Retirement and fishing
Since being fully retired I go fishing anytime between Monday and Thursday on Lake Eufaula, AL & have a great time each and every time. Really close to having the 45,000 Lake all to myself!

Why is weight even used on a texas rig?
Weight = Action! Different weight different action especially on the drop!

Carolina rig Line
I use 3/4 & 1 once egg type sinkers with a bead on the main line to protect the knot and produce sound.

BASS FISHING LAKE EUFAULA, AL
Eufaula Bassin, I am very sorry I did not reply to your comment! Do not know why I did not see it. Bass fishing on Eufaula is very tough right now. I am now just spending time prepping my boat and tackle for some Fall action. I see you live in Dothan!

Cheap Rods - Sorry if this is the wrong topic
2 years ago I have purchased 3 Gander Mountain Brand MH 6' 6" baitcasting rods when they were on sale for $20 each. So far they have performed flawlessly. Caught my PB on one of them last spring. They sell them in spinning style also. When not on sale they run about $30.

Power fishing/ search baits
When using a search bait I catch myself fishing too fast sometimes. I do try to slow up and tend to catch a few more fish that way.
