tatula type r vs tatula sv
Speaking from a first time Daiwa owner and going straight to the Tatula SV, I have only managed two backlashes both due to human error. That being said, before buying one or the another get a handle on both and see what you think in your hands. Today I managed to skip my swimbait on my first few tries, tightened down the controls and no backlash, it's been a lot of fun to use and practical.

Line for swimbaits?
Braid and leader or straight floruo is what they recommend. I understand completely, I will be tossing a 20 glide bait from River2Sea and using 40lb braid with 20lb leader.

New Combo any suggjestions
My first combo was a 7:1:1 Promax n Emotion MH. That pairing will allow you to fish more styles than going with a 6:3:1. You can frog, topwater, jig, flippin, lipeless cranks, shallow cranks, and swimbaits.

Tatula Elite Series Rods
Nice, hopefully once I'm graduated I'll get to play with my new combo! Really can't wait for opener! Yeah, the Tat SV seems like a winner!

Seagur Invizix vs P-Line CX
I've always liked P-Line regardless of the different styles they put out, I've been using their Copoly for a while now and my next baitcaster will have their fluorocarbon either their Tactical or CX. While I have a spool of Seagur, it has yet to be tested.

Tatula Elite Series Rods
You're the second person who has purchased the Ehrler rod. Must be a popular rod, never been a fan anything longer than 7'6".

Minnesota Fishing Reports - 2017
punch I'm glad that my travels only took me as far as Joes this weekend. The new Tatula Elite AGS rod and Tatula SV will round out my combos nicely. Hopefully get out this week or next for sure. Tried Pool 2 earlier in the season and got nothing, however I am hearing in the afternoon from 2-6 swimbaits work great.

Tatula Elite Series Rods
punch yeah with graduation next week, I've earned it lol! I'll post a review when I have time on the water with it. We should get out and do some early fishing this year if you're free.

Tatula Elite Series Rods
I bit the bullet today and picked up Daiwa Tatula Elite AGS Casting Rod 7' Med-MH Ehrler, ordered a Tatula SV in 7:3:1 to go with it, after reading the direction concerning the Air Guide System, this is one rod that will be babied. So far I like it and with the Tatula this should be good for weightless rigs in open water or weightless swimbaits. The rod specs say it can handle 1/8-1oz and 8-20lb line, I'm a little hesitant to throw bigger baits on this rod till I get this rod out on the water.

To all the daiwa sv guys out there
I can only speak for the Tatula SV as its my only reel with the SV, by far one of the easiest reels to setup and cast.

cranking rod help
Powell has some nice rods, most are fiberglass vs graphite. I have a Medium Mod-Fast 7ft and love it. $99 from Tacklewharehouse.com

Fluorocarbon For Spinnerbaits
I have no problem with spinnerbaits and braid, however I'm tying a palomar knot. Also I do through co-poly and like it better than straight fluorocarbon and mono, with a little line conditioner no back lash with either of my A or C reels.

How many setups do I need?
Honestly you could get away with one or two nice combos, just make sure they are not the same rods. I've settled on 4-5 combos and I'm a bank fishing guy who gets on a boat four-six times a year. The more I fish bass my understanding is never spend less than a 100 on a rod or reel. You're younger and I'd tell you look for quality used gear or save your pennies and dimes for new gear. I started off with one combo last summer, bought cheaper gear and sure it worked, but by the end of the season I had determined more set-ups were wanted. Best of luck.

Tatula Elite Series Rods
Thanks! That's good to know, I've been eyeing them since the local story got them in.

Tatula Elite Series Rods
Would anyone have any experience with the new Tatula Elite Series Rods? There are two different styles so to speak the AGS which are 100 dollars more than the Tatula Elite. Looking for any feedback from people who have used them. I'm set to graduate from college and thinking a new rod and reel would go perfectly for grad gift.

Minnesota Fishing Reports - 2017
Been trying the finesse more and more, picked up a spinning rod with some spoons along with a blade bait. Spybait sounds like fun, watched a few videos on them recently. Just excited to get fishiny again! Was out yesterday at Grey Cloud and skunked. Twice now on the river. That's challenging Fishing the river.

Best reel you have used?
My two reels are: Prox Max from Garcia and A Concept. They simply perform consistently and are easy enough to use which is great because of the performance to cost. Mind you this is my opinion. For overall castability I'd say the Laguna from Daiwa because it hucks lures some distance and doesn't really backlash once set. I fish and catch more on the Pro Max for whatever reason.

Daiwa Revros vs. RG
Speaking from my little experience with the Revros 2500 is very positive. Smooth drag and overall a smooth. Casts great, can't go wrong.

Diehard Shimano user....heading to the darkside?
I'll be picking one of the new Tatulas up when they become available, I own a a variety of reels from *** to Garcia, and Shamino along with a couple Diawa.

Kastking stealth or Abu Garcia promax
I have a feeling Daiwa will be gunning for the top spot with their new improvements. Tried and true company. I own Abu, Lews, Shimano, 13, and Daiwa. Love em all, however would love one style of reel for all my set-ups.

Thank you, the Black Max is a good starter. Sounds like you're on your way to building an inventory.
