always afraid of a pike biting me off, well as it would have it snapped the line on my s-waver late fall. Jumped in the waders but never found it. Got multiple 4s this year and high 3s but no 5s. My best bass was my last, swimbait at a little local lake in Roseville super pressured. Couple was taking engagement photos and I walked in on the bank late October afternoon. Started pitching out to the right of me, looked left for a second to see a bass jump straight out of the water. Reeled my swimbait in, fired off in the direction of the fish and almost immediately got hammered. I was hootin’ and hollerin’ and boy did that fish fight. Wish I could get a picture up. I made a big order from TW to prepare for next summer. Going to dedicate more time to glide baits and walking baits.
  3. The AGS Elite will probably have a better reel seat than normal Elite. The guides on the AGS are crazy sensitive.
  4. I use the 7’3 medium Cronos for tubes and love it. Great rod. Had the 7’1 ml and loved the rod just wanted a medium. Preference. My opinion unless you go Tatula Elite AGS go with the Cronos rods. If you like the AGS rod I’d look at the 7’6 Feider and Ehler dropshot rod.
  5. Which model do you recommend for what I’m looking.
  6. Cabelas should have plenty.
  7. Where do you think they are moving them? China/Japan? That’s what I don’t like or care for truthfully.
  8. Have no desire to build my own rod, but I’m still searching. Got plenty of time.
  9. A couple things I will tell you from fishing in the $200 combo range. Don’t be afraid to buy used gear, some of the best deals can be found used.
  10. True, it’s not bad however when comparing to others it’s not great. However I have broken two rod tips and one eyelet in my two seasons of bass fishing.
  11. I would think so. What’s comparable to the xpride in other brands?
  12. Soooo I’m trying to find a rod to pair with my Chronarch MGL 7:6:1 reel. I remember fishing an Expride and liking it a lot. So how do the Exprides stack up versus competetors in their range? I typically like Daiwa Cronos or Tatula Elite rods. That’s my comparison. My high end rod is a Tatula Elite AGS Ehler and man it’s senititve. Rod would be for walking bait and ploppers.
  13. How did everyone do for Black Friday sales?? I don’t ice fish but man everyone is selling ice gear locally. I might grow my rod/reel collection some more lol! This is a problem lol!
  14. So it sounds like either a dedicated swimbait rod or a heavy to xtra-heavy for the 6.8 keitch. Dang!
  15. Your guess is as good as any.
  16. I've found some nice deals on Amazon as well, but ebay has killer deals. Baitcasters: Daiwa, Shimano, and Lews.
  17. Fish I’m in the same boat, looking for a glidebait 7’6 and under for same reason. Transportation. I found one rod I liked, it was 7’4” Zillion but super light on weight it can throw. 1/2- 1.5oz. Not ideal.
  18. I’m going to call Dobyns today and talk with someone over there who can give me more insight.
  19. Why not the Zillion I linked earlier? Yes, it seems to be on the light end. Curious I guess.
