White bass and Kentucky's just showed up in my favorite lake... Is the lake in trouble
Love catching whites, I wouldn't think they would be a problem on a lake. Come fall, tie something on white and have a blast!

Fuel Treatment???
It's your boat but I use it, my mechanic recommends it so does mercury. I will take their advice over a guy at the boat ramp.

Fluke?
I don't think there is a right way to retrieve a fluke. If it doesn't get bit one way I will switch the angle at which I jerk it. You really can't fish them wrong.

Do you find that this sport is made difficult and expensive for no reason?
It can be as expensive as you want it to be, or can afford. It is my hobby so I have no trouble with what I have spent on fishing.

Kayak?
For under $500 Dicks, as mentioned above, has the the field and stream both sit in and on top. I know people that have both and work very well. Just wait for them to go on sale. As for how long anywhere from 1-4 hours are usually my trips. Get one and get on the water, you don't have to spend a lot of money to have fun.

Catching Catfish on Bass Lures
crankbaits, swimbaits, worms and crappie jigs all seem to catch cats just fine

Having trouble catching fish on crankbaits
As stated above, I like bouncing them off things, rocks, grass what ever is on the bottom. With so many options just try different methods and different ones. I will always have a crank bait tied on to at least one rod. They work, just keep throwing them.

How's Your Pre-Season Plan Working Out?
I wanted to throw more jerk baits in early spring (spring was quick to not happening here). Did it a little with some success. Now I wanted to throw more tubes which has been working very well, depending on the color. Still messing with them to see what setups work best along with colors.

Zoom 5'' Super Flukes, how durable?
Weightless in lily pads, weight in deeper water for me. As to how long they last, it seems to me the smaller bass tear them up more than the bigger ones.

Beetlespins good for bass?
Beetle spins work great in pounds, I have caught a lot of bass (along with crappie) from ponds. In big bodies of water I really never used it. Don't know why but it is more a pond lure for me.
