I have had one of the best times this year with the Bass bite these past few days. Nothing on top water. Swim jig and creature baits have been nailing the Bass. Keep at it. Fall bite will get better. I am also in the West Burbs. Keep natural colors. Nothing fancy.

Well that answers my question I was going to post! The struggle has been real the past few weeks. I've been way to premature with my Fall transition with lure selections and tactics. Great piece!

I'm 35 mins from Braidwood, 45 mins from Illinois river.. Good bodies of water pretty much all over.

Thanks for the info! I'm familiar with the Chain. To much personal watercraft and Rich kids in daddy's boat for me. I've fished a few tournaments on the chain. Three Oaks rec center? Have you heard of this? Looks like a new place to fish as well.

I would be willing to rent a boat

since we are talking Illinois. Anyone have any good tips on spots for bass fishing up near volo?. I'm going to be up that way this weekend. Just sat to Sunday. I know Foxlake isn't far. However,I will be boatless. I see there's a few "pay as you fish" parks. My guess is they are over fished. I've already found two ponds near the hotel on google maps.

Been Hot out for sure. White Eagle has been great in the early evening and hr before sundown. Top water frog or spook. And yes, stay on the main Pond! Security wont care unless you are pond hopping in the middle of the golf course.
