  1. When a fellow comes tearing into the ramp like his #$$ is on fire just to be the next in the water. Happened to my wife and I awhile back while we were in the staging area getting our boat ready. I think he needed to get up earlier ??
  2. That's Great!! I'm very blessed that my wife is my best friend and fishing partner. We've been fishing together now over 36 years. Now, she's not quite as die hard as me, but she does have her own compartments on the boat with her two rods and gear.?
  3. Caught one this past winter on drop shot at 52' Yeah, they'll go deep
  4. You don't have to do it all at once, but that dose make it nice. Just keep up with your time and run it per manual.
  5. As many have said, follow the manual. I've broke in two Mercury 4-strokes, the last one was the same as yours. My first, I ran it for 11 years with absolutely no issues and it never burned a drop of oil, and now I'm on my second 4-stroke and I followed the manual and expect the same.
  6. We're under another winter storm advisory tomorrow. I've had enough!!
  7. Hello Folks, this may be in the wrong forum but I looked in the south east and found nothing, so here's my question. My son lives and works in Knoxville TN and I'm planning on making a trip there with my boat and take him fishing and trying to decide which lake would you choose. The two are Douglas or Cherokee. He's fished both on his kayak and bank fished, one of these two is where he wants to go. He's checking with some of his fishing buds and I'm decided to ask you guys. My first thought was to go to Dale Hollow, but it's to far for me to travel in my time frame. So anyone who has fished either, which would you choose? It'll be late April to Mid May. Thanks for any info.
  8. I went to Plum Orchard Wed afternoon and water temp was 43° at the dam and 41° on the upper end and water was a couple feet high. I did manage to catch one nice one off a point. They seemed to be still holding to there winter patterns. Can't wait for some warm weather to get the water temps up.
  9. Tire pressure should be what the tire manufacturer states on the side wall.
  10. I like the multiple braking system
  11. Yes, I have. Use to carry one for a backup pin, but never intended to use it as a permanent pin though.
  12. Hopefully it'll not be that bad, and you have it insured.
  13. I've been casting lead bullets for many years and have my lead level checked on my yearly check up and everything has been normal. I use common sense while doing it.
  14. Good Looking Boat, Congratulations
  15. Sorry for your loss Tom
  16. Looks like a Good Day!!
  17. Yep, usually a paddle tail grub or minnow. The smallmouth in that water tend to like a white paddle tail.
  18. I use several under spins like that, but a different brand and they're very productive on my home water for small mouth and walleye.
  19. I carry RV antifreeze in my truck and as soon as I come out I drain and the plug my live well and dump a hallon in and run it through. My out board, I raise and lower as many have said, and just for my peace of mind and if it's going to be a few weeks before I get to go again. When I get home I get some help and run a gallon of 50/50 automobile antifreeze through my outboard. A gallon always makes it through and pumps a stream out. This has served me well for over 25 years.
  20. Yep, most tire weights aren't lead anymore, I've used wheel weights for casting bullets for years up until about two years ago. I would get them in 5-gallon buckets, and once I melted them down I would end up with about 40% lead and the rest was junk. I just started buying it.
  21. I ran one on a Mercury 4-stroke 60-HP for 12 years, from when I bought it and until I recently traded it in, and it worked great with absolutely no issues.
