  1. I'm quite content with the Tatula Elite and AGS rods. Love them. However if price was not an issue there are some nice Dobyns and G-Loomis rods out there.
  2. Think I'll stick with the current 200 and 70 models.
  3. Depending on the line I'll tie palomar knot, San deigo jam, or your standard clinch knot.
  4. I have the AGS guides on my 7ft MMH Ehrler and love that rod. Throw a lot of weightless set-ups on this, thinking this will be a solid set-up paired with my Tatula SV 7:3:1.
  5. Yes, I have and it's been fantastic with sensitivity. Wacky rigs, senkos, and the like are great. I wouldn't hesitate to throw small finesse jigs or light Texas rigs in open water. Been loving it so far, my one piece of advice: watch the guides. The AGS guides are carbon fiber and seem a little more sensitive. Well worth the cost imo.
  6. Owned a Zillion for about a month now and love it, took sometime to adjust as with any reel. Since then its effortless in both casting and cranking, this is my go to spinnerbait, chatterbait, and swimbait reel. Honestly, I think you'd be hard pressed to go wrong either way and you won't be disappointed.
  7. Thanks gents, I messed around with it this afternoon, distance is better. Still shorter however acceptable.
  8. Curado I owners, how do you set your brakes? I've gone 2 off 2 on. Was throwing a frog on my 7'6" H Fast however not nearly getting the distance I'm looking for. Compared to my Zillion, Tatula SV I'd say the distance is 20-30% shorter with my Curado. Throwing 40# Power Pro. Any thoughts?
  9. Curado 70 or 200 I, Tatula CT, CT-R, SV, Lews, Citica. Like many of others have said, you cannot go wrong with any reels in that range.
  10. I've got a Bergara HMR-14 in 6.5 w/ Bushnell LRSTi 4.5-18x44 on top. Fairly new still and breaking her in had been a treat. Solid shooter and a great little rifle. Comes in around 11lbs scope rifle and bipods. Need a sling. Hoping to shoot PRS style matches eventually and price is competitive as the Ruger, Tikka, Howa, Savage or just about any other entry gun. Mine was 999.99 plus shipping.
  11. Thanks for all responses, I think from what's been said most bank anglers carry 2-3 rods depending on where they are fishing. However they are not limited to owning more than what they carry out on each trip.
  12. Welcome! Head on over to: Glad to have your aboard.
  13. Thanks for the replys, hopefully this will help me and others decide how many combos they need.
  14. Thanks everyone, I'll keep this in mind. No more combos for now. Still trying to figure out what to do with my two finesse set-up, one is baitcasting and the other is spinning.
  15. So I am at 6 combos, somehow I managed to duplicate two finesse presentation combos, one is spinning the other in a baitcaster. I find myself consistently taking 2-3 rods out each outing and however around two currently. I love the flexibility that having this many combos affords, but not really sure if there is any practicality to owning more than I can carry when out fishing.
  16. A recent conversation with a friend left me pondering a question: What is the number of combos a bank angler should? Then how do you determine the combos? Do you take all finesse? Grab two stouter rods and something light? Yes you might have quest it, I am a bank angler and currently sitting on six combos. When I go I never take more than three with and frankly it's the same two every time. Typically don't fish a lot of cranks just because it's hard to find areas that are weed free or crank friendly. I'd like to hear what the community thinks. Please refer to the questions above.
  17. Cedar lake @ 5:19pm my bass sunk has ended. Wacky rig senko on little Cedar Lake. 10lb flourocarbon and a nice little bass in weeds gave me quite the scare, eventually landed the bass. Might switch up to something heavier than 10lb for finess tough cause the weeds are bad.
  18. Still have yet to find the bass, only pike or walleye. Bank fishing life is tough. I'm off this week so hopeful to find a bass or two.
  19. Zillion TW SV in 6:2:1 seems to be good.
  20. Nice Punch!! Looks like a good outing.
  21. Out for a few hours the last couple days and all I'm getting is pike or walleye. Have yet to catch my first bass of the season.
  22. Honestly from what I've seen in the Cronos n Tatula Elite rods personally the Tatulas are better. Better blank, good sensitivity, and just a good deal for the price. Now with that said, I own a ML Cronos rod as a spinning setup, love the Cronos-great tip, good sensitivity, and a comfortable handle. Can't go wrong with either, however personal preference I would pick the Tatula Elite rod.
  23. I love these rods, however my only one is the Ehler 7ft MMH Fast Tatula Elite, love this for light lures or weightless plastics. I'm tempted to pick up a couple more. The sensitivity is awesome.
  24. This is a great resource and here's the current thread for Minnesota lakes. A lot of guys will post updates on what lakes are hot, what they are biting on and so forth.
  25. Goodness, I've had good results at Johanna.
