Top water frogs
I knew right away by the bend in his rod that he had something other than a LM Bass. This was a first for me! Which is really surprising since Lake Eufaula, AL has lots of Gators. I recommended to him to keep tapping his snout with the rod tip and he did finally let go. I was sure glad the double hooks did not penetrate into his mouth. The Frog and line were not damaged.

What brand and type of Life Jackets do you use?

Top water frogs
Found out yesterday that Gators love frogs. Had a 3 foot Gator take my fishing partner's frog and it took us 15 minutes to get him to let it go!

Need help deciding best line for possible baitcaster.
It would all depend on lures and techniques you want to use. For example crankbaits would be more effective in their particular depth range with 10 to 14 lb test. For general bass fishing with soft plastics like worms and lizards I use 17 to 20 lb line. For heavy cover I will go with 35 to 64 lib braid. Lots of variables to consider and I myself am still learning.

Can't catch FL bass.
I usually have good luck in shallow ponds with a shallow running crankbait that dives 2 to 12 inches. Try different retrieval speeds until you get a strike.

Name Brand vs Specialty Brand Rods
During the past 2 years I have purchased around 6 new rods. 3 of them were Gander Mountain brand 6 ft 6 in medium heavy baitcaster type rods for $20 each. I use them mostly with Texas rigged worms and lizards. Guess which rods I have caught the most fish on?

Wacky rigging lizards
Just starting trying to fish with senko worms. Bought the Bass Pro Kit when it was on sale. By watching Glenn's video's they can be rigged many different ways. I believe the most effective way would be hooking the worm in the middle section (wacky style) to allow for a up and down motion on each end on the fall for a reactionary strike. Look forward to leaning this type fishing!

Why do you fish?
I fish for Bass to: To get out in the great outdoors by fishing wildlife areas as much as posssible, to relieve stress, learn new ways to fish, plan a strategy to catch more fish when weather conditions are working against you. I could go on and on.............................

Opinion on people keeping Big Fish to eat?
Last spring I caught my PB and my brother was with me. She was on the bed so I let her go very quickly after taking a photo. My brother had a fit and wanted me to keep her. I reminded him that I caught the fish and it was my right to release the fish or not. If he had caught the fish it would have been his personal right to decide to release her or not. I personally always catch and release. I have tested my live wells for operation but have never had a fish in them. It is all personal preference as long as you are within the law.

Take the tire into the tire shop or the whole trailer?
What about the trailer wheel bearings? Are they usually lubed and inspected at a tire store or somewhere else like a boat dealership? I usually inspect and lube them myself but might have to have someone else do them one day. I know the hubs will eventually need be replaced which include the bearings etc.

Had that happen with an owl. It was in the middle of the day and he went for my top water lure. Jerked it away just in time. Owls are very fast!

Sure that would be great.- BASS FISHING LAKE EUFAULA, AL
We intended to fish last Saturday a week ago behind the dam (first time for me) on the River launching early from Franklin Landing. They must have had a tournament going on because it was slammed! So we went on to Hardridge Creek and not 1 boat was there. We fished from there for about half the day and caught nothing. Last time I had any good luck was back in June across from Old Creek Town on the GA side with a crankbaits fishing the grass and blowdowns. All 5 were keepers.- BASS FISHING LAKE EUFAULA, AL
I already have 1 fishing partner in Eufaula but looking for a few more as he cannot go as much as I like to.- BASS FISHING LAKE EUFAULA, AL
If any of you live in the Eufaula or Dothan Alabama area and interested in bass fishing (or knows someone) on Lake Eufaula, AL during the weekdays send me a message. Not into Tournaments. Retired and just want to bass fish with no pressure. I also intend to explore Lake Seminole in the near future. Prefer some experience bass fishing and launching and recovering a boat. - Updated Member Map!
