  1. How will you keep the Walleye off them? Allen
  2. It all depends on the club? The one I fish is that way and nobody will screw you. If they try backboating, etc. they get disqualified and possibly black balled from the club. There are some out there that will backboat their own mother to get 5 points ahead. Allen
  3. The Black Hills Armada! Seriously I have never seen that many boats at once at Black Hills. I am back in Graduate school so not a lot of free time to fish. Normally I cannot find anyone that will fish? Let me see how school goes but there is a Slackwater tournament at the beginning of November. I like this one because I have won money both times I fished it. Allen
  4. Did anyone fish the Slackwater tournament? Allen
  5. Some days they want them and others not so much? Spinnerbait days for me are feast or famine, I catch one or two one day then 40 the next. Don't give up as the fall is when they seem to work best. Allen
  6. Depends on the situation I am fishing as to what hook works the best. Trial and error is the only way to find out what works best for you. I do not own any Trokar hooks because they are expensive compared to others and a lot of people I know that used them say the points roll. For jigs I like a Gamakatsu hook most of the time but creature baits nothing beats a Mustad tube hook. Allen
  7. Looks like a jetboat trail out of WV? I don't know where some of those places are. Slackwater has been tough fishing this year but I know where the LM are. Allen
  8. While I hardly ever use tubes or gitzits (what I grew up I the fishing community calling them) I have to commend you on your overall products. Too many baits produced today are just knockoffs trying to steal some market share from a successful product. Your products seem to be more concerned with functionality than aesthetics that only catch fishermen. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing what you come up with in the future. Allen
  9. Do you have any details? Allen
  10. Everything mentioned will catch fish but I think we have different definitions on this forum. My questions is for the people saying that a chigger craw is subtle? It moves as much water as any similar bait. For me the baits I use go from a Yamamoto 3" craw (absolute finesse) to some custom creature bait with like 8 flapping appendages. I need to try some rage products but I have 100's of other baits to go through first that catch plenty of fish.but I do intend to try them. Allen
  11. Looks like a lot of green pumkin fans which is my overall favorite color. I will recommend three colors that should work: green pumkin (it has worked everywhere I have ever fished except pond 25 on FT Leonard Wood, MO), solid black (it works in any water color), final is whatever matches the bottom where you are fishing. As for baits most will work but I will list a few below that work for me for reference. Zoom finesse worm in GP or black= you cannot fish it wrong and can find them anywhere Berkley power worm 4" curl tail = Solid black with a t-rigged bullet weight 1/32-3/16oz. Senko= 4" Kinami pick your color as they all work but if you need a color 297 is GP, 306 is natural shad and I forget baby bass but they can be bought at Wal-Mart . If these colors do not work there are no bass where you are fishing or your spot is a swimming pool. Allen
  12. I know you are hoarding tackle as well.
  13. It depends on the day but overall they are about the same. Allen
  14. I have a ton of stuff to get rid of myself. Allen
  15. Those were some monsters in the pics! We will hit that place again in the spring for the big fish. At least you now know what these guys are talking about when they name the spots at BH. Allen
  16. They like to really lower the water level of the lake in the fall. I have seen a difference of like 6' between summer and fall. Allen
  17. So how did you do Saturday? I am trying to decide between BH and the Upper Potomac for tomorrow. Allen
  18. 1/32 to 2oz for t-rigs but 1/4 is what I use most 1/8 to 1oz for jigs 1/2 or 3/4oz Carolina rig We do a lot of shallow water fishing so the lighter weights get used more often. Allen
  19. These are inexpensive and work really well. The other bait that has been discontinued but can be found is the Xcaliber XS4. Allen
  20. I have to give Black Hills a try during the fall because I do not think I have ever fished there past September? Allen
  21. Zoom lizards, buby brush hogs and finesse worms have worked the best for me. Try whatever soft plastic that has been a good producer for you this year first. Allen
  22. Bandit 300 like you said but those are not factory hooks. Allen
  23. Go to *** and select creature bait under soft plastics, you will be set. For me it is about making a bait imitate a crayfish more than the actual bait manufacturer. Look up what color your local crayfish are and buy baits in a similar color. Take those baits and drag or hop them along the bottom and you have your craw imitator you are looking for. If you cannot find out what crayfish are in the area buy some in green pumkin, brown or black to start with. Allen
  24. Fished a club tournament on Saturday at Four Locks and my partner hooked two different tiger muskies. The first one we were unable to land as it is hard to get a 4' fish in a 2' net. The second one which I think was smaller we did get into the boat using the Boca style grip that I bought for snakeheads and those dam pickerral. I have a pic on my phone I just need to figure out how to transfer it. Allen
  25. I would be very careful with a canoe at Big Slackwater because of the larger boats. Other fishermen are not much of a problem but pleasure boats think they own the river and do not pay attention a lot. My boat is 18' and they have about run into me several times. You should try some of the small lakes in the area as they are better suited for a canoe. Cunnigham Falls, Big and Little Pool, Greenbrier all can be fished vert easily from that canoe. Greenbrier has a lot of little fish but also some nice ones. Cunnigham Falls is better IMO as there are more fish in the 12-18" range. Big Pool is good but the wind may blow you around too much. Little Pool you will have to carry the boat about 100 yards down a trail to the lake but if you can get in there fishing is great. The only warning about Little Pool is there are pickerral in there that will destroy your lures. My most memorable fish caught at Little Pool was a 22" Brown Trout on a 1/2oz flippin jig. Allen
