IMO for a rod in the $100 dollar range you should get a Dobyns Fury. Excellent quality rod and way above its price point. Don't like Abu's but that's just my 2 cents

Thank you. Casting was never an issue, the 146 is 14 foot so there is more than enough room for 2.

I just sold my Saranac 160 but we loved fishing out of it for prob 2 years. I have 2 kids,10 and 4 yrs old and we fit just fine. I transported in the back of my truck with tailgate down and just strapped threw the nose handle. My 10 year old would help me carry it to the water with no issues. I made a trolling motor mount for it and added some rod holders, worked excellent for fishing big lakes and the California delta. Sorry itvwss the Saranac 146 here's the pic of trolling motor

That funny because my brother and I were laughing after I caught it saying how do we go back to catching bass after that fight. Almost seemed that they just came in without a fight after that.

Ya he definitely didn’t want to come in, gave me a pretty good fight. My brother and I were Laughing about it later cause he kept telling me to lift my rod but I yelled “ I can’t” what a fun experience, never been salmon fishing because I’m just not into it but after this I just might rethink my thoughts about salmon fishing.

Nice!?? This was just one of those things you could never duplicate if i tried. When it hit my bait I thought it was just a big bass then it just took off! I didn’t realize what it was tell it came flying out of the water like a rocket.

Ya it was crazy! I was just off the main Channel in about 20’ of water. I was punching with 3/4” oz bullet and Rage Tail menace in black & blue

I was on the delta bass finishing and decided to punch some grass edges and this is what I caught!

Headed to palm desert for work next week and I’m wondering if there’s any fishing nearby? Anytime i have to work far from home I bring my gear just Incase I find a fishing hole but I can’t seem to find anything on fishing out there. Thanks in advance
