  1. I have the 7'2 Heavy Fast and it is by far the best rod I've ever thrown. Light, plenty of backbone and an AMAZING tip. I do everything with it from throw frogs, to football jigs, to 1/4oz texas rig worms. Mines paired with a Tatula CT in the 7 ratio. Best setup I've ever owned. I picked mine up at academy around last xmas for $60. If they would have had other models I would have bought them. I'll check back this year and I'd grab another of the same model to throw other stuff on.
  2. My spinning rod is a Daiwa Laguna 7' ML/XF I picked up at academy on clearance for $15 and I adore it.
  3. I fished a farm pond last week that was maybe 300x150 ft and caught 12 fish between 2 and 6 lbs in about an hour. Im sure its shallow, and its never fished. There are literally hundreds of bullfrogs so im sure thats what is letting them thrive.
  4. You are correct in reference to the I series. Unfortunately I have never had the chance to get my hands on the legendary E series to try.
  5. I can only give my input on the 7'2 Heavy Fast Tatula. I picked it up at Academy on clearance for $60 but I would pay full price. It had a stiff backbone but the tip is incredibly soft and senaitive. I throw 50lb braid on it and use it for frogs, jigs and even 1/8oz tx rigs.
  6. Get a citica or a curado from the big auction site. In a blind cast test i dont think anyone would be able to tell the difference between the two.
  7. You can do just about everything with a 7.1. Do you have a squarebill setup?
  8. Dobyns 895SB. Refurbs are $80 and carry the full Dobyns warranty
  9. I have a CT and an SV, both in 7.3:1. The CT is on a tatula 72 heavy/fast rod with 50lb braid and the SV is on a medium/fast with 10lb yozuri hybrid. I can cast weightless flukes and trick worms on 3/0 hooks with the SV. You can't go wrong with either one and if you wantes the CT to cast lighter weight baits you can get a finesse spool. CT are under $100 on the major auction site and SVs are about $130.
  10. My top 3 are Chigger Craw, Zman Turbo CrawZ and Zoom Ultravibe Speed Craw
  11. For testing the rod doesn't matter as long as the same rod is used as it removes any variables.
  12. A friend and I started sending lures to each other since our wives have boot addictions. We called it the Master Bait Box. And my name is Nate...MBB Nate
  13. I'm about 45 min north and would love a fishing buddy. Unfortunately I don't have a boat, but I'm hoping to get a kayak soon.
  14. I'd love to spend more time on Sooner but I don't have a boat. I mainly fish Ponca and the Kaw dam. Hopefully before too long I'll have a kayak.
  15. Shallow, slow and methodical bottom baits. When it comes to open water or deep water I wouldn't even know where to begin.
  16. Daiwa Tatula CT. Between it and a Lews LFS, which is a d**n fine reel itself and I wouldn't tell someone not to buy one, the CT feels like it should cost twice as much.
  17. The bait monkey is going to love you. So much has changed over time. You two have some serious catching up to do!
  18. I'm in North Central OK too and I don't know of anything either. Where do you fish up here?

If you have an Academy store they have little frogs that work great. SPRO and Booyah also have 2 and 2.5" frogs.
  20. Has anyone tried Bitter's Naked Swimmer? They look good, amazing color selection and 10 baits for $5. https://www.bittersbaitandtackle.com/naked-swimmer.html
  21. 1.) Frog 2.) Pop R 3.) Whopper Plopper 4.) Buzzbait 5.) Spook
  22. I hit them up last week and made a good haul on hardware: 3 H20 motive reels normally $80 ea for $25 each Daiwa Tatula rod normally $159 for $60 2 H20 Ethos Rods normally $99 for $29 ea I spent ~$200 and got $600 in gear! The reason I went is I heard they had the realtree mettle reels on sale for $10, but they were out of those.
  23. Circle sticky dots in different colors. I put them on the butt of my rod.
  24. Yup found them all in the store. They had several racks full of the rods and they have a bunch of reels that are priced down as well.
