Another loading question
I use my deep V 16' for fishing some lakes that allow electric motors only. Mine electric is on the bow. Currently I either pull it to the trailer with the bow line, or I take a run at the trailer and pull up the motor to coast on and strap it. There must be more efficient methods, any ideas?

Do you ever do this???
Marty and Boo, it's interesting that you mention limiting the colors. I just read an article about that a few days ago. It also said Black, white, chartruese or some versions thereof. Three is enough.

Do you ever do this???
I have been practicing with some types of lures that have not been very successful for me in the past. Torpedo, Buzz, Spinner etc. I do not have a huge selection. So, when I have some success fishing a lure, I start to think maybe I could use more variations of these. Like another color, size etc. Now instead of one, I have five versions of the Torpedo and I'm looking at new Buzzes. Learning to fish them is fun but I do not want to go gear crazy. Does anyone think this way after "lure success"? $$$$$ ;D

Hey Clooney, I caught two in 15 min
Clooney, back on Mar. 9th I posted that I caught my first on a spinner. You asked if I ever fished a buzz. To that point I never had much luck I only caught one on a yellow buzz. Last Fri. I walked to the dock with a black buzz tied on and in 15 min I caught two. ;D ;D

1000!
Great site Glenn, keep up the good work ><((((((o>

which does more damage
I tend to agree that the chance for damage is greater with the single hook. However several times I have caught bass on cranks with a treble in the mouth and the other treble swings back near the gill or belly. Little damage usually.

Thanks guys! 1st Bass on spinnerbait
Has anyone ever fished a spinner by tapping it on the bottom during the retreive?

Thanks guys! 1st Bass on spinnerbait
I caught 1 bass on a yellow BuzzB from the dock last year. Twas fun. I tried it the same night/eve I fished the spinner, but no luck. It was choppy so I thought it might work. Question: I noticed that the BB makes a slurp...slurp...slurp sound as I reel,. Is that OK or should it be a smooth gurgling sound? How fast should I reel it? I'm thinking just enough to keep it on top. All tips appreciated. ;D

Thanks guys! 1st Bass on spinnerbait
Roadwarrior, the wind was howlling that evening. I was happy to be able to throw the SB. I do however want to take your other tid bit of advice on pond fishing and that is fish the worms without any weight. I catch bass regularily on a Kalin grub on a jighead near docks and pontoon boats. it will be interesting to see how they react to a softer landing

Wave a magic wand...and you are there.
I have read about El Salto in Mexico, and I'm in Arizona. It might be a fun road trip for lunkers.

Thanks guys! 1st Bass on spinnerbait
In Feb I asked the forum "if you had to start the day with three baits what would they be?" Worms were #1, Spinners #2, cranks#3. I never fished a lot with spinners, I have a few, so based on your input I walked to the lake with a black with a silver Colorado blade. The day was dark, overcast, and windy. Casted parallel to bank as Roadwarrior suggested in "pond fishing" caught my first two bass on spinnerbaits...yippee ;D

hummingbird or garmin?
Have any of you used a Portable FF from any of these companies? I have a Hummingbird at the council but I would like a portable for the bow and my kayak. I have been looking at Garmin 120, Eagle 128, and Fisheasy 240, Hbird PiranaMax 30. Any suggestions?

Hey Roadwarrior...Pond or Lake/clinic
THX Roadwarrior, I am successful near the docks with a 3" grub on a jighead, Kalin or Powerbait. I am going to try a T-rig worm now, how would you suggest fishing it?

Have you ever counted casts???
Has anyone ever kept track of, or estimated, approximately how many casts you throw in a given time period with certain baits? I ask because I "always" catch more while in my kayak than in my big boat on the same lake. My thought is because I move slower/drive less, I cast more times. Any thoughts??? :-/

Hey Roadwarrior...Pond or Lake/clinic
WR, I read your clinic on Chris' thread re: fishing ponds. Now I want to tap your knowledge okay? I have a 36 acre, man made, body of water across the street. Would you qualify it as a lake or pond? Max depth 8'. It's long with 3-4 bays and 3-4 narrow areas. Was built in 1978. Has very little structure or cover, but many small docks and pontoon boats. At shoreline depth ~1 1/2', with a slight slope out to 20' from the shoreline to about 5' deep, then to 8' in the center. Bottom has mossy grass and sediment. The water visibility ranges from 3-4 feet. This is Arizona so we have over 240 days of bright sun. Water today is 60 degrees. I fish with three rods in a kayak most of the time, sometimes in the big boat with the finder. What type of lures, techniques would you use on a regular basis? I have caught as many as 24 bass in a day, as few as one and the largest was 4 1/2lbs. Also there are crappies, catfish, carp, bluegill etc. GO FOR IT EVERYONE ELSE TOO! ;D

I see'm..no hits.. what to do next
Water temp 60, bright sunny day, water visability to 3-4'. Before I even get in the boat, I can see 4-5 bass cruising in 1-4' feet. From shore, I have tried the tiny torpedo, a grub on a jighead and small jerkbaits. They get the fishes attention and some follows but no hits. WHAT WOULD YOU DO NEXT? :-/

How do you tell?
Mike, I'm in Mesa and have only been Bassin for two years but trust me when you get hit on a worm, crank, jerk or whatever and that bass turns his/her head and dives or runs, you will know it. This site and it's contributers have been very helpfull. I have found drop shot fishing to be a little tricky when it comes to timing the hook set. I have to have my patience hat on for them. 8) Welcome and keep coming back and asking. PS It will rain a lot more in WA. LOL ;D

Three lures to start every day
D. Taylor, I was asking which three baits you like to start the day with. Not three for the whole day...oops.

Three lures to start every day
Tally to date Spinners 8, Buzzbaits 4, Topwaters 7, Worms of various types 12, lipless 5, cranks 8, Other including jigs, tubes, live, etc 8. Looks like Worms, spinners and cranks are "old standbys or confidence baits" Now, how do you like to rig your worm? ;D

Three lures to start every day
If you had to have three lures on every day you began fishing, what would your three be?

Need Help!
welcome to the site. If the jumping bass are within casting range keep a crank or jerkbait on a rod, cast it to the spot, twitch it once or twice and hold on. Try casting parallel to shore with a floating or suspending jerk/stick bait. Poppers or other top water baits may also work...cheers ;D

Recharging batteries safely/quickly
Ernel, when my batteries are in the fair range, I charge for 12 hours at 6amp and a little longer at 2 amp. Do you think if I went to a 12 amp I could cut my time to 3-4 hrs per battery?
