I was on the delta bass finishing and decided to punch some grass edges and this is what I caught!

That's pretty crazy... always assumed they'd stick to the main channels as they're pushing through to their river. Congrats on the surprise!

Man that is crazy. I gotta ask what lure you caught it on.

Ya it was crazy! I was just off the main Channel in about 20’ of water. I was punching with 3/4” oz bullet and Rage Tail menace  in black & blue

Not exactly, but I caught a big male stocker rainbow on a 1/2oz jig flipping bushes in a creek off the main lake once. Weird bite, missed him two cast in a row before I stuck him.

Nice!??

This was just one of those things you could never duplicate if i tried. When it hit my bait I thought it was just a big bass then it just took off! I didn’t realize what it was tell it came flying out of the water like a rocket.

That is awesome! I hooked a musky punching in Minnesota, not that shocking to hook one in that situation but it is a very intense event when a big mean fish of that size is hooked on the equipment you use to punch in the areas you punch. And pound for pound a salmon can kick a musky's butt! Bet you had your hands full!

Ya he definitely didn’t want to come in, gave me a pretty good fight. My brother and I were Laughing about it later cause he kept telling me to lift my rod but I yelled “ I can’t”

what a fun experience, never been salmon fishing because I’m just not into it but after this I just might rethink my thoughts about salmon fishing.

This is probably one of the craziest "accidental" catches I've ever heard of.  And it's awesome.

In spring time, I sometimes catch steelhead and browns, fishing docks.  Always a surprise, but this way before the weeds come in.  That catch is really odd!  Cool!

that is awesome! That must put a big bass fight to shame.

That funny because my brother and I were laughing after I caught it saying how do we go back to catching bass  after that fight. Almost seemed that they just came in without a fight after that.

Thats kind of like going down to mexico to fish for those monsters. Then going back home and catching 4 to 5lbers (dinks).
